00:00It was productive, it was good.
00:02You know, we were able to hit a bunch of different situations,
00:04offense, defense, special teams.
00:06We did four minute, two minute, move the ball, red zone.
00:08There was a lot of productive stuff, so really good day.
00:12Are you still getting pushed by this defense almost on every snap?
00:16Yeah, but it's back and forth.
00:18It's, you know, the offense will win a couple of plays and the defense steps up
00:22and makes a couple of, like, it's been a lot of back and forth.
00:24It's been good, so it's good for the Bengals.
00:27A lot of short stuff today, not really stretching the field with that height.
00:29By design, or is that what the defense was giving you guys?
00:31Yeah, I mean, our offense, I feel like, is built on, you know,
00:34taking what the defense is going to give us, and that was it today.
00:37So we were, you know, just kind of taking some of these, you know,
00:42intermediate and short gains, and, you know, we moved our way down the field.
00:45We got into the red zone and moved the ball period,
00:46and then when we got into the red zone during that last, you know,
00:51team period, whatever, we were able to punch it in, so it was good.
00:53How soon did you get the practice film on your iPad?
00:57Not yet.
00:58Probably, like, another half hour or so, probably like 1 o'clock.
01:01Are you eager to see the play?
01:03I don't know if I'll have an angle from there, but, I mean, I saw it firsthand.
01:09I mean, I know what it was, but I had a nice talk with the official.
01:14We made up.
01:15Don't worry about it.
01:15Who were those?
01:16Were they college officials?
01:17It wasn't appropriate.
01:18Yeah, I'm not sure.
01:20I'm not sure.
01:20But, yeah.
01:21What happened there with the foot?
01:26I just caught one, like, on, like, the one-inch line, and then my feet were in,
01:33and I just kind of, like, crossed the pylon.
01:35But he said that my foot was out.
01:38And then I said some crazy things to him, and I went up to him afterwards.
01:43I apologize.
01:44We're friends now.
01:45But, no, it was good.
01:46What is the next step when you go up?
01:48You've been through joint practices before, Mike.
01:50What's the next step that these practices take when you're growing up against another team?
01:55Yeah, I think it's just good to go out there and see different looks.
01:57I mean, we've been going against our defense, so we see, you know, similar looks every day.
02:00We're seeing the same players, you know, trying to beat the same guys in man cover.
02:04It's just things like that.
02:05So, now we get, you know, different scheme, different players, different tendencies.
02:09So, just, like, a bunch of new different looks.
02:12And it's fun to just go out there and compete against a different team.
02:16You guys haven't done this in a couple of years now.
02:18Is there, like, the appetite for a joint practice has kind of ramped back up?
02:23Is it a little exciting?
02:25Yeah, no, it's exciting.
02:26It's always exciting.
02:27My first year here we did two of them.
02:29And then last year I don't think we did one.
02:31But it's good.
02:33Like, I mean, it's always competitive.
02:35That's always the biggest part.
02:36It's good for, you know, both teams.
02:39And at this point in training camp, I think it's the perfect timing.
02:43Yeah.
02:44It's rare because they are kind of unusual.
02:47But you're seeing the Bears twice in three years.
02:49Yeah.
02:50Does that add to the competitive nature?
02:52Not too much.
02:54Really just, you know, just playing against a different team.
02:57That's the most enjoyable part.
02:59Was there a major change or ramp up in the mental side of things
03:02or the scheme side of things this week specifically or not?
03:06No.
03:06I think, you know, we've been kind of adding to our repertoire here and there.
03:10But for the most part, you know, we're not reinventing the wheel
03:14or doing anything like that.
03:15You know, our offense is what our offense is.
03:16But we've been adding, you know, a couple different things.
03:20And that's what training camp is for.
03:21We've been experimenting and trying to do some different stuff.
03:23And it's been productive.
03:25It's been good.
03:25But it's August 18th.
03:27You know, we got a long ways to go before, you know, this thing gets real.
03:31So, still a lot of work to be done.
03:34Was the SEC refs out there today?
03:36What was going on in the team?
03:37I'm not – me and that ref are now friends,
03:40so I can't say any more bad things.
03:44But we had a nice friendly argument and now we're okay.
03:48We've been wanting to get to know this video.
03:48Go, go, go, go.
03:48Go, go.
03:48Go.
