The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption launched raids at the residence of former DMK minister K.N. Nehru in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. DMK chief M.K. Stalin criticised the state government over the action, calling the raids politically motivated and diversionary tactics while the assembly session is underway and a case remains pending before the High Court. Stalin stated that the DMK will confront these measures through the path of law and accused the administration of resorting to horse trading to form the government without registering preliminary inquiries into such complaints.

00:07you from down south, specifically from the state of Tamil Nadu.
00:10This is with regards to the earlier raids that were launched against KN Nehru, the former DMK minister.
00:16It's now MK Stalin, the party supremo, who's come out to in fact slam the Tamil Nadu government over the
00:23action that's been taken against KN Nehru.
00:25Stalin has come out to allege political vendetta against KN Nehru, saying, and I quote, action against Nehru politically motivated.
00:33Case is ongoing in the high court session is also underway.
00:37New government is resorting to diversionary tactics, accuses government of the dark side of Indian democracy.
00:45DMK will not fear these gimmicks, will confront the triumph through path of law, will confront them and triumph through
00:52the path of law.
00:56Stalin says MLA is induced to quit parties and join the government camp.
01:02He in fact goes on to allege and add that no preliminary inquiry was registered in the horse trading complaints
01:09at all.
01:09So these are some of the entire comments and remarks that's been made by the DMK chief, that is MK
01:16Stalin,
01:17with regards to the entire raids that's been taking place by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption since morning
01:24against the former DMK minister, KN Nehru.
01:27Remember earlier as well, we've seen certain other authorities, in fact, coming in to probe several of such allegations that
01:36have been mounting over former leaders from the DMK,
01:39or ministers from the DMK in the earlier government, that is.
01:43Now, this is the latest in that very episode.
01:45Pramod Madhav joining me on the broadcast with more details on the same.
01:49Pramod, very good afternoon to you.
01:51What exactly are we learning at this given point with regards to what Stalin has said about the raids against
01:57KN Nehru?
01:59Good afternoon, Shriya.
02:00The important aspect is that, like, the raid against the Tainish was initiated in the morning,
02:04and four teams of the Department of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption are present at KN Nehru's residence,
02:08where, frankly, his members, party members immediately came over.
02:13KN Nehru had to step out and say, please go to the office.
02:15And right now, the president of the party is calling in that, like, while assembly is happening,
02:20such kind of things are continuing in the state of Tamil Nadu.
02:22And he says, like, this only shows the dark side of the democracy.
02:26And he claims that, like, such gimmicks will not cause any fear to KN Nehru or the party's share.
02:34Right, Pramod.
02:35So, this is what we are looking at, viewers, at this given point.
02:38Pramod, I'd also request you to bring us the entire horse trading aspect,
02:42the complaints of horse trading that's been leveled.
02:45There is a high code that what MK Stalin has pointed out is that there is a case already
02:50that's being fought in the court of law.
02:52He's mounted this attack that why is it that we see...
02:57Okay, we'll get our connection back with Pramod.
02:59But yes, the question that MK Stalin here mounts is,
03:01why is it that there is additional raids being launched against an already probed case at this given point?
03:09The probe is underway.
03:10There are several of these hearings that, in fact, have taken place in the high court.
03:17And why is it that there are raids taking place in the parallel against KN Nehru?
03:21That's the question that's been mounted by MK Stalin at this given point of time.
03:26Well, we've been keeping a look at all of these developments coming in from Tamil Nadu since morning.
03:32It's this residence, KN Nehru's residence in Trichy,
03:35that's been under the heat of the DVAC, that is.
03:40And we've been looking at the raids that's been launched.
03:43We're still awaiting the details of what's been found and recovered in the very raids.
03:47And at this given point, this is where the entire matter stands.
03:51Of course, DMK continues to level other allegations as well.
03:55And we have Pramod back with us.
03:56Pramod, just wanting to know a little more about the horse trading complaints
03:59that MK Stalin has come out to refer to in his attacks against the TVK and the government at this
04:08given point.
04:10So, yeah, this is a kind of an issue that's an ongoing issue in particular.
04:13And, you know, this is what, like, the sequence, I mean, former sequence of MK Stalin,
04:17who's also the president of the party, is trying to highlight at this particular point.
04:20All this claim is, like, the people of Tamil Nadu are well aware that to form the government,
04:24they included MLAs from other parties to resign and inducted them into their party right there in the SMB premises,
04:32conducted a horse trading spree, and even tried to register a preliminary inquiry report in the complaints related to it.
04:37So, like, multiple times, the DMK met and met with the governor over this particular issue,
04:42and, like, also cases are still pending.
04:44In fact, even General Paraji was named in a particular case, however,
04:47he got released from the Madras court, and the former chief minister is highlighting all the highlighting of these issues
04:52with the present trade that is happening at the president's rear.
04:56Right, Pramod.
