00:00tell me let's start with milwaukee first how in god's name is milwaukee milwaukee with the players
00:07that they have on that team i mean the rotation is spectacular i get it but if you ask the
00:13normal
00:14baseball fan to start a lineup how many guys on that milwaukee team would be on your team right
00:21now on your fantasy team i mean outside of like a couple dudes like kristin yelich on that team
00:27i can't name a guy how are they and how are they where they are right now you know i
00:35i think
00:35milwaukee and tampa bay a lot like this teams that have smaller markets that really not kind of need
00:41to grow within that's one of the big reasons they didn't go out and acquire trike scoobal i disagree
00:46with that decision personally because if you're a factory and you're producing guys left right and
00:49center push the chips all in when you have that window but regardless their floor every single
00:55year is extremely high because when you look at who's out in center field louise lara just got
01:00called up this year he looks like one of the best center field gloves in all of baseball he tracks
01:05down
01:05every single line drive every single fly ball makes jumping leaping catches and then at second base up
01:12the middle bryce terrain is one of the best second baseman defensively in all of baseball and both of
01:18those guys profiled out and just kind of like weak contact hitters when they were prospects and bryce
01:23terrain is certainly coming to his power louise lara we will see but ultimately they just focus so much
01:29on the fundamentals defensively and with that contact hit tool and then they also build pitching
01:34around just their approach every single time out and every single one of their pitchers just benefits
01:40tremendously from it we saw quinn priester last year get acquired for five hundred thousand dollars and
01:46turn into like an all-star level pitcher that's the factory that the brewers are do they have those kind
01:52of
01:52upside superstar level talents to actually go out and win a world series every year that becomes the
01:58question but ultimately their floor is so high because of what they do right let me go to seattle
02:04here and give you a an opinion if you think this floats cal raleigh is the engine that really moves
02:10that seattle mariners baseball team when you get to a point where like they did down in atlanta years and
02:16years ago with dale murphy where they took him out behind the plate and they put him in another position
02:21for him
02:21to be able to go out potentially in dh when do you start doing that where you need this guy's
02:26bat more
02:27than you need him behind the plate and i get of all position players in major league baseball he's
02:32really graded as the best position player in the most important position and that's behind the dish
02:39but when do you start having to look at that kind of calling it like a pitch count where you
02:44maybe put
02:45them out there in a different position behind not behind the plate as many times do you think
02:50seattle needs to go down that lane you know you got to try something ultimately which is unfortunate
02:57because when you look around major league baseball at all 30 rosters for 25 24 of those rosters the
03:03catching position offensively is a black hole like you're you're sacrificing that part in your lineup
03:09for the defensive element of the game which is so important in terms of controlling the ground game
03:14controlling the running game controlling players trying to steal bases off maybe a slow delivery pitcher
03:19and cal raleigh was exceptional in both of those regards for more than just last year by the way
03:25he's been kind of consistently good for a couple of years in a row now until this season and now
03:31it's
03:32just such an unavoidable black hole in your lineup where ultimately what do you do do you just kind of
03:37say hey we have a run-of-the-mill catcher now and we got to kind of build up the
03:41other areas well
03:42julio rodriguez has kind of taken a step back offensively this season as well which is kind of the thing
03:47that
03:48doesn't go get talked about when kyle raleigh has had this so stark drastic drop off immediately so
03:55ultimately you got to do something i i think the the best plan and approach is just kind of almost
04:01treat kyle raleigh's outlier year as that an outlier year and just fill the bats in around him and hope
04:07that he can kind of regain some of that offensive you know element to his game
