Sotto: No person behind an alias? Then, it’s a ‘fake name’

Senator-judge Vicente “Tito” Sotto III clarified the distinction between an alias and a fictitious or “fake” name during the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.  Sotto said a name is considered an alias if there is a real person behind it. If no person exists behind the name, he said it is a fictitious or “fake” name, citing Republic Act No. 6085. Sotto added that he made the clarification to set the record straight regarding the previous trial’s questioning of private prosecutor Atty. Mae Divinagracia by Senator-judge Robin Padilla.
