The Dreo ChefMaker gets put through a real-world cooking test to see whether this smart cooker can actually make dinner easier. After unboxing, the device stands out as a sleek kitchen appliance with a built-in probe, LCD screen, glass sensor buttons, and a built-in water tank that supports its combi cook and sous-vide style functions. A rib eye is seasoned, loaded into Chef mode, and cooked with the app and automatic settings guiding the process from start to finish.

The results are surprisingly strong: the sous-vide function produces a tender, juicy steak, even if the doneness lands a bit past medium rare, and the grill function adds a solid crust with plenty of moisture left inside. The review also checks how the app works remotely and whether the machine really lives up to the promise of hands-off precision cooking. It’s a practical smart kitchen review with a focus on steak, temperature control, and automated cooking performance.

Created for viewers searching for Dreo ChefMaker review, smart cooker review, sous-vide cooker test, combi cooker, and kitchen gadget reviews. It also fits searches for automated cooking, smart kitchen appliances, and easy steak cooking for anyone comparing modern cooking devices.

00:00The ChefMaker is a brand new appliance that's making a lot of noise in food circles.
00:04They claim it will make the perfect meal without hassle or any chef skills.
00:08So today we're going to put its CombiCook technology to the test.
00:12My first impressions after unboxing are that it looks like a premium kitchen device.
00:16It's very well built, it's very sleek, and it has this cool built-in probe in the basket area
00:21so you can monitor your internal temperature without clipping anything or losing any heat.
00:25It has a really nice LCD screen that's built right into it, and it has these glass sensor buttons.
00:30All in all, I feel like it looks like something that came straight out of the future.
00:34So the first thing we're going to do is test out the sous-vide function.
00:37I got my finest tinfoil mug here, and we're going to go ahead and rub this down with some garlic
00:42butter that we melted down.
00:45Next, we're going to grab our all-purpose rub from Skull & Mortar and holler at us at skullandmortar.com,
00:50and we are going to go ahead and give this thing a nice coating.
00:53The salt, pepper, and garlic will bring out all the natural flavors of the meat that is perfect for beef.
01:01Now it's time to give this thing a go.
01:03We're going to go through and kind of flip through the options here.
01:05You've got all kinds of options, but we're going to go straight to chef mode and try to keep it
01:09as simple as possible.
01:11We do have options for all kinds of different meats here, beef, chicken, all that,
01:15and then you can flip through different kinds of beets.
01:17So we're cooking a ribeye, so we're going to go down to our ribeye option,
01:22and then it gives you literal directions on how to use the machine, fill the water tank, insert the probe,
01:27all of that.
01:28So we're going to get to that.
01:30So the first thing we're going to do is pop open the built-in water tank here,
01:33because we are going to sous vide mode this.
01:37So we're going to go ahead and just fill that up to the fill line.
01:40Pretty easy.
01:40This is kind of cool.
01:41I've never seen a device like this that has a built-in water tank,
01:44so I don't know if this is a first, but it certainly is as far as I know.
01:49Now that our tank is filled up, we're going to go ahead and connect the probe here.
01:53It snaps right in very easily.
01:56It's pretty foolproof.
01:57By foolproof, I mean everybody but me.
02:00No, once I was smart enough to take a look at it there, it pops right in.
02:04Got my probe.
02:05We're going to stick that right through the middle,
02:07through the thickest part of the stake,
02:09and then we just go ahead and hit go.
02:12So it's calculating.
02:13Let's see what happens here.
02:15And it says we got 42 minutes,
02:17so I'm going to go do something else and we'll come back.
02:20So the Chef Maker does have an app that allows you to monitor remotely.
02:24The app notified me that I was done,
02:26and my first impression is the steak looks pretty good.
02:29It smells fantastic.
02:32I'm pretty cautiously optimistic about this.
02:35Let's take a deeper look.
02:37All right, let's cut into it here.
02:39It cuts very smooth.
02:41Now, I would say right here, it does look well done versus medium rare.
02:46Let's go ahead and take another cut here.
02:48It looks like that maybe lightened up a little bit here.
02:51It definitely seems like it's fairly juicy,
02:53and I think maybe in the middle we're looking more like a medium one.
02:57Guys, pardon the mess, but I wasn't going to do it like this.
03:00I was going to just do straight voiceovers,
03:02but guys, this steak, first off, you know, it's not cooked medium rare.
03:07It is cooked a little bit past that.
03:10I would say probably medium well, maybe even well,
03:14but it is so tender.
03:16It is so juicy.
03:20Honestly, I'm honestly literally at a loss for words for how good this machine cooked this steak.
03:29I mean, look at, you can see the meat's juicy.
03:34I'm going to fat boy eat this whole steak.
03:36It wasn't even my original plan.
03:40Guys, now we got to check out the actual grilling feature
03:43and see how well that bad boy gets the job done.
03:47I'm totally taken off guard by how good the sous vide function cooked this steak.
03:52It's got a nice crust, the flavor, crust.
03:55It's got a nice crust.
03:57The flavor pops.
03:58For somebody who maybe doesn't have a sous vide or a grill,
04:02this right here is going to knock it out of the park.
04:06I'm excited to see what the grill function does.
04:08Let's get to it.
04:09If you guys have been with this channel for a while,
04:11you know that I always give an honest review,
04:13even if it costs me a sponsorship.
04:15But I'm looking forward to this, honestly.
04:18So the setup to grill it is very similar to the sous vide.
04:22The instructions look to be pretty similar.
04:25So we're going to go ahead and get our probe into the meat.
04:29Let's go through our options here.
04:31Medium rare, classic flavor.
04:33It tells us we got to shut the drawer here,
04:35so we'll get that shut.
04:37Water is required for the grilling as well.
04:39Okay, that's pretty interesting.
04:40We do still have water in here from when we did the sous vide function.
04:44It looks like maybe it just takes a second to catch up.
04:47There we go.
04:47It says we got 25 minutes.
04:49I'm going to pop open my app,
04:50and let's see how this works.
04:52It took exactly 25 minutes.
04:54Let's pop it open.
04:55It looks like we got a steak here, man.
04:57It looks like we got a little bit of a harder crust,
04:59maybe, than the sous vide function.
05:02Let's go ahead and cut in here and see what we got.
05:05The outside here, again, it looks probably closer to well done,
05:09but each cut I take,
05:10it looks like we're getting a little closer to medium, medium well.
05:14So the center of the steak definitely looks more medium.
05:17So I'm pretty optimistic again.
05:20Guys, you know that I was impressed by the sous vide function on the Chef Maker,
05:23but I had to try the grill function as well.
05:26So the deeper we get in here, again, we did set it on medium rare.
05:30We do get to a medium well, I would say, in here.
05:32So it is cooked more accurately than it was on the sous vide temperature.
05:35However, look at the moisture on here, man.
05:37There is tons of moisture on this board.
05:39This meat is very moist, very succulent,
05:44but very, guys, it looks pretty promising.
05:51So let's go ahead and give this a try.
05:53We got Fred in the house over here.
05:55He's going to try and buy it.
05:56We're going to try and buy it.
05:57Let's freaking go.
05:58Ready?
06:03Wow.
06:05What do you think?
06:06It looks so pretty good.
06:08The steak that comes out of this thing would be solid coming from most people's grills,
06:14and it's coming out of the Chef Maker.
06:16Yeah, go ahead.
06:17Let's see.
06:17Fred wants seconds.
06:19I want seconds.
06:20So I would say that we're pushing medium in the middle of the steak.
06:24Guys, if you don't have a grill, if you're in a situation where you can't grill,
06:29this is an excellent option.
06:31If you just want to throw the meat in real quick and hit the shower and come out and your
06:34steak is done,
06:35this is going to deliver for you.
06:37I'm very pleasantly surprised by this.
06:39It's very good.
06:40Check it out.
06:41We got the link in the description below.
06:42This is the Chef Maker Combi Fryer.
06:45Guys, it has an app.
06:46It has all the settings for you.
06:47It's literally as easy or as hard as you want to make it.
06:50Guys, I'm going to crush the rest of this steak.
06:52I'm two ribeyes in.
06:54Your boy's getting fatter by the day.
06:56Remember, for every like that this video gets or any new video for the rest of this year,
07:01starting with our last video, the Nashville Hot Chicken Tacos,
07:05guys, every like is a penny donated to charity for the rest of the year.
07:08So, go ahead and mess me up, fam.
07:11You know what I mean?
07:11Ruin me financially.
07:12Let's get those likes in and let's donate some money to charity.
07:15Let's freaking go.
07:17Link in description.
07:19Skullandmortar.com for all your needs.
07:21Fred's eating all the steak.
07:22I got to go.
07:23I got to really learn how to end my intro so I can have steak too.
07:27See you guys soon.
07:32I'll eat that one.
07:38We take this and we're like, I'll eat that one too.
