00:01On the hill tonight for the
00:02Giants will be the veteran Alex
00:04Cobb.
00:04Cobb 34 years of age and he is
00:07in his eleventh year at the big
00:09league level so far this year at
00:10three starts he's one in one with
00:12fourteen strikeouts at ten innings
00:14he gets five walks to to pitch
00:16Edmonds strikes out swinging
00:18Cobb got him with the splitter
00:19here's Paul Goldschmidt against
00:21Cobb with one out of the bases
00:22empty jam shot right back to where
00:25it came from two down here's
00:28Arnauto at 0 for 3 last night he
00:30does have a lifetime home run
00:32against Alex Cobb 0 2 Cobb throws
00:34Arnauto a comebacker off the
00:36mound to his right to backhanded
00:38Cobb and he'll throw the first
00:40Flores stretches out takes a
00:41throw and that is a much better
00:44start for Alex Cobb he gets
00:46through the first and retires the
00:47Cardinals one two three season
00:49numbers and three starts for the
00:51right hander Jordan Hicks at a
00:53season I 63 pitches against the
00:56Diamondbacks and the Cardinals
00:59slowly trying to build him up more
01:01and more and more a very nice
01:03ovation for Lamont Wade jr back in
01:05the big leagues for the first
01:06time this year coming off the
01:07injured list today 3 2 pitch and a
01:10grounder get to the right side
01:12and Tommy Edmond makes the play
01:14Yastrzemski two for four last
01:16night the two two pitch with one
01:17out swing and a miss Yastrzemski
01:20strikes out um baby on that
01:23fastball Wilmer Flores hitting two
01:25seventy nine and the one one
01:27pitch by Hicks fly ball shallow
01:31right center and that'll be
01:33Bader he'll make the catch
01:35Rufford is batting 2 21 much
01:38better hitter than that the three
01:39one outside and that's a walk
01:42with one out the Strada 0 for 3
01:44last night hitting a 2 28 big
01:49bouncing ball in the right field
01:50the base hit Crawford wisely puts
01:54on the brakes Dickerson was
01:57playing very shallow in right
01:58field first hit of the ball game
02:02and it's a little senile ground
02:04ball to the right side good
02:06hitting Gonzalez two for three
02:07last night and the 0 2 pitch by
02:10Hicks and a ground ball Edmond
02:13to his left no play for the
02:15young to try to turn to puts it
02:18in his back pocket runners at the
02:20corners with two away two outs and
02:24here's Jason Vossler Vossler is
02:26five for his last fourteen slowly
02:29hit hits has it underhands to
02:32Goldie and the Giants will
02:34strand a pair here's Joey Bart and
02:36the one two pitch to Bart and he
02:39struck him out that's what
02:40happened when you throw it only
02:42three out of thirty three or
02:45thirty four pitches is kind of
02:46shocking to me Lamont had an
02:48eight pitch at bat off the injured
02:50list first big league at bat of the
02:51year to start the game there's a
02:54strikeout and that's number three
02:56tonight two in a row just found a
02:58slider huh Mike Yastrzemski two
03:00down base is empty trying for
03:02another zero on that board the one
03:04two delivery to Yastrzemski and he
03:06strikes out for the second time as
03:07Jordan Hicks strikes out the side
03:09near the third inning not allowed to
03:12run yet to the Cardinals and here's
03:13Harrison Bader the pitch a swing and
03:16there's a long one left field that's
03:18headed toward the wall and it is a
03:21goner a home run for Harrison Bader on
03:24a one two pair two nothing Cardinals
03:26so Bader's able to lay off the pitch
03:29and maybe had a good view of it and
03:31then he gets another one and smokes
03:34it the rough is going to hit for
03:36Yastrzemski base hit here could and
03:38should tie the game even with the
03:40good arms in the outfield rough it's a
03:41jam shot to right field a base hit one
03:45run scores they're going to send in the
03:46back runner to throw home not in time
03:49and this game is tied and here he gets
03:53jammed and throws a little dead bird out
03:55to right field and it could have been
03:56more perfect and with a two out jump
03:58everybody scores he shot jelly the
04:01six foot eleven inch two hundred
04:03forty one pound twenty four year old
04:05and tonight he will tie John Rausch for
04:07the tallest big league player in
04:10baseball history at Tapper third
04:12base side fair ball that's terrific
04:16play on both ends one two Dickerson
04:19strikes out swinging got him to chase
04:21the slider in the dirt Bart picks it
04:23up and throws the first to
04:25complete the put out and there's the
04:26first strikeout of Shawn's major league
04:28career here it comes and a broken
04:31back grounder slowly hit to short
04:33charging Crawford he's got it throws to
04:35first he got him and a great first big
04:37league inning for Shawn jelly he's a
04:40giant now figuratively and in a couple
04:43waves literally so Brendan Donovan will
04:46come in and pinch run representing the
04:48go ahead run here in the ninth inning
04:50and the first plate appearance for
04:51Dillon Carlson the 2-1 Carlson base hit
04:55here comes Donovan the throw from
04:58center he is saved Dillon Carlson pumping
05:03his fist as he goes into second and he
05:05puts the Cardinals on top three two here in
05:08the ninth so Giovanni Gallego is coming in
05:11now trying to close him so now for St.
05:13Louis nighttime he's come in he's had
05:15six save opportunities he's converted
05:17five times hard on right he's got a
05:22very good slider fastball sits slow
05:24to mid 90s also got a change up to
05:28the future that could have been who
05:34wants it Bader taking charge they
05:36clear out and he makes the catch well
05:41they cleared out in a hurry didn't
05:42they yeah he wasn't gonna let that
05:44one drop was a serve Estrada one for
05:49three on the ground a fair ball
05:55Estrada is going to put on the
05:56brakes O'Neill getting it back
05:59quickly here's Gonzalez Gonzalez
06:05one for three the 0-1 pitch ground
06:10ball Edmond backhand out there the
06:13first double play and the Cardinals
06:16win it three to two the final what a
06:21ball game here in game two of this
06:22series is the Cardinals hold on for a
06:253-2 win look at how fired up
06:28everybody is up to that play that was
06:29awesome all the infielders at the same
06:32time other than Goldie catching the
06:33ball all pump their fist for that win
06:36that is a big win it's a big hit in
06:40the ninth inning and a great job Gio
06:42right there and a great double play
06:43it's a really really nice win they
06:46got to feel good about this one so
06:48Crawford flied out Estrada the base
06:51hit and Gonzalez for 6-3 started by
06:54the gold lover Tommy Edmond what a job
06:58is a big hit by Tommy
