00:00The Murderer's Row lineup tonight is out.
00:02Roman Anthony first.
00:04Mickey M. Gasper second.
00:06Back in the lineup, Rafael Abreu.
00:08Bing, bang, boom.
00:08Mickey back in.
00:09I love it.
00:10Number two.
00:10Hit in second.
00:11Anthony Gasper, one, two.
00:12You know what?
00:13Why it's on the brain?
00:15I got to ask the question that you asked me,
00:17or I think asked to both me and Rich.
00:20Is Mickey Gasper going down?
00:22Is that a Chad Tracy decision?
00:23Who's got the power to send guys down?
00:25Oh, Breslow.
00:27Okay.
00:27Yeah, Breslow.
00:28I mean, I think he asked about it,
00:30but I think it's Breslow and everybody gets together.
00:34And we did that.
00:35We litigated that for weeks when we knew that Anthony was coming back
00:39and what is going to happen.
00:40There is no logical explanation for it.
00:43We knew that Siegler was your guy.
00:45Siegler was probably going to go down.
00:47But, you know, Mickey Gasper now, maybe we know exactly why.
00:52They were all right with it.
00:54You have this guy in the last week and a half,
00:56one of the best hitters in baseball,
00:58and also, by the way, it just, he just fit.
01:01They figured out what he could do really well,
01:03hit from the left side, platoon with Jemai Jones.
01:06That just worked.
01:07So, I don't, if you get that dynamic going,
01:10it's not the end of the world as long as Roman Anthony
01:14is the Roman Anthony we saw yesterday.
01:16And let me get to that because I want to know what your expectations are
01:19for these two guys.
01:21I mean, because you're doing, I don't envy Chad Tracy at all
01:25because you had a team that had a hell of a lot of chemistry
01:27and you heard Wilson Gutierrez the night before they was brought up.
01:32He goes, hey, man, we could use them,
01:33but I want to make sure we recognize the guys that got us here,
01:36you know, that this past couple of months have played their ass off.
01:40And, you know, anytime you bring in anything that mixes up that chemistry,
01:44it could backfire.
01:45But we know how good these two guys are,
01:48and we definitely know how good Roman Anthony can be at the plate,
01:50and you just said it best.
01:51They need someone who can hit home runs.
01:53So, what is your expectations out of these two guys coming back from injury
01:56for the rest of the season?
01:57They looked good yesterday, and Anthony looked good in the minors.
02:01And, you know, like I said before, you know,
02:03I'm not going to put complete stock in any rehab assignment
02:05where once they get here, I've seen it before,
02:08whether it's flip the switch,
02:09and that's sort of how it looked with Trevor Story.
02:11I think the biggest thing is how this whole thing works.
02:14I don't think it has anything to do with vibes or clubhouse chemistry
02:17because I think, number one, those guys are good guys
02:20who get along with guys there.
02:22The bigger thing is you cannot have downturns
02:24from the guys that you've had downturns from.
02:26You can't have downturns from Wilson Contreras,
02:29from Caleb Durbin, from Willio Abreu, from Sedan Raffaella.
02:32It's all well and good that these guys got two hits apiece yesterday,
02:35but it's not going to work, as we found out yesterday,
02:39unless you have everybody playing at a much, much higher level,
02:43which was happening when they went on that heater.
02:4525 games, Rob, until the, well, September 29th
02:49would be the Wild Card Series, right?
02:50I think.
02:5129th, yeah.
02:5229th, yeah.
02:53Rotation would be, correct me from wrong, true, or false,
02:55game one, Sonny Gray, game two, Ranger Suarez,
02:58game three, tonight's starter, Peyton Tolley.
03:00I think that, honestly, it comes back,
03:03it comes down to who's pitching well at the end.
03:06Because if you get, we can't disregard that Ranger Suarez
03:10has an over five ERA in his seven starts since the All-Star break.
03:16That is not a game two starter.
03:18If you have, I don't care what he's done before,
03:22perfect example yesterday.
03:23Hey, you had your chance.
03:25You can put all that, those numbers to the side.
03:27This is your chance.
03:28You know how important that game was, and it was.
03:31It was the most important game in the history of the Red Sox in August.
03:35I heard you say that.
03:36I heard you say that.
03:37It was good for four innings.
03:38Maybe you go four innings and then bring on.
03:40Great, super.
03:41Bring on a piggyback.
03:42Exactly.
03:42Fine.
03:43Great.
03:43Okay.
03:44I mean, if you're good for the first hour
03:46and suck in the second few hours,
03:47nobody's going to be like, hey, like,
03:49oh, you were really good in that hour.
03:51They will sometimes.
03:51Fortunately, you're good on all three.
03:53I shoot for one out of four every day.
03:55So.
03:55Yeah.
03:56Go ahead.
03:57No, I just, I just, I'm worried about Ranger Suarez
03:59because not just obviously since he's come back,
04:02you know, he hasn't been great,
04:03but I just, I glance at some numbers and correct me if I'm wrong,
04:07but doesn't he kind of Peter off as the season goes on?
04:10Like typically aren't his numbers tend to,
04:13they tend to balloon the closer you get to the end of the season.
04:17Wherever.
04:18Throughout the regular season, that might be the case,
04:20but the big thing with him and they believe me,
04:24they started this at the press conference and set it up and down.
04:27Yeah.
04:27This is guy over the last few years has been one of the best postseason pitchers.
04:31He's 11 appearances has like,
04:33I think a one six,
04:34eight ERA has just been absolutely nails.
04:37I get it.
04:37Low heart rate,
04:38all of it.
04:39Like he, he is not blown away by the moment.
04:42He thrives in that environment.
04:44So that is what they're pinning their hopes on when it comes to Ranger Suarez.
04:48Even if he has,
04:49like you said,
04:49the regular season downturn,
04:51the problem is I come back to like yesterday.
04:54It's not hyperbole.
04:56This was an enormous game for them.
04:58You had the tire breaker at stake.
05:00You had a four game swing,
05:02basically one way or the other because of it.
05:05So,
05:05and he didn't come through.
05:07How did you see the one play?
05:09The one play everybody's talking about.
05:10Oh my goodness.
05:10What did you,
05:11was it a catch?
05:12Did that have been an excuse to kind of,
05:14you know,
05:15fall apart like they did?
05:16No,
05:16there's no excuse to fall apart,
05:18but I,
05:19it is a mind blowing when I look at that last night,
05:23then again this morning,
05:25and you're just looking at over and over and over again,
05:27and you're seeing all the reaction from social media.
05:30And I,
05:31I put up the image of Tom Brady walking in or walking out of the stadium,
05:35right?
05:35It's there's,
05:37that's what we're dealing with.
05:39You have plenty of people online who are saying,
05:42what are you talking about?
05:43That wasn't a catch.
05:44Then you have plenty of people online saying,
05:46what are you talking about?
05:47That is a catch.
05:47Now I will say this letter of the law.
05:51I think that it is a catch.
05:53I think that,
05:54I think that he kept his glove underneath the ball just enough,
05:58kept enough leather on it.
05:59But the problem is,
06:00is that I don't begrudge them for making the call that they did because they
06:04make the call.
06:05It's a tough call for the umpire to make this beyond this.
06:07If we're doing this hard,
06:08if we're doing this,
06:10like then it's a tough call for the umpire to make.
06:12And then is there enough to overturn it?
06:16And if we're still sitting here thinking,
06:18well,
06:19it might be,
06:19it might not be for a lot of people on,
06:21on socials,
06:23then,
06:24then it's not enough to overturn it.
06:26So nobody wants to hear that,
06:27but I think that's the reality of it.
06:29Okay.
06:29But agree or disagree.
06:30Tracy should have got tossed no matter what.
06:33Wow.
06:33You protect your guys.
06:34You show,
06:34you got some spine,
06:35you show them the other side at the stadium and you get thrown out of that
06:39game.
06:39So Zidane is not upset and yelling at Masoko or whatever his name is at
06:42first base.
06:44Sure.
06:46Maybe they lose 15 to one instead of 16 to one.
06:48I don't know.
06:49We could have stopped after.
06:50Sure.
06:50Yeah.
06:51All right.
06:52Rob,
06:53were the Yankees being dicks at the end of that game yesterday?
06:57Yeah.
06:58I think that that was ill-advised for jazz Chisholm to steal.
07:03And if you hit home runs off Andrew Monasterio,
07:06you're not going to not hit home runs.
07:08This is how baseball is.
07:09It's an individual game played in the team sport.
07:12You're,
07:12you don't want to make outs.
07:14That's just a fact,
07:15but you know,
07:16jazz Chisholm,
07:17that's not an instinctual play.
07:18I don't think by any stretch of the imagination,
07:21now,
07:21meaning that he was,
07:22he was told to steal.
07:23They weren't holding him on.
07:24Yeah.
07:25Yeah.
07:25They weren't holding him on.
07:26You know,
07:26what is the infield was in like,
07:28or whatever it was though.
07:29They weren't holding him on.
07:30I'm sorry.
07:30They weren't holding him on.
07:32And it was a six run game at that point.
07:35It was.
07:35Yeah.
07:35And so they'll say,
07:37well,
07:37it's a six run game.
07:38It's not that much.
07:40Okay.
07:40Whatever.
07:42But I would like to see this.
07:44Like,
07:44I would like to see this.
07:45It gets spicy again between these two.
07:47Yeah.
07:47Whatever way,
07:48whatever way it is,
07:50even if it's just words like this,
07:52go with this.
07:53The baseball is better when the Yankees and Red Sox are getting a little spicy.
07:56We can eat more villain.
07:57We need villains on our side.
07:59Other than Will Fleming.
08:00We need like,
08:00we,
08:01they have Jess Chisholm and they have cam Schlittler.
08:04So like,
08:05well,
08:05the Schlittler thing is a perfect example,
08:06right?
08:07When he was going with,
08:08and he's not afraid to speak his mind.
08:10And when he was ripping the Red Sox and whatever,
08:12the Red Sox fans were like,
08:14okay,
08:14let's go.
08:15Yeah.
08:15Like that is,
08:16that is the great thing.
08:17And,
08:18and,
08:18and think about this,
08:19that,
08:19that we kind of lost that for a while.
08:21Remember,
08:22even 18,
08:23you had judge going by with a boom box outside the New York,
08:27playing New York,
08:28New York outside the club.
08:29That's kind of bad ass.
08:30Yeah.
08:31Yeah.
08:31Well,
08:31okay,
08:31let's go.
08:32Like,
08:32and you know,
08:33there's a reason why Joe Kelly's showing up so we can remember,
08:36remember the image of him standing over a Yankee getting ready to pile.
08:41When's Joe Kelly going to be here again?
08:43I think he's flying in now.
08:44Okay.
08:45I've agreed him at the airport.
08:46Tell me about that.
08:47Tell me about your big day that you got.
08:49It's on Wednesday,
08:50right?
08:50The Wednesday.
08:51Yeah.
08:51Yeah.
08:52Yeah.
08:52Who else is coming in?
08:53It's the first time Bradford's ever missed the promo.
08:55I was going to say,
08:56I feel like I was right down the middle.
08:58No,
08:59listen,
08:59I'm trying to slow play.
09:00Hey Durbin,
09:01let's go with Lorenzo.
09:05I put it on the plate for you,
09:06bitches.
09:07Let's go.
09:07What is going on on your big day?
09:09Wednesday.
09:10So Wednesday,
09:11we fortunately,
09:12we sold out the Red Sox sold out.
09:15Yeah,
09:15it was,
09:16that was awesome that we sold out.
09:18A thousand tickets,
09:18right?
09:19Yeah.
09:19Whatever it was.
09:20Yeah.
09:21So I thought it sold out from getting the offer,
09:23getting the baseballs and boring Jersey,
09:24but I appreciate everybody who got that and it's going to be part of it,
09:28but that's just the beginning of it.
09:29Obviously,
09:29Joe Kelly's throwing out the first pitch.
09:31There might be,
09:32I'm working on a very,
09:33very,
09:34very special person to catch his first pitch.
09:36So we're doing that.
09:38But also the base,
09:39everybody go over to Cisco Brewers over right next to Fenway park.
09:44After the game,
09:45Joe will be there.
09:46Rich,
09:46he'll be there.
09:47I'll be there.
09:48Everybody will be there.
09:49And it's a great sense of community.
09:51Three o'clock starts.
09:52It was probably six,
09:53four,
09:5310,
09:54four o'clock,
09:54four,
09:5510 game.
09:55But it's,
09:55it's the whole day.
09:56It's going to be awesome.
09:57I really appreciate everybody.
09:59You know,
09:59the one thing is,
10:00is like you understand the sense of community that you have and,
10:03and the,
10:04the people who have gotten involved in this.
10:06And yeah,
10:06it's fun to like to have Joe come out and throw the first page and do all
10:10this stuff.
10:11But it's just like a really,
10:13really cool thing.
10:14And I appreciate your guys support too.
10:15And because of you support it so much,
10:18baseball's in boring jerseys on the way.
10:20you got to wear them that day.
10:23You got to wear them that day,
10:24right?
10:25Okay,
10:25let's go.
10:26That's the reason we do it,
10:27Trevor,
10:27just for the merch.
10:29Yeah.
10:29We're cutting off the sleeves for Ted.
10:31I mean,
10:32I mean,
10:32between that and heated rivalry a day on the same week,
10:36I mean,
10:37now heated rivalry has a dance floor that they just put a lighted dance.
10:41If we don't get a video of you dancing on that,
10:44we aren't trying.
10:45We don't get one for baseball's a boring night.
10:46I mean,
10:47there's a lot going on in baseball's a boring night.
10:49I can't guarantee there'll be a lighted dance floor.
10:51Yeah.
10:52Damn it.
10:54But it's staged to your own event.
10:55Oh,
10:55no,
10:56no.
10:56It's just a different things.
10:57It's going to be great.
10:58It's going to be a great week.
10:59And,
11:00and like I said,
11:01it's just,
11:02it was,
11:02it's just when we,
11:03Red Sox agreed to do it.
11:06It really is an example of,
11:08yeah,
11:08we can have this night's like heated rivalry night and Pokemon night,
11:11whatever.
11:11All there's a lot of people coming,
11:13Noah Kahn night,
11:14whatever it is.
11:14but to have one night to just say,
11:16Hey,
11:17you listen,
11:17this is why you come to the game because a baseball means so much to so many
11:22people.
11:22That's why we started the whole baseball is a boring thing.
11:25And,
11:25and I said from the bottom of my heart,
11:27thank you so much for everybody for being part of it.
11:29Oh,
11:29hell yeah.
11:30All right.
11:30Well,
11:31that's going to be awesome.
11:31And you can go see Rob Bradford,
11:34Joe Kelly,
11:35and the crew after the game over at the Cisco breweries,
11:38right down the street.
11:39Do I need to know somebody to get into that?
11:41Do I got no,
11:42no,
11:42no,
11:43not only do you,
11:43you,
11:44you go in,
11:45everybody gets a sticker,
11:46you know,
11:47every,
11:47I mean,
11:47like everybody,
11:48it's just a cavalcade of gifts and good vibes.
11:53Like,
11:53come on by,
11:54let's go.
11:55Oh,
11:56it sounds like a good time.
11:57Just anything to just cleanse our palate from the crap we had to sit
12:01through.
12:03It's going to be a great week.
12:06By the way,
12:06just walking over here,
12:08Peyton totally walked out to the mound barefoot and,
12:11just stands on the mound,
12:13just staring straight ahead.
12:15Oh man,
12:16that guy is the best.
12:17He's just,
12:17he's just infiltrating the stadium with his musk.
12:20He's just like,
12:21he's like a lion peeing on his territory.
12:24It's just a musk.
12:26Oh,
12:26like takeover at Fenway park and Bradfield with footage of Curtis Mead
12:30glove on no cast.
12:33No cast.
12:33Yeah.
12:34Throwing out there.
12:35Here we go.
12:36They're all coming together.
12:37I don't even know what that means.
12:39Like,
12:39I don't even know what to expect now.
12:41Curtis Mead's going to,
12:42I can only take just enough people coming back to the team at once.
12:45Like,
12:46here we go.
12:46Yeah.
12:47So either way,
12:48let's just,
12:48hopefully they can do something and their pitching can get all straight.
12:51And we don't have Regis Suarez vomiting on his shoes.
12:53And,
12:54and the Yankees don't embarrass us when Monasterio is on the mat.
12:57I saw something crazy.
12:58Like this year,
12:59there's been more pitches under,
13:02it's like 60 miles per hour than any other year,
13:05because more people are using like position players to pay.
13:08You know,
13:08who holds the record for slowest strike ever is Brock Holt.
13:12Brock Holt.
13:13He holds two records.
13:14Yeah.
13:14The only guy who was hit for a cycle in the postseason game and slowest
13:17strike ever thrown.
13:18What do you,
13:19what was it?
13:19What was the speed?
13:2032 miles an hour.
13:21Oh,
13:22hell yeah.
13:22Hell yeah.
13:23Monasterio brother has the fourth,
13:25fourth high.
13:26He has a 68 ERA.
13:28I think it's still the fourth highest ERA.
13:32There's been other position players have been worse than him.
13:34Yeah.
13:34Is Bay was a starter count?
13:35Cause I mean,
13:36that would be excellent point.
