00:00I'm here at Colbrook Immigration Removal Centre. It's an incredibly important part of our detention
00:05estate and absolutely critical to our ability to remove people from this country who have no right
00:11to be here. We're very clear as a government that we've got to address the pull factors that draw
00:16people into this country and removing those who don't have a legal right to be in our country
00:21is absolutely key to that and I'm very pleased to be able to announce that under this government
00:26we've got removals of people with no right to be in this country up over 80,000 now under this
00:33government. That's a 52% increase since we've been in government and it's actually the highest number
00:39since 2016 so our performance on removals from the country has gone up very significantly. It's going
00:46in the right direction. Places like Colbrook are absolutely critical to our ability to do that
00:52and it's also why we're expanding our detention estate as well so that we can go further and
00:57faster in the future as well.
