00:05Hello to you and the Telesur audience.
00:08Today, September 7th, Labor Day is being observed in the United States.
00:12Mass demonstrations have been called in major U.S. cities
00:16where thousands of protesters are expected to take to the streets
00:19to protest the immigration, economic, social and foreign policies
00:24of the current Donald Trump administration.
00:26This Labor Day arrives amidst immigration rates across most of the country.
00:31In August alone, ICE reported over 5,000 immigrants detained in immigration jails,
00:372,197 of whom were from New York State,
00:41following one of ICE's largest operations called Operation Rotten Apple.
00:48This Labor Day also comes with a total of 57 immigrants
00:51having died in immigration custody since Trump's entered the White House.
00:56All this is taking place amidst inflation that experts say exceeds 4%
01:03and raising fuel costs with gasoline now over 4.14 per gallon,
01:08driven by the war against Iran.
01:11Alongside agricultural losses exceeding $31 billion,
01:15with some former reporting losses for up to 50%.
01:20This Labor Day also sees President Trump's approval rating
01:24at a historical low of 33%,
01:27according to the latest Financial Times poll.
01:31Finally, the traditional massive Labor Day demonstration
01:34in New York will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8th,
01:38starting at 4.30 p.m. on Liberty Street in Lower Manhattan.
01:42Our team will be there to report on everything that unfolds.
01:47That's all what I have from New York.
01:49Back to you in the studio.
