Following the building collapse in Delhi's Satyaniketan area, authorities have evacuated the adjacent five-storey building after severe structural damage and safety violations were detected. Debris from the collapse damaged the ground wall of the neighbouring structure, leaving it vulnerable to further collapse. Emergency personnel installed iron support pillars inside and outside the structure to stabilise the five floors and extended balconies. Experts will oversee a phase-wise demolition of the unsafe building. The incident highlights rampant illegal constructions and safety lapses in student residential clusters near South Campus, prompting investigations into corrupt officials and unauthorised building approvals.
