00:00to advance water development model that combines economic growth with environmental projection.
00:05In Anhui province, our correspondent Bruno Falci visited projects that show how this policy is being implemented on the ground.
00:12Here is his report.
00:16Along the Yantze River, in Anhui province,
00:20Shuejawa Ecological Park has become a reference for environmental restoration.
00:26Covering around 60 hectares, this area was transformed for degraded land into a green space dedicated to the protection of
00:36nature.
00:40The comprehensive protection of the Yantze River is a priority for the municipal government.
00:46Since 2018, our fishermen began leaving the fishing industry and moving to land.
00:51The government had to relocate them and provide training to help them develop new professional skills.
00:58After this process was completed, pollution in the Yantze decreased.
01:02We also closed small businesses and docks along the river and restored those areas.
01:07What was once a dirty and distorted environment has now become a great and attractive space for the public.
01:13Environmental restoration also transformed the relationship between the population and this area.
01:19Today, Shuejawa Ecological Park receives more than one million visitors a year
01:26and has become a new tourist attraction along the Yantze River.
01:31Here today, we see a perfect example.
01:34What a great job they've done with restoring an ecological park and creating a beautiful environment
01:41environment from something that was previously polluted area with unsafe housing, waste dumps, hazardous chemical plants and industries.
01:50Affecting the environment is just amazing how they've created new jobs for the fishermen,
01:56clean up the area and restore it for it to become a beautiful tourist destination for locals and visitors alike.
02:03I'm really impressed and I wish my country did more efforts like this.
02:07In the heart of the Yantze River Delta, the protection of water resources is combined with new proposals for wellness
02:16tourism.
02:17In Guangdong, water quality has remained at optimal levels for three consecutive years,
02:24while the city seeks to turn its natural resources into a driver of tourism.
02:34At our center, we present the history of the base as well as intangible cultural heritage and other local tourism
02:40resources.
02:44One of the main elements in this traditional fun-making craft of the Wang family,
02:49a tradition that arrived in the city in the late Qing dynasty and has more than a hundred years of
02:54history.
02:56It is the only national level intangible cultural heritage in Guangdong.
03:01Each piece requires at least 30 processes to make,
03:04and the products are exported to Europe, the United States and Southeast Asia.
03:08From Yantze River to Lu Kun Reservoir, the protection of water and nature has transformed territories,
03:16created new opportunities for those who once made their living from fishing,
03:21and promoted a model of sustainable tourism,
03:24a process that the Communist Party of China presents as part of the construction of an ecological civilization
03:32and better living conditions for the population.
