00:00Now it's to sit down with the cast of Outer Banks.
00:02Hi, everyone.
00:03The fifth and final season is officially streaming,
00:06but we're not ready to say goodbye.
00:08Y'all have come a long way from season one.
00:11How has life changed since then?
00:12Oh, my gosh.
00:14Immensely.
00:15I mean, I feel like I've gone from, like, literally being a kid
00:18to, like, kind of growing up and grew up on this show,
00:21like, made a lot of amazing friends and learned a lot, grew a lot.
00:26I mean, we've all been through so much together that first day.
00:30We were all so excited and scared and nervous together.
00:35And it's interesting kind of growing into it and growing up with each other
00:38and still having those same feelings with everyone.
00:42Spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't finished last season,
00:45but the Podes were missing one of their own.
00:48JJ, who met his untimely end in the season four finale.
00:51Did it take a while to adjust to not having Rudy on set?
00:54I think there was, like, we're, like, missing a little comedy,
00:56but also it wasn't a lot of room to tell a lot of jokes.
01:00It's a really serious storyline this year,
01:02and I think as shocking as it was,
01:05it was also, unfortunately, the catalyst for the rest of this season.
01:09So, you know, as much as they did miss, like, JJ's, like,
01:13like, his quips and one-liners.
01:15If we have to make a getaway, we'll just hop on some horses.
01:18Guns a-blazing.
01:19No, we're not horsebacking with guns.
01:21Scratch the horses.
01:22It really was a driving force between why our characters do a lot of the things that they do.
01:26You know, there was an adjustment, but I think that also is the point.
01:30You know, that's what the characters are going through.
01:33They're adjusting to not having him around,
01:35so all that just kind of works its way into the performances.
01:38Jonathan, can we talk about Pope getting into smoking weed in jail?
01:42Awfully funny timing,
01:43since you're about to play Snoop Dogg in his upcoming biopic.
01:46Did the irony of that cross your mind?
01:49Uh, I think it crossed all our minds.
01:51I was like, I went to the writers, I'm like,
01:54oh, Pope getting high, I wonder why.
01:57But I try to not put any of what I'm doing for Snoop into Pope's high,
02:02because I feel like they're two totally different headspaces when it comes to that,
02:07so I try to make it feel like what it would be like if Pope was high
02:11and not give it too much Snoop.
02:13What memories do you have from the final day on set?
02:15They're all really blurry.
02:17For some reason, they're like not in focus.
02:20I don't know why.
02:21I did cry a lot.
02:22An embarrassing amount of tears were falling from my eyes.
02:27It really starts to set in that this is like the last time
02:29we're going to be doing this show forever,
02:31and it's like a wash of emotions.
02:34It's sadness, but it's like a strange feeling of like,
02:37relief isn't the right word.
02:39Like the best thing I can equate it to is like when you graduate school.
02:42Yeah, the waterworks definitely started to come after that.
02:45So many tears.
02:47Now, be honest.
02:48Who cried the most?
02:49Either Chase or Madison.
02:51Definitely, those two are the big criers.
02:53That's what they say.
02:54We couldn't know.
02:55Nobody was like counting tears.
02:57They're deflecting.
02:58They're deflecting.
02:59Look over there.
03:01We're still mourning it, but we're still here in it.
03:05It's like it felt like the last day of filming, and it was cherished.
03:08It's like you say goodbye.
03:09Can you say goodbye to somebody, and you walk the same direction to your heart?
03:12I know.
03:13Yeah.
03:14One more spoiler alert for season five this time.
03:17How do you all feel about how your character story ended?
03:20Are you happy?
03:21His whole storyline took a lot of twists and turns that I didn't expect
03:24when I first came onto the show, I'm not going to lie.
03:26It was very shocking and exciting, because who doesn't want to have that much money?
03:36New house, new car, new man.
03:38Same man, new car.
03:40That's true.
03:42Same man, new car.
03:43I agree with Carly, too.
03:45I'm happy.
03:46Oh, and new baby.
03:48She's strong and very resilient, and I guess she passed those genes along to the baby.
03:54I think I feel okay about it.
03:56I think after last season's ending, I really didn't know what Kiara's end would look like,
04:03and the fact that we finished it with a smile on her face, like, I'm good with that.
04:08He's a person that is in constant pursuit of some type of love and connection,
04:14and I think ultimately in the end, he gets that.
04:19So yeah, I think it's wrapped up nicely.
04:21Finishing out his arc, I would say, in a way where he gets to have a happy ending was really
04:26nice to see.
