TEMU’s cheapest BBQ gadgets get put through a real-world grill test to see which ones are actually worth the money. From a chicken stand and chicken leg rack to an infrared thermometer, wire baskets, grill gloves, a flame gun, smoke tube, non-cut gloves, automatic salt and pepper shakers, and even a tiny tabletop grill, every tool gets the same honest treatment: does it work, and does it feel built to last?
The results are a mix of solid budget buys and obvious skips. Some items feel sturdier than expected, like the smoke tube and rib rack, while others fall short on quality, fit, or usefulness. There are also a few surprises, including cheap grilling accessories that actually do the job, even if they are a little weird or unnecessary. It is part BBQ gadget review, part kitchen tech experiment, and part bargain-hunting reality check.
If you like TEMU reviews, cheap cooking gadgets, grill accessory testing, barbecue gear reviews, and practical outdoor cooking tools, this one is packed with useful comparisons. It is a good pick for anyone searching for BBQ tools, grill gadgets, smoker accessories, and honest product reviews before buying.

00:00Hello my friends and welcome to the first ever edition of Teemu Cooking Tech. I ordered all
00:06kinds of cooking tech from Teemu so you didn't have to. Let's check it out right now. Our first
00:11item is this chicken stand. It's meant for standing your chicken up on. You can put a beer can in
00:17here,
00:17a soda can, whatever you want, or you can let it go as is. Guys, at first looks, this thing
00:23is pretty
00:24sturdy. It looks like it's built decently. It doesn't look like it's going to come apart easily.
00:29I would say that this is a pretty solid chicken stand. So for our first item out of the box,
00:36I am not too upset with it. Let's see what it costs. This was only $5.59. So for $5
00:43.59,
00:43I'm going to say that this chicken stand is probably a solid buy. Next up, we have this
00:51infrared thermometer. It says that it goes from negative 50 degrees Celsius to 550 degrees Celsius.
00:58That's a big difference. Let's pop this guy open. Now I use one of these for my cooking that I
01:03just
01:04bought from Harbor Freight. Oh, it does not come with batteries. I probably should have figured that
01:09much. It does take two AAAs though. I think I got some down here. I'm going to be honest with
01:17you.
01:17I got these at the dollar store like two years ago, so I'm not 100% sure that they still
01:21work,
01:21but we're going to go ahead and pop them in and give them a try.
01:26I like that they use AAA batteries instead of the... Oh, light's right up. There you go. Two
01:32AAA batteries instead of those big square batteries set on Celsius. Let's see. We can flip it to
01:37Fahrenheit easily by hitting the mode. The screen is nice and clear. Check that out. The illumination
01:43behind it is nice. Let's point it at something and find out. Let's see what the light... My light
01:49apparently is 81.8 degrees. Let's see what the temperature of the water is in this Yeti.
01:5938 degrees. That's not bad, huh? It feels sturdy enough. I like that the battery cover is this simple
02:05to access. That's nice. It feels decent in your hand. It doesn't feel like a cheap piece of crap.
02:11It feels pretty decent. It says it's 65 degrees in here right now. This thing was $9.48. I think
02:18that if the temperature is accurate for $9.48, it's not a bad buy. So, so far, I'd say we're
02:25two for
02:25two on Teemu Cookies. The next thing we're going to check out is this thing. And you ask yourself,
02:31what is this? Well, I don't know that this is necessary for anybody. Let's see if I'm smart
02:38enough to figure out. There you go. All right. I don't know if this is necessary for anybody
02:41whatsoever, but in theory, it's kind of a cool idea. What you do is, is you place this on your
02:47grill and you hang chicken legs in it just like that. The knuckle slides right in there and it
02:52just hangs. This is a little more wobbly. It doesn't feel like it's... I don't know that it
02:58necessarily feels cheap, but it doesn't necessarily feel like a premium product either. I don't know that
03:04you need it to because it is a chicken leg rack, right? Um, I think that it probably is going
03:10to
03:10get the job done. All right. I'm sure that you can easily put, uh, at least every other one of
03:16these full of chicken. Uh, it seems like you probably are not going to be able to use every
03:20rack that your chicken would probably touch. Uh, but maybe you don't mind. Maybe you don't care if
03:24it has little soft spots or whatever. Uh, it does collapse. Oh no. It did collapse right out of
03:31the thing. That appears to be user error. Uh, all in all, let's see how much this thing costs.
03:38This thing right here was $6.38. For $6.38, it might be worth it. Uh, it might not be.
03:47I don't
03:47know. I probably would just cook my chicken, you know, how I've always cooked it, but, uh, I don't
03:52know. Probably not a bad gadget for the money. So I'd say, uh, I don't know. I'll probably give this
03:58one a pass too. So I'd say we're probably three for three, maybe two and a half for three.
04:03Next up, we got this dank wire brush for cleaning your grates. It comes with a little plastic
04:08protector there. Just kind of a standard wire brush. Not too sharp. This thing feels pretty
04:13cheap. The handle feels extremely cheap. I do not have a whole lot of confidence. Let's just kind of,
04:21like, if you're really trying to scrape, yeah, it's, I don't know. I don't think that if you got a
04:27really scraped down on anything, that this is probably going to do much for you. Let's see
04:31what the price it was on this. This was $4.49. Guys, I'm going to tell you, probably don't buy
04:38this. First off, wire and brushes are kind of passe. You risk getting some wire stuck in your
04:43food. Um, it's not very well-billed. It's pretty cheap. You can just buy something cheap at Walmart,
04:49uh, or your local store for, uh, probably the same price. It's going to do just as good of a
04:56job,
04:56if not better. This thing is cheap as hell and probably now is mine. Next up, we have some
05:03barbecue claws. Now, I taped these together so I wouldn't lose them. But the problem with these is,
05:09is you actually have to order two because they don't come in a pair. You only get one for your
05:14order. Guys, I'm going to say that these are probably not worth it straight out of the gate
05:18because they're plastic. I don't know that these are going to hold up very well, uh, over long-term
05:24use. I guess the good news is, is they're only $1.43 a piece. So it's not like you're spending
05:29a ton
05:29of money on them. Uh, I would probably just spend the extra money and get some metal ones if you're
05:34going to do it. Uh, or you can just burn off all the nerve endings in your hands like most
05:37pitmasters
05:38do. But, uh, these guys right here, I'm saying $1.43 though, I guess you can make the argument.
05:46They do fit my hands and my hands are pretty big. So there is that. Next up, we got these
05:52wire baskets. What are these wire baskets for? You might ask. Actually, this one is missing part of
05:59it. I could have swore that I had this when I got it. Maybe I didn't. I don't see it
06:04on the floor
06:04anywhere. But, uh, so what this wire basket does is you pop the end off here. You fill it full
06:10of
06:10vegetables. You could put it in the small meats in here if you want. Um, but it prevents them from
06:15falling down in the grates of your grill. Everybody here has probably cooked some vegetables on their
06:20grill and lost at least a few asparagus to the flames beneath, to the flame gods, if you will.
06:28Uh, so first and foremost, uh, I think quality wise, these are probably what you would expect as far as
06:35a wire basket goes. I'm sure that I could smash this pretty easily if I wanted to. I'm not going
06:40to.
06:40Uh, one feature that I do think is pretty nice here. If you look here, you can actually see that
06:46there is a cutout here. So this nub slides into it and it locks the basket. So you don't have
06:52an
06:52accidental spillage. That's pretty decent, I'd say. Um, and then a really cool feature that comes with
06:58this is you have this hook. So you can pop these in all kinds of different grills and smokers, even
07:03like a UDS. You could, if you got the hangers, you could hang that down in there and you could
07:07cook.
07:07Yeah. You could cook it. You could cook it over an open fire, even with that. Uh, all in all,
07:12this one did come a little bit bent. Uh, I'm pretty sure that I lost the piece to this. I
07:17don't know
07:18where. Um, but it did come with another hook. Uh, I, I believe anyway. So I would say for $5
07:25.48,
07:26which is what we spent on these, uh, this one was 548. This one, I think was three something.
07:30Uh, not bad. Really, honestly, uh, it's not a bad little gadget. It's something that's definitely
07:36not necessary, but you could throw it in your repertoire and it will make cooking a little
07:40easier for you. And I think for the price, it's probably solid. It's a good little novelty gift
07:46for people in your lives who are into grilling. Next up, I got one of these, uh, grill gloves here.
07:53Now everybody has seen these, uh, pretty much every grill brand ever sells these. You can buy these at
07:59Walmart. Um, there's only one in this package. So this was $5 and 19 cents. I'm a pretty big hand
08:09and it fits me pretty good. Uh, so that's nice. It is insulated. It does have grips on it. My
08:15only
08:15issue with this is it was $5 and something cents and you only get one who only uses one of
08:23these gloves.
08:24I would think that maybe you'd be better off with two. And I don't know if that 10, $11 that
08:31this is
08:31necessarily a good buy when you could just go to Walmart or whatever and buy a similar product in a
08:37pair for probably the same, if not less money. But I mean, it does feel like it's probably constructed
08:44just as good as anything else. You're just going to have to buy two of them and you're going to
08:49have
08:49to wait. I don't know. I'd probably pass. Next up for $3 and 59 cents, we have this
08:55aptly named flame gun. Let's check this thing out. Everything, uh, or everybody should have
09:04a torch in your cooking repertoire. So obviously this is built to go on top of a butane can.
09:11Uh, it feels all right. It doesn't feel super cheap, uh, but it doesn't feel super expensive either.
09:19So I'd say for $3.59, it's probably as good a quality as you're going to get. I do happen
09:24to
09:24have a butane can. So let's check it out. Let's find out how it works. All right, let's see if
09:29I
09:29can get this on here. How do you get it? Oh no, I hear the, I hear the gas escaping.
09:41I don't feel it
09:42clicking on. I don't know how hard you're supposed to push down on this thing. It definitely smells
09:50like butane. I'm just shooting poisonous gases all over the place here. All right, guys, I don't know
09:59how to put this thing on here. As far as I can tell, it doesn't properly fit. So I would
10:04say that
10:05this item is probably a bust unless I'm just a dumbass, which is certainly a possibility.
10:10Next up, we have this smoke tube. This smoke tube was $6.99 and honestly, it feels sturdy as hell.
10:21This thing feels like you could probably run it over with the car and it might survive. Uh,
10:27I mean, it's a good size. It's got plenty of, of, of holes in it. Uh, these are more expensive
10:32with,
10:33uh, you know, Kingston on them or something like that. I would say all in all, this is probably a
10:38really good buy for $6.99. Next up, we have some of these non-cut gloves. So allegedly
10:48you can use these and hit your finger with a knife and it will not cut through. You could also
10:53use these
10:53as heat gloves. Like if you wear them as glove liners, you get two pair of these for $7.98.
10:59So you get
11:00four of them for a $8. So you're basically paying $2 a pair. I guess we should go ahead and
11:05put these
11:06to the test. Let me go ahead and grab my Kyoku knife here. I actually really like this knife.
11:13This knife is very sharp too.
11:18Nothing. Oh, I did get a little nick right here, but it took two cuts. Let's find out here. Let's
11:24just go.
11:33Nothing. The glove does have some dents in it where I really grounded. It got through a little bit,
11:37but what are the chances you're going to do that?
11:44Yeah. I, uh, I wish I was brave enough to put my hand in here and do it on purpose
11:50to see what
11:50would happen, but I'm just not. This knife is extremely sharp. So watch. You see what I'm saying?
11:56This is not some sort of gimmick knife. Uh, I would say, I hate to make a claim on something
12:05like this, but I would say that if you accidentally nick your finger and you're wearing these,
12:10you're probably not going to cut yourself. Yeah. This is probably a buy. Next up for $5.38,
12:18we have this digital food thermometer, uh, with this red thing that fell off.
12:26Maybe this is to open, uh, the battery compartment comes to you in Celsius, pop it over to thermometer.
12:33Let's see. Put a little heat on that bad boy. It is very slow. It is still moving. It has
12:39not
12:39determined the temperature of just me gripping it yet. I don't know. This thing sucks.
12:44It's not great. Uh, the quality is cheap. I feel like I could probably just, yeah, I mean,
12:50I could just snap this if I really wanted to. I have no doubt. Oh, actually I put lines in
12:55the
12:55LCD screen doing that straight out of the gate. Next up, I'm probably most excited for these.
13:00I've always wanted a set of these, uh, but I never have gotten around to buying them yet. They are
13:04automatic salt and pepper shakers. I paid, I paid $6 and 74 cents for these. These are extremely cheap.
13:13Let's find out. So they don't feel like they're probably like if you drop it, I don't know that
13:20this thing is going to survive a drop, but if they get the job done and you're careful with them,
13:25it might still be worth it. Let's try these out. It does take four AA batteries. All right. So this
13:31set is going to take eight total batteries. I just so happen to have a package of eight
13:36AA batteries right here. It's almost like I planned this video out in advance and knew that I needed
13:43eight batteries. All right. If you guys have been watching me for a while, you know that I do not
13:48plan out videos at all, my dudes. Let's pop this back on here. Oh, that didn't sound good. I guess
14:01we'll find out. Guys, the good news is it is sturdier than I had originally thought. It did not
14:08disintegrate, which I low-key kind of expected. All right, guys, we finally got these things put
14:13together and let's test them out. It's the moment of truth. Should we do them both at the same time?
14:19That way, if we're disappointed, we're disappointed simultaneously. All right, guys, I'm about to make
14:24a huge mess. Let's go. Oh, it's raining salt and pepper. Guys, they work for less than $7, guys. These
14:33things freaking work. I got salt and pepper everywhere. I'm going to keep these. I'm going to keep these in
14:39the repertoire. You might see these in future videos. I'm going to clean up this mess and we'll
14:47be right back. Guys, inside this bag could either be the coolest or the dumbest thing that we bought.
14:55Let's find out. It is a tabletop grill. It's portable. It's not tabletop. It said it was tabletop,
15:05but I can already tell you right now that you are in for a world of hurt if you use
15:11this thing on a
15:12normal table. Maybe if it was like some sort of concrete table, but this thing has vents at the
15:17bottom of it. All right, pretty easy to put together. Now, here's the thing, guys.
15:24This thing right here costs almost $17. I'm going to pop the price up on the screen.
15:29For that price, you can get a real grill at Walmart. It'll be cheap, but it's going to allow
15:36you to cook a menagerie of things. This right here is probably great for like a kebab, maybe a couple
15:44kebabs, a couple hot dogs, a hamburger, a pork chop. This is not going to cook a meal for people,
15:50I don't think. It is not some high quality build. Obviously, for $17, you probably couldn't expect that.
15:59It is not under any circumstance going to be safe for you to use for tabletop smoking or grilling.
16:06I'm sorry. The only person I would recommend to use this as a tabletop grill is probably Terry,
16:12but he's probably dumb enough to do that anyway. So I should probably say that I'm just kidding,
16:18Terry. Don't use this on your table. It's extremely unsafe. But if you're going grilling,
16:24if you're like at the beach, if you're camping someplace like that, if you're tailgating maybe,
16:31and you just want to cook something small, this might get the job done. But for $17,
16:38all right, for our final item of the day, we have this sweet grill. I'm just kidding. This grill brush
16:44is obviously cheaper, but it did come with this wire rib rack. Now I used to have one of these.
16:50It was built different. It was from Chargriller, I think. I could be wrong about that. But it worked
16:56really well for the grill that I had at the time. And this thing right here looks no different. It
17:03looks like it's a pretty solid build. It doesn't look like it's going to fall apart or bend up on
17:08you. And if you have something like a Weber kettle or a smaller grill, you can probably get easily...
17:15I mean, it says you could put four racks of ribs in here. The way it's set up,
17:19I'm kind of inclined to believe that that's true. So you can get four racks of ribs into a grill
17:25that
17:25you could maybe only get two into otherwise. So I would say that this right here is solid enough.
17:31It was less than $14. It was $13 something. And honestly, you're probably not going to get one
17:37for less money at the store. Although you may not pay that much more for it. I doubt that you're
17:42going to get it for less. So that being said, I would say that this item right here is probably
17:48a buy. That being said, guys, let me know if you thought this video was worth it. Should we make
17:53another one? Should we continue to do these types of videos? Do you like to see this kind of content?
17:58Let me know below so I know if it's worth doing or not. Hit a like, hit a subscribe, leave
18:03a comment,
18:05skullandmortar.com for all your barbecue needs. And I don't know, maybe I'll use some of these in
18:11videos. I don't know. Maybe I will. Let's find out. Stay tuned. I'll talk to you guys soon.
18:18We're almost done in this kitchen, guys. We're almost going to be coming to you from a new
18:22kitchen in Florida. So thanks for being along for this journey for with me. It's free to go,
18:27dude. We crossed 10k. Let's do 20k. I bet we can get to 20k. Let's do 20,000. Let's get
18:33to 20,000

18:40subscribers. Let's freaking go.
