Professor Adam Scaife from the Met Office says that the El Niño weather pattern developing above the Pacific Ocean looks like the biggest event of its kind "in recent history, the biggest in living memory". Scientists say El Niño, which naturally occurs every two to seven years, could lead to drought in some regions and increased rainfall in others. Report by Keechl.
