00:00Hundreds of Star Trek fans are set to gather at London's Science Museum for a World Record
00:06attempt. They'll try to create the largest simultaneous Vulcan salute, the hand gesture
00:11made famous by Spock. The attempt will take place on the 8th of September, known amongst
00:17fans as Star Trek Day. If verified by Guinness World Records, it would create a brand new
00:22record because none currently exists in this category.
00:25The Science Museum says the event reflects Star Trek's long-standing links with science,
00:31technology and ideas about the future. Fans will also have a final chance to experience
00:37the museum's Star Trek Warp Trail, featuring costumes worn by actors, including Simon Pegg
00:43and Sir Patrick Stewart.
