00:01Now, fans, it's time for the words that are recited before each and every game here at Dodger Stadium.
00:07Tonight, that honor goes to the 2022 Super Bowl champs, the L.A. Rams.
00:12Take it away, champs.
00:13It's time for Dodger baseball.
00:17So what does 2022 have in store for these two teams?
00:21Julio Rios and the Dodgers ready to take on the Giants.
00:24They're balling, slashes this ball to right center field.
00:27Bats with a leaping play.
00:29Save extra bases and perhaps a run with Slater's speed.
00:33The ball is all the way to the wall if he misses it, of course.
00:36And, wow, he had plenty of range because he catches it on the heel of the glove.
00:40Here's Darren Ruff and a ground ball to short.
00:44Kerry Turner flips to Alberto who flips to first, and that's going to be a double play.
00:48No runs, one hit, nobody left after the first half of the first.
00:52Now the Dodgers come up, no score, bottom of the first.
00:54Carlos Rodon, first giant start against L.A. for the left-hander.
01:00And Turner, like Mike said, offers on the first pitch.
01:04Rough to put it away and a real quick inning for Carlos Rodon.
01:07One on and miss, strike three, and there's two out.
01:10Two up, two down in the second.
01:12Both strikeouts.
01:13Tyra Estrada coming up, starting at second base tonight.
01:16Now Tyra lines a base hit right center field into the alleyway, and that's going to go through
01:20and roll all the way out to the 375 marker.
01:23Estrada is standing at second with a double.
01:26Padlo will come up and make his Giants debut at the plate.
01:29Flies the first one that he sees to settle.
01:32He has seven out of seven first pitch strikes.
01:35No score to the bottom of the second.
01:37So two left-handed hitters have come up in the inning, and Rodon has walked them both.
01:42Oddly, and here's the right-handed hitting Chris Taylor.
01:45Here's an 0-2.
01:47Wolf popped out of his hand all the way back there.
01:51Both runners move up 90 feet.
01:53Staring at his hand after the ball went to the backstop like this definitely slips out, and boy, it did.
01:58This is some of the sequencing that the Dodgers have been so good at early in the year.
02:01A couple of walks, get a base hit here.
02:04Taylor shoots from the right center field, and a drive-home two.
02:09Two walks and a two-run, two-out single.
02:12Two-nothing Dodgers.
02:14And right there, Chris Taylor just does a nice job letting Rodon supply the power,
02:19and he just puts the barrel on it.
02:21A two-out base hit brings up Dubon.
02:23Lefty out of Mexico.
02:24Fires 1-2 and strikes him out with a high fastball, his hardest one of the night.
02:29Third strikeout of the game.
02:31Oh, who are you?
02:31The all-star game launched today out in center field.
02:35Several of the current Dodgers, executives from the Dodgers and across the league,
02:40including Chris Marinak, who is the chief operations and strategy officer.
02:44Yeah, we're really excited for the event.
02:45It's a great showcase of L.A.
02:47You know, we think Dodger Stadium is one of the greatest venues in baseball.
02:50It's a great place to showcase the all-star game.
02:52Chris Taylor coming up, and it was Taylor's two-out RBI single in the second inning.
02:57Only runs of the game.
02:58Payoff pitch from Carlos Rodon to Chris Taylor.
03:02That's a fair ball.
03:05Ricochets to Williams.
03:07Taylor hustling to second.
03:08Into the jungle.
03:09He's in standing up.
03:11Two hits.
03:12Both belong in to Chris Taylor.
03:13So here is Hunter Alberto.
03:16Now kicks, throws.
03:17Swing and a miss.
03:18He struck it out.
03:19Back to the slider.
03:20He got strike one with it, and then came back and got strike three with it.
03:24Mookie Betts has flied out to shallow right center.
03:26Swing and a high fly ball.
03:29Coming in to shallow right center.
03:31Dubon, he's got it.
03:33Inning over.
03:34A one-out double by Taylor.
03:35He is stranded at second.
03:36Dubon, who has lined out to right center.
03:38A leaping catch was made by Mookie Betts back in the first inning.
03:43Lifted to left center field.
03:44Bellinger on his horse.
03:46Doug Stewart gets there.
03:49Like he almost always does.
03:51The accuracy of the route makes him not have to use all his speed.
03:56Really appreciates the effort.
03:57Two gone.
03:58Darren Ruff coming up.
04:00Popped up.
04:01In a silo.
04:02Will Smith says that he's got it, and he does.
04:05And on nine pitches, Urias sits him down in order.
04:08Turner on the first pitch both times.
04:10Pop up to first and a fly out to center.
04:13Sharper hit down the line.
04:14That's a screamer off of the bat of Trey Turner.
04:18Easy double.
04:19And does he turn it into a triple?
04:21Not here.
04:21Oh, 15 in the left field corner.
04:23That's got to feel good for Trey.
04:25Trey Turner is in scoring position as Will Smith will come up.
04:29Fastball driven high on the end of right field.
04:31Back into his left goes Slater.
04:33Still going back, and onto the warning track.
04:35Reaches up and makes the catch.
04:36Trey Turner goes back, tags up in second, and he'll move over to third.
04:40But now two down, and here comes Max Muncie.
04:43Swing.
04:43There's a drive into deep right field.
04:45Way back goes Slater on the warning track.
04:48At the wall.
04:48He squares up and makes the catch as he bumps gently into the out-of-town scoreboard in that wall.
04:55The inning is over.
04:56The Giants have a little something going on here in the seventh.
04:59One of the hottest Giants coming up there who's got a good RBI total.
05:03Bringing a little chopper up the third baseline.
05:06Bradroll does one play, and that's the first.
05:08Might as well have been a bunt.
05:10It wasn't.
05:11Second and third, one out.
05:12And the pinch hitter is Luis Gonzalez.
05:15With that, Dave Roberts is going to make the change.
05:18It'll be Alex Vecchia coming on, trying to protect this 2-0 lead.
05:24Left field.
05:26Taylor will catch.
05:29Scoring will be Flores.
05:31And there's your productive out.
05:32It's 2-1.
05:33And that's a good at bat.
05:34He does it at two-strike count when he indeed gets the sack fly.
05:38Luke Williams stepping in.
05:40He is 0 for 2.
05:41Got him with the high fastball.
05:44Dodgers give up just one.
05:45And we stretch in a 2-1 game.
05:47Now the Dodgers looking for some insurance run.
05:50Lead-off double for Hanser Alberto.
05:52And now here's Mookie Betts.
05:540 for 3.
05:552-2.
05:56Blinds on base hit to left.
05:58Alberto stepped in third as Williams got to the ball quickly.
06:02Base hit Mookie Betts.
06:03They've got him cornered with nobody out.
06:05Here's Freeman.
06:07This one gets by Casano.
06:10And Alberto comes in to score.
06:12Betts up to second.
06:13Dodgers get that insurance run.
06:15It's 3-1.
06:16Betts leads from second.
06:18Freeman from first.
06:19Two away.
06:19Muncy the hitter.
06:24Estrada's going to throw him out.
06:26And that'll end the inning.
06:27So the damage is run.
06:29They kill by two.
06:30Tied on a board.
06:32A go-ahead run coming up in the form of Luke Williams.
06:35Breaking ball.
06:35Slept in the ground to short.
06:37Turn it a second in time.
06:39That's the game.
06:41Dodgers 3.
06:42Giants 1.
