00:02Census night wasn't straightforward for York Peninsula resident Carina Cullen, who didn't receive her login information in the mail.
00:10Well I didn't receive one, and I didn't get a letter with a number to do it online.
00:17And she's far from alone.
00:19A number of people went into our local post office assuming that maybe they had gone there, so it's definitely
00:24not, I'm not the only person in my area that didn't receive one.
00:27In Ms Cullen's community of Artherton, and other nearby towns like Maitland, locals say that situation was a common occurrence.
00:35These aren't remote communities, you know, Artherton is an hour and a half from Adelaide, so it's, you know, you
00:40can't, it's unacceptable that they didn't receive the hard copy census forms.
00:43The local MP says he had about 80 residents contact him from across the electorate, which covers over 90%
00:50of SA, to say they hadn't received their letters, or they needed help to fill out the census.
00:55We've got examples in communities, communities such as Port Pirie, where on one street only one person who doesn't actually
01:03live there got their census form, and no one else did.
01:06The ABS says anybody still waiting to receive their form, or who needs help to complete their census, won't be
01:12fined.
01:12It says it's aware of the issue and forms are still being dropped off in some areas of the York
01:17Peninsula.
01:18The ABS says there's still time to complete the census and help is available.
