Here’s a clip from The Mind of Sai Marie podcast featuring the incredible Heather Henderson, former Big Tech insider and author of Reclaim: How to Stop Scrolling Through Your Life and Start Living It. In this episode, we dive deep into the invisible and high-stakes world of the attention economy and the quiet ways digital design shapes human behavior.

We explored the intricate layers of Big Tech algorithms, the weight of digital overwhelm, and how the journey to reclaiming our physical presence mirrors our own search for creative sovereignty and inner choice.

Heather shares her insights on taking back our power through intentional awareness and the resilience required to rule one’s own destiny—both on our screens and in life.

00:00At the core of your work is a single transformative question.
00:03Did I choose this or was it chosen for me?
00:06How does this question help us step back and recognize where our agency actually lives?
00:11Technology is not the enemy.
00:13It's unconscious living.
00:15We aren't even really feeling like we're in control of our life anymore
00:18because these small micro moments end up shaping our experience.
00:23We confuse learning with progress.
00:25We feel like when we consume more, we feel productive.
00:29If you find that you're like jumping from course to course, you're not finishing books,
00:34you're reading something really cool, but you never actually take aligned action in your life to apply it,
00:40that's where it becomes growth theater.
00:42And so I have a one-to-one rule that helps people where it's as simple as this.
00:48Apply one idea before you consume another.
00:51I really feel like growth comes from action and not accumulation.
00:55I love that.
00:56I always kind of said the same thing.
00:58You know, you can learn a lot of things, but if you never apply them,
01:01then it doesn't really actually make any difference.
