00:08Over the last six months, the Vaccine Integrity Project conducted a thorough scientific review
00:14of flu, COVID, and RSV vaccines, looking at risk and benefits.
00:23AMA helped the Vaccine Integrity Project convene monthly scientific meetings with leading medical
00:28specialty societies and public health groups to systematically review the latest evidence.
00:34And over the summer, the AMA conducted a Physician's Need Assessment. We also had dialogues with patient
00:41focus groups. All of this was done to help us better understand the kind of vaccine-related
00:47resources that would be most relevant to them and best support them.
01:02So this fall, family physicians recommend the COVID-19 vaccine. If you're older than 19,
01:08we recommend getting the COVID-19 vaccine. This is especially important for people who are 65 years
01:14and older at increased risk for severe COVID infection and those who've never received a
01:19COVID-19 vaccine.
01:20With regard to COVID vaccines, all infants between six months of age and 23 months of age should
01:26receive a COVID vaccine. And children over two years of age who are at particular risk of severe
01:33COVID infection should also get COVID infection, should also get COVID immunization.
01:38This season, ACOG is reinforcing our recommendations for the COVID,
01:42flu, and maternal RSV vaccines based on the very latest safety and efficacy data.
01:56So everyone six months and older should get their flu shot. Adults 65 years and older
02:02should get an enhanced flu vaccine, one that is high dose adjuvanted or recombinant.
02:08Regarding influenza, annual vaccination is strongly recommended for all immunocompromised
02:14individuals aged six months and older.
02:20The RSV vaccine. So people aged 50 and older with high risk conditions,
02:26and everyone over 75 years old should get one dose. This is not an annual vaccine.
02:32If you got one before, you do not need a new one this year.
02:37With regard to RSV, vaccination is strongly recommended as a single dose
02:41for immunocompromised adults aged 18 and older using the approved formulations.
02:55We must restore trust in vaccines. And that begins with reestablishing an evidence-based process and
03:03approach. We want the public to know America's doctors stand behind the evidence-based vaccine
03:11recommendations being released today.
03:15I mean, I would, I think we should, I think they should let them know.
