00:00We're breaking news right at the top. All eyes on the Bombay High Court order in Disha Salayan case.
00:05High Court to give verdict on the F.I.R. against Aditya Thakre. Disha's father sought an F.I.R.
00:10against Vasena UBT Neta.
00:11Police says gang rape angle in the Disha probe was ignored. Cops call it suicide.
00:17Disha's family blames Thakre Jr. Aditya calls case politically motivated.
00:22Disha Salayan was a celebrity manager, remember?
00:24She worked as a manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
00:292020 is when Disha fell off the 14th floor of Mumbai High Rise.
00:33And this case, as it still continues to be heard in the Court of Law today,
00:38all eyes is on that court hearing itself for what the court in fact comes out to say on this
00:44entire matter.
00:45That's something that we will in fact keep a close watch at.
00:48But right now we have Vidya joining us on the broadcast with more details.
00:51Vidya, very good morning to you.
00:53So this case indeed has been going on for the last five years now, six years now as we speak
01:01and has had a lot of speculations and debates over it with the probe continuing
01:06and Aditya Thakre facing this case from Disha Salayan's family's side.
01:11But right now, today with the court hearing, we will in fact see which side is it that the court
01:17comes out to rule against.
01:20Well, this is basically a case for registration of FIR.
01:24Satish Salayan, who is the father of Disha Salayan, had approached the court recently and said that
01:29even though he's coming, his arguments were basically Nilesh Ojha, the advocate, had argued that
01:34even if he's coming late, but he still has a right because the fact remains that the allegation is of
01:39rape and murder
01:42and that's one of the reasons why the FIR should have been registered on the mere complaint of Satish Salayan.
01:49However, Aditya Thakre's lawyer, Sudhi Paakbola, argued very clearly that Satish Salayan was only a tool in the hands of
02:00the political gimmick
02:01that had been going on since 2020 and that's one of the reasons why this FIR should not really be
02:07entertained
02:07and that Satish Salayan actually had, you know, he could actually go ahead to a magistrate court,
02:14like follow a legal procedure which is for registering an FIR.
02:17However, in this case, during the arguments we had seen as to how the court had pulled up the prosecution
02:24very clearly stating that it could not have done with inquiries.
02:28When there is a complaint of rape, then there has to be an FIR
02:31and that Satish Salayan has a right to find closure after all these years
02:36and that's one of the reasons why the arguments had been mostly targeted to,
02:40the observations had been targeted mainly towards the prosecution.
02:44The prosecution was very clear that they had made inquiries in this case
02:48and it did not seem like a case of murder and that it was the case of suicide according to
02:53the prosecution.
02:54However, in this case, when an allegation of rape and murder is raised,
02:57the court will really have to look into as to whether a case of an FIR,
03:02registration of an FIR and further investigation is warranted and can be done.
03:08Right, Vidya, thank you for bringing us all of those details.
03:11Viewers, this is the particular case that Vidya has also been referring to.
03:15There has been a lot of back and forth,
03:17but this particular plea is with regards to whether an FIR is required in the case or not.
03:23and that FIR is against Daditya Thakre which the family of the Shalsalayan wanted to in fact register.
03:30That is the entire case.
03:32That part of the case is what the hearing today is going to be about.
03:36Now, as we speak, we're going to keep a very close watch
03:39on how this entire story does unfold in the court of court.
