00:07use the platform's Take a Break feature before Meta made it the default setting for teens in
00:13September 2024, according to Reuters. Mosseri said most teenagers did not want the feature,
00:19which encourages users to close Instagram after set periods of time,
00:23but the company moved forward with it anyway. Mosseri denied knowing of efforts to scrub
00:29internal presentations or shield him from problems and said he wanted child safety information
00:34to be accurate, expert-backed, and fully shared with him. He also said Instagram centralized
00:41sensitive research about teenagers after the 2021 Facebook Files leak. His testimony came during a
00:47trial involving 29 U.S. states accusing Meta of harming young users and improperly collecting
