00:06on the 13th of September for its 45th staging. The race starts in Newcastle, passes through
00:12Gateshead and South Tyneside and finishes at South Shields Seafront.
00:16For people travelling through the area the main issue will be road closures.

00:27o'clock BST. Further closure times for South Tyneside will be due soon.
00:34Nexus says it'll run additional metro services and use crowd control measures
00:38because the event is expected to be its busiest day of the whole year.
00:44Passengers are being advised to plan ahead and to allow more time for journeys before and after.
00:50The race is also a fundraising event with participants supporting charities
00:53and causes that matter to them. That includes national organisations, local groups and specialist
00:59charities. The event says that runners have raised millions of pounds through its charity program over
01:06the many many years it's been on. The anniversary has also been marked by a large mural on Newcastle
01:12Quayside which was created by local artist Alex Mulholland. It celebrates the race's place in the region
01:19where elite athletes compete alongside thousands and thousands of people taking part for personal goals
