00:00All right. Speaking of the draft, they took a running back very, very high,
00:04and they're going to pay him a lot of money in Jeremiah Love out of Notre Dame.
00:08You okay with the selecting of a running back that high?
00:11I think the biggest way you could insult me is to call me a hypocrite,
00:15and yet I am the biggest hypocrite in the world on that pick.
00:19You do not, under any circumstances, draft a running back with a top five pick
00:24unless it's Jeremiah Love.
00:25I think that kid is that special, and it's not just what I saw at Notre Dame.
00:31It's what I learned.
00:33I may or may not have somebody that used to be working in the Notre Dame somewhere.
00:40I'll just say somewhere in the organization, and he speaks glowingly about them.
00:44Then I read his parents are both retired military, retired St. Louis cops.
00:50I don't think there's a lot of wusses that are St. Louis cops.
00:53So when I see that discipline that he gets from a military parental background,
00:59when I see the support he has from his family, but I also see the grades,
01:05and then I see the way he ran the football at Notre Dame,
01:09and then I know the stories behind the scenes of how his teammates felt about him.
01:14I see a complete package, and he's not afraid to block, and he can catch.
01:18So, yeah, if it would have been anybody else, I would have said, no, this team is terrible.
01:24Why would you get a running back before the offensive line?
01:29Why would you do that before this, before that?
01:31Well, here's this.
01:33What if Mendoza's actually pretty good?
01:37Are you really going to be upset you drafted Gentee too early?
01:41Everybody says, don't draft.
01:43I didn't love Gentee myself, but it's still the point if you're anti-running back.
01:48What if the Cardinals get their quarterback next year, or what if they have him?
01:54Then you're going to be thrilled you've got Jeremiah Love.
01:57Okay, so let's talk about what happened at the Hall of Fame game.
02:01Are you buying Carson Beck?
02:04Do you think Carson Beck is the quarterback of the future?
02:07He played pretty well in a scrimmage, let's be frank, as to who he was facing, and a very
02:13vanilla defense from the Cardinals, or sorry, from the Panthers.
02:16Carolina's not going to play like that during the regular season and get burned over the
02:20top as consistently as they did in that football game.
02:22But do you think Carson Beck has a shot?
02:25You're going to laugh at me because I'm your Cardinals insider.
02:28I don't know, and I don't care.
02:29And here's why.
02:30He was a third-round pick.
02:31I think that's perfect.
02:32If they would have drafted him in the second round, I would have had a problem with it.
02:35I love him as a third-round pick.
02:38He has looked almost as good in practice.
02:41If I was rating practices, the Hall of Fame game was his best practice.
02:46But there's a lot of the old, if you remember the Sean McVay offense with Jared Goff, not
02:52with Stafford, lots of boots and waggles, lots of just get the ball out quickly and simple
02:59reads.
02:59That's a lot of what we're seeing with LeFleur right now in practice.
03:04And it's funny, Carson Beck has not been great in practice at some of the boots and
03:10waggles.
03:10And all of a sudden, he lit it up and did really well in Carolina.
03:14So I think Jacoby Brissett's going to start the season.
03:18And I do believe that you're going to see very early on enough of Carson Beck for the
03:24Cardinals to get one question answered.
03:26Are we in desperate need of a quarterback in the 27 draft, or are we in moderate need
03:32of a quarterback, or are we not in need of a quarterback?
03:35And they're going to give him enough time to figure that out.
03:38So do I think he's the guy?
03:40No, I don't know.
03:42Maybe.
03:42But I don't think anybody has to know until January of 2027.
03:48I don't think anybody has to know until January of 2027.
