Hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets of Los Angeles to protest US President Donald Trump’s policies, marking one year since his inauguration.

Carrying placards and chanting slogans, protesters gathered in central LA to voice opposition to the administration’s positions on immigration, healthcare, foreign policy, and civil rights. Organisers said the rally was intended to send a message of continued resistance as the presidency enters its second year.

Police monitored the demonstration as crowds marched through major intersections, with no immediate reports of serious incidents. The protest comes amid ongoing national debate over Trump’s domestic and international agenda, which has drawn both strong support and sharp criticism across the country.

Similar demonstrations were reported in other US cities as activists renewed calls for policy changes and greater accountability from the White House.

00:24What I want to tell.
00:29His sister, Mara, has had two different women, so he had a picture on his phone, and his crew
00:34are half-sistered.

00:46You just got your AI assistant.
00:49Exactly.
00:50Thank you very much.
00:52I have two young daughters, and oftentimes I'm up and I thinking about the kind of America
00:58that they're going to grow up in if this regime is allowed to have its way with their tactics,
01:05with ICE, with invading Greenland or making enemies out of Europe.
01:10I don't want my daughters to grow up in World War III, and I don't want them to grow up in
01:15fascist Germany.
01:16I'd like that they grow up in the United States of America.

01:49I just want to see people come together instead of hating each other.
01:54It's as simple as that.
01:55It's not so much about this policy, that policy.
01:59That's what it comes down to at the end of the day.
02:01But I think the message we want to support is just bringing people together.
02:05And right now ICE is not doing that.
02:08We're ripping families apart.
02:11It's just not something I want to stand for.
02:14So I want to show that I don't stand for it.
02:19ICE did nothing wrong.
02:21ICE did absolutely nothing wrong.
02:25ICE did nothing wrong.
02:27ICE did nothing wrong.
02:29ICE did nothing wrong.
02:33ICE did absolutely nothing wrong.
02:45I'm so upset with all the people in our government
02:48who are not standing up.
02:49Because this couldn't be going the way it is without all these other enablers.
02:54So I guess my message is I wish the people, the government would do their job.
03:00My message for me personally is we have got to take back the House and the Senate in 2026.
03:10People are talking about Gavin for president.
03:13But if we don't take back the Congress, we're as good as a memory, if we can even do it then.
03:20So everybody who didn't vote, which was more people than voted for him,
03:25which was two million more than voted for Kamala, I feel like we're done.
03:30And the Renee Good murder has a lot of people opening their eyes, I hope.
03:37But I think that's got to be the point is winning the Congress and the Senate.
