00:00When Polestar got rid of the rear window on this car, I thought it was a gimmick,
00:03but it's quickly become one of the most popular EVs in Australia, and it's easy to see why.
00:08I don't know about you, but I've started to see heaps of these Polestar 4s on the road
00:11as I ran the sales numbers, and I found out something that's pretty staggering.
00:15In some cases, it's outselling its German rivals by more than two to one,
00:18so I guess the question is why?
00:19Well, I think first impressions really matter when it comes to design,
00:23and Polestar knocked this one out of the park.
00:24Removing that rear glass means that it's more stylish than an SUV,
00:27and it's just as practical, especially in those rear seats, so let me show you.
00:30Engineers pushed the roof header beam right back behind my head,
00:34and that creates heaps of headroom in one of the biggest glass panoramic roofs that I've seen in any car.
00:39Then instead of a normal rearview mirror, you get an HD camera mirror,
00:42and it actually has a wider field of view than a normal rearview mirror,
00:45and that makes it super easy to see.
00:47Let me show you the reversing cameras, because these are some of the best I've ever seen.
00:50Look at that.
00:50But what gets you across the line is the materials used inside the cab.
00:54This material on the seats, on the upper dashboard, on the doors,
00:57is a mist-knitted, tailored upholstery that feels super premium.
01:00And I haven't even mentioned the sound system.
01:02A 16-speaker, 1400-watt Harman Kardon sound system that I think beats any of its German rivals.

01:13All the inputs are just bang on.
01:15The steering, the brakes, the accelerator pedal tuning, the suspension,
01:18and you can even customize a lot of this stuff through the drive modes up here.

01:22When you add in the 590 kilometers of range, DC fast charging,
01:26it's really easy to see why the Polestar 4 is beating the Germans at their own game.
