00:20Homeland Security Minister Raj Alexander is heralding a new era of peace in Porto, Spain and across the country after
00:29Cayman and Plumpy Boss called a truce and vowed to keep the peace on behalf of themselves and their communities.
00:38You see two of them sitting here today. There are thousands, hundreds of people in that area who's ready to
00:49make that change.
00:52I told them this is the beginning of their opportunity for a second chance to make their first impression.
01:07We are asking all the persons from Lavantel, Mova, Maloney, Tunapuna, other areas that have issues to embrace that change.
01:20Embrace the vision of peace.
01:22The minister says the push for peace came from within the communities a few months ago, with some members reaching
01:29out to him to facilitate.
01:31We are African youth. Everybody came from that kind of environment. Listen, we don't want our legacy to be killers,
01:41shooters, robbers, rapers, you know, invaders. That mustn't be our legacy.
01:46And you mustn't be driven by a number. Why a number have you deciding what you should do with your
01:52life or what you should do with another man's life?
01:56Why a number? We don't see numbers in here. Again, we see people, we see citizens. And I told him
02:04that was the case. And if you're all serious, let's get rid of the number. Remember this guy here? Remember
02:10he had a number attached here?
02:13You hear what he's calling himself? Now he's Cayman only.
02:16Cayman, formerly known as Cayman 6, seconded the minister's appeal and took the opportunity to deliver a message to the
02:25youth.
02:25I'm not seeing this, you know, like, fault. I know, like, a war starting back. I'm not seeing that at
02:31all. I'm seeing everybody, you know, like, genuinely happy for what's going on right now.
02:37To the youths of the future, the life of crime only had two things in it. Poverty and death. Anybody
02:45who live a life of crime will tell you they regret it.
02:47Both Cayman and Plumpy were previously charged with being gang members under the Anti-Gang Act and are both survivors
02:55of gun violence, with Cayman surviving two attacks back in 2023, one of which claimed the life of an innocent
03:03woman who was struck by a bullet while inside her home.
03:07Meantime, back in 2024, Plumpy was shot several times after performing in St. Martin. Several Trinibar artists have succumbed to
03:16gun violence over the years.
03:18Cayman and Plumpy will both take the stage tonight at the Summer Stage Concert, marking a significant turn in Trinibar
03:26history.
