00:19The Strait of Hormuz will not reopen until the United States meets seven conditions set by Iran.
00:27That is the latest warning from Iranian parliament speaker Mohamed Bagher Ghalibaf as tensions over the vital waterway continue to
00:37escalate.
00:38Ghalibaf said Sunday that Iran's position is completely clear and firm,
00:44insisting that the Strait will remain closed until Tehran's seven conditions linked to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding are fulfilled.
00:54Of course, it is not just the Zionists trapped in a state of utter desperation and helplessness.
01:01The Americans too have grown desperate when confronted with the steadfast resistance and resolve of the Iranian nation.
01:08While publicly projecting a different narrative, they have recently reached out with proposals through secret intermediaries.
01:16But they must realize that the era of stalling for time and dictating one-sided demands is over.
01:24The position of the Islamic Republic of Iran is completely clear and final.
01:30And until our seven conditions based on the Islamabad agreement are met, the Strait of Hormuz will not be opened.
01:37He also revealed that Washington has recently sent proposals through a mediator.
01:43But Ghalibaf says Iran will no longer accept what he described as a prolonged process or one-sided demands.
01:52So what exactly is Tehran demanding?
01:55First, Iran wants the United States to lift its maritime and naval blockade on Iranian ports.
02:03Second, Tehran is demanding the release and restoration of Iran's frozen assets.
02:09Third, Iran wants sanctions on its oil exports removed.
02:15Fourth, Tehran is calling for an end to all U.S. actions carried out under the justification of threats or
02:22military operations.
02:24Fifth, Iran demands an end to the war and military aggression against Iran and its regional allies,
02:32including what Tehran describes as fighting on all fronts.
02:36Sixth, Iran wants U.S. military forces withdrawn from areas surrounding Iran's borders.
02:44And seventh, Tehran demands compensation for the damage inflicted on Iran,
02:49along with guarantees that Washington will not interfere with Iran's nuclear and missile capabilities.
02:56These demands are closely tied to the Islamabad MOU,
03:01a 14-point interim agreement reached in June through Pakistani and Qatari mediation.
03:08That agreement had envisioned a temporary easing of hostilities,
03:13the lifting of the U.S. naval blockade,
03:15and safe commercial passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
03:19But the understanding later collapsed,
03:22with both Washington and Tehran accusing each other of violating its terms.
03:27Now, Iran is once again linking the reopening of Hormuz to the fulfillment of those commitments.
03:34Tehran has also discussed a seven-day roadmap
03:38under which the Strait could begin reopening before a final agreement is reached.
03:44For Iran, the message is clear.
03:47No full reopening without guarantees and concrete action.
03:51And with Hormuz carrying a major share of global oil and gas shipments,
03:57Tehran's conditions could have consequences far beyond the region.
04:01The question now is whether Washington will accept Iran's demands,
04:06or whether the standoff over one of the world's most important energy choke points will continue.
04:27We'll see you next time.
