Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, to attend the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. Upon landing at the airport, he was received by Kasymaly Adilbek Alishevich, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, and was greeted with a traditional Kyrgyz dance performance along with an interaction with the Indian diaspora. A major highlight of the visit is a scheduled bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the summit. The crucial discussions are expected to focus on India-Russia economic relations and fuel supply stability amid global energy disruptions caused by the Middle Eastern crisis and blockages at the Strait of Hormuz. The summit will also highlight Prime Minister Modi's 'SECURE' vision for the SCO, focusing on security, economic collaboration, connectivity, unity, sovereignty, and environmental cooperation.

01:23which is a big bilateral meeting that is on the cards, that is likely to take place.
01:30Now, who is it between? It's between Prime Minister Modi and the Russian President Putin.
01:36It's a crucial meeting if it does indeed take place as it has been scheduled and been put on the
01:41cards during,
01:43in the sidelines of the SCO Summit. It is going to come in at a very crucial time.
01:47There has been enough conversation about India's economic ties with Russia,
01:52especially when we speak of the fuel supply.
01:55And the fuel supply has been, in fact, under scrutiny as well as spotlight,
02:01given the entire Middle Eastern crisis that had completely taken control over the Strait of Hormuz
02:07and disrupted it and blocked it, cutting short the entire world's fuel supply for that matter,
02:13which is when India's diversified, the diversification of its fuel sources had really come in handy.
02:20And Russia has always been quite an important source on that very front,
02:25which is why this meeting shall be very crucial on that very aspect,
02:28and several others as well when we speak of India-Russia ties.
02:32Now, on that note, we have Pranay Upadhyay joining us on the broadcast with more details on the same.
02:36Pranay, we're looking at the Prime Minister having arrived at Kyrgyzstan,
02:40this next stretch of, the next leg of his tour abroad at this given point.
02:46And it is for the SCO Summit that he's there.
02:49While the SCO Summit is very crucial, take us through what we're looking at
02:52in terms of the entire theme and what exactly shall be the focus of the summit.
02:58At the same time, I would also want you to bring us some details about the big
03:01Putin-Modi meet that's also on the cards and what's expected out of it.
03:07So, Shriyad, this is the 21st anniversary year of the SCO, Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
03:13India became full member of the SCO in 2017 onwards.
03:19And, in fact, India hosted SCO as well.
03:20And this is an important grouping, which consists of around 11 countries
03:24and almost 16 dialogue partners.
03:27So, it is expanding and it comprises of Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan,
03:3315 other dialogue partners as well.
03:36So, definitely, this is an important organization of regional cooperation.
03:40In fact, for the anti-terror cooperation as well, this is also an important organization
03:46in terms of the Asian solidarity, in terms of the Asian partnership.
03:50But, having said that, India is an important partner, an important member of SCO.
03:57And, in fact, India coined the word secure, which is a secure SCO.
04:02In fact, this idea revolves around security, economy, trade, connectivity, and, in fact,
04:08unity, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity and environment.
04:12So, this is the Prime Minister Nareen Modi's vision.
04:15In 2018, he gave this vision for the SCO Secure SCO in Qingdao of China.
04:21And, thereafter, Prime Minister participated in various SCO summits.
04:25And, in this summit has been Prime Minister Nareen Modi is participating.
04:29This is an important South Central Asian outreach of India,
04:34because many Central Asian countries are founding members of SCO grouping.
04:39And, as I mentioned, it is also an important organization in terms of our regional connectivity,
04:44in terms of the regional partnership and economic collaboration.
04:48In fact, there are 37 documents proposed to be signed and adopted,
04:52including the Bishkek declaration and protocol for amending the SCO charter,
04:57which is on the agenda for the Leaders' Summit.
05:00And, as you rightly mentioned, that Prime Minister Nareen Modi is likely to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin.
05:04And, in fact, these next 10-15 days are going to be very important in terms of the geopolitical turbulence,
05:11because these two meetings, one, the meeting of SCO countries in Bishkek,
05:16and, thereafter, within 10-15 days, India will be hosting a BRIC summit,
05:20for which President Vladimir Putin is also expected to travel to India.
05:24Besides that, Chinese President Xi Jinping is also expected in India to participate in this BRIC summit.
05:29So, for shaping the alternative world order, how the global governance can be reformed,
05:35so these are the important ideas which can be, you know, which can be pursued in this SCO summit.
05:41But, besides that, Treya, we must notice that, you know, you can recall that the Tianjin summit,
05:48which took place last year, after that...
