The idea of travelling back in time sounds exciting until you start asking what would happen if you changed something that was supposed to happen.
Questions like this became a major part of 20th-century science fiction and eventually made their way into serious discussions about time, causality and whether the past could ever be altered.
One of the most famous examples became known as the GRANDFATHER PARADOX. A version of the idea was popularized in René Barjavel’s 1943 science-fiction novel "Le Voyageur imprudent", and since then it has appeared again and again in philosophy, physics discussions, books and movies.
