00:00The Giants bringing in Najee Harris today is interesting, not just because of what it
00:04means in August, but because of what it tells you going back to March, when the Giants were
00:09interested in free agent Kenneth Walker before his price became out of their range, or when
00:15they were doing pre-draft work on Jeremiah Love in case he fell to number five and was
00:20available with their pick before he went to the Cardinals at number three.
00:24It tells you that they like their running back room, they don't love their running back
00:28room, and I know fans are all jacked about Cam Scadaboo, and I know that Tyrone Tracy Jr.
00:34has had back-to-back thousand-yard seasons from scrimmage, and I know Devin Singletary,
00:39quite frankly, has had a very good camp, and that sounds like, oh, okay, we've got three
00:43running backs, but Tyrone Tracy missed the pass block that led to Jackson Dart getting walloped
00:48on Saturday.
00:49That's a no-no in John Harbaugh's land.
00:52He's not going to play a running back on third downs if he can't trust you in pass protection.
00:56So yes, this is a depth move, but this could also be a carries move.
01:00Najee Harris isn't just a warm body.
01:02He's a player who's had four straight thousand-yard rushing seasons with the Steelers against John
01:08Harbaugh's Ravens.
01:09They know each other well.
01:10That's one of the NFL's best rivalries.
01:12Then he went to play for John Harbaugh's brother, Jim, with the Chargers and Torres Achilles
01:17last year early.
01:18So this is a visit to see where he's at physically, to get some medicals on him, and see if
01:24he could
01:24help the Giants in an actual carry situation, not just as a backup down the depth chart to
01:31replace Dante Miller.
