00:02Business has been tough on Monero Street.
00:06Since the road closed in March for upgrades, foot traffic has been slow.
00:11There is only days that are good and there are a lot of days that are dry.
00:17No customer at all. So that's one of the problems, plus the road closure,
00:22because if there is a road, of course there's a lot of walk-ins.
00:24Everybody suffered, you know, 10 to 20 per cent down, but there was recognition that we were part way through
00:30and they were just bogging in, getting through it.
00:34But Queenvian's Mayor says progress is going well.
00:39Anyone who's driven down there would have seen we've been laying asphalt.
00:42You can see the road coming out of the ground.
00:44There is one final layer that will be going over the top of what's there, so it's not quite finished.
00:48So people coming down and have a look, don't panic.
00:50The final stage of the upgrade will see intersections at Low Street and Crawford Street close.
00:56That will cause a bit of friction for the community again, so there will be traffic plans to accommodate that,
01:01but where we sort of understand and operating in this environment now, that's going to change.
01:08But not everyone is concerned.
01:10We've seen how people did manage to get to us when it was really difficult coming from this direction,
01:16so they still very wonderfully found a way to get to us, so I think they'll probably still find a
01:22way.
01:23Especially with the end in sight.
01:25So we're aiming to have an opening party at some point in December.
01:28We haven't locked in the date just yet, but we are on track for the end of the year.
