On recommence.
01:15C'est un système.
01:17C'est pas un système.
01:20OK, Stuart, c'est un Citroën challenge.
01:23What have you got to say about Citroën ?
01:24Citroën, c'est le world famous Research Institute in Sheffield, England.
02:13Damien Guillou.
02:14Il y a André Allodolo, qui est derrière.
02:17Il y a...
02:17Ben voilà, mon ancien bateau, il est là, là.
02:20C'est celui-là.
02:21J'ai dit...
02:22Ah non, non, non, pardon.
02:23J'ai confondu.
02:24C'est des Rushler 36, alors...
02:26Je me suis faite un problème.
02:31La plupart des gens sont solos,
02:34par exemple.
02:35Et les autres sont avec un ou deux.
02:39Donc, je ne sais pas.
02:41C'est très intéressant.
02:43OK.
02:44Nous allons se concentrer sur les bateaux,
02:45donc...

07:36Damien.
07:38Ah, non, c'est trop près.
07:40Ah, c'est trop près.
07:42C'est trop près.
07:42C'est trop short.
07:44Oui, il a juste drifté à travers.
07:46C'est bien.
07:47Vous devez donner l'instruction dans deux minutes.
07:52Non, non, c'est OK.
07:54C'est complètement drifté.
07:56Oui, mais il a besoin d'instructions.
07:58Hey.
08:00Vous devez être sur l'autre côté.
08:02C'est le start line.
08:03Il se fait pour і bien.
08:04C'est intéressant.
08:05Il new, c'est endorsement.
08:07La診ité ça va mieux.
08:08Oui, c'est intéressant...
08:09Il n'y a seulement à l'조pris init.
08:11C'est dingue.
08:14C'est dingue.
08:16Le start line est désolvée.
08:19C'est
08:19C'est maravilant.
08:22Il est désolvidé.
08:23C'est dingue.
08:24C'est dingue.
08:33Il n'y a pas de start line, on va aller pour ça.
08:40Damien, il ne comprend pas l'anglais.
08:43Damien, vas-y direct!
08:53C'est le GGR, go, go!
08:56Va direct!
08:58Just go, go the start line!
09:06Ah boy, I'm not sure whether you're copying this live, yeah it's ok, yeah.
09:14Just go!
09:16I'll just do a round and just see, make sure.
09:20Il n'y a l'angolo là-bas?
09:20Oui, je vais lui dire, je vais lui dire.
09:34Juste go !
09:35C'est bon, on y va direct ! Tu vas direct, Andréa !
09:39Oui.
09:40Tu vas direct, direct !
10:09Ok.
10:28Juste go.
10:29Juste go.
10:31Juste go.
10:31Yep.
11:42So, just to get a commentary, in case you're getting it,
11:44number 37, which is Pah, on Lazy Otter, Ertin's old boat.
11:49Swiss boat, he hasn't got his new mainsail yet.
11:52He's got the old mainsail, so the branding will be on the new one.
11:55He's now leading the start.
12:09And then Andrea is doing pretty well.
12:12He's now coming second.
12:16He's second, and then that's OE32, Oleander.
12:20And with ESA on board.
12:22Okay.
12:24C'est Andrea, qui est là.
12:36Alors là, surprise.
12:40Il y a rien qui dit, où est-ce qu'elle est en quartier ?
12:43No, but they are saying what's this pack-up,
12:45because they are doing a great start,
12:47and then you ask them to turn up around.
12:49So, this is what they are saying.
12:51When you ask them to turn around.
13:01Hey, Alara, have fun.
13:05Who's that ?
13:32Yeah, the commentary's a bit tricky.
13:34I don't even think we're live.
13:35But anyway, I'll slow down here a bit.
13:38So, we've got a bit of a mix-up of the start.
13:41The start boat moved around a little bit,
13:44and it was a bit tight to get them all through,
13:46so we dissolved the start line after the start gun,
13:49and said they could do whatever they want,
13:52and just make for the mark.
13:54You look great !
13:55Etienne is getting ready with his spinnaker now.
13:58I'm not sure.
13:59Probably a code zero or something to get that going.
14:04and Daniel in the Israeli boat.
14:07Oh, you've got a big...
14:08That's his big solent he's getting out.
14:11Looking pretty smart.
14:13Then we've got Daniel.
14:15Daniel in his green Biscay 36 with Dominic Dubois on board.
14:27Give him a hand.
14:29Make sure he's all set to go for the actual real thing.
14:32So, yep, looking pretty good.
14:35Looking very good indeed.
14:38So, there's a good shot.
14:42Not a lot of breeze.
14:43It's dying out a bit.
14:44It's meant to fill in a little bit to about 12 to 15 knots,
14:47but there's not quite that lot at the moment.
14:50Not quite that lot right now.
15:02There's a good bunch of boats there, so...
15:08Certainly, you don't need to worry or be concerned about the weather,
15:10but it's a good trial, that's for sure.
15:12So, there's the GDR, which is part of the Pletons,
15:17and there's four who have already been caught,
15:22such as Andrea Lodolo, such as Daniel Diou.
15:30The GDR, who is there, on the left.
15:34What is the GDR now?
15:37Is it a Turkish?
15:39Yes.
15:55Ok, c'est bien, c'est bien.
16:10I'm trying to look at relative speeds of the boats, but it's, oh we don't want natural light.
16:26If you want I can drive you, tell me where you want to go.
16:30Oh we want to go there, back again, they're spitting out again, I was getting the group shot, it's ok.
16:38So, we'll do, it's ok, I'll come down here and do a round of the tail enders and then we'll
16:44work our way up through the leaders.
16:47Mara's back here, just chugging along, Pat's down the back as well and so is Matt on Disco 36.
16:55So, a lot of people will be saying where's Mara, where's Mara, showgirl.
17:00So where is she?
17:01Just here.
17:02A bit of a late start getting organised, but anyway, nearly there now.
17:07Yep, yep.
17:09That's Mara.
17:11So, that's Mara.
17:16And Bimini, hello, have fun.
17:21Have fun.
17:24Yep.
17:35Okay, and then over here we've got the start boat and then we've got the little guy.
17:47having a sail.
17:50Alright.
17:54Guido, on his Vancouver 34.
17:59Looking okay.
18:06Talion entry, prepared the boat really well for the 22 edition, but never made it.
18:11Had some personal issues, so now he's looking a lot better.
18:15Looking a lot better organised, seems to be pretty happy.
18:18He'll be happy to get sailing.
18:27So, that's pretty good.
18:28They all look like new sails, eh?
18:31They actually look pretty good.
18:34But there's not a lot of breeze and I think there's a bit of current.
18:38The tide coming in, is the current this way?
18:40Yeah.
18:40Yeah, so they've got a bit of a head current.
18:52Light winds.
18:54I guess Damien's a light wind boat.
18:57I don't know where he is Damien.
19:04The boats need a little bit more wind to get cranking, but they're doing okay.
19:09And we'll go and have a look up here in a minute.
19:12The mighty pumpkin, Gunner, from the UK, but he's American.
19:18So, there you go.
19:22He's doing okay.
19:27Dominic, on the other side.
19:30We'll work our way up to the leaders.
19:32We've got Matmut, ex-Matmut, now Beagle.
19:36Miss Beagle, still pacing with the rest of the fleet.
19:44And...
19:49Olyana's climbing her way up there in this light wind.
19:54Yep.
19:56Yep.
20:02I'll do a 360 around him.
20:04So...
20:06...
20:07...
20:13...
20:14...
20:48...
20:59Okay
21:04Oliana's are gaining in there, so he's coming third at the moment. It's only quite well for the light breeze,
21:09so that's pretty good.
21:10...
21:14Who's the first one? Who's on top of the thing? Who's on top of the prologue for now?
21:19Damien's there and then Lazy Otter and then Oliana.
21:24Okay.
21:25So they're looking all right. And boat speed, boat for boat, Oliana's pretty quick at the moment.
21:31Huh?
21:32Oliana's pretty quick at the moment. They've possibly got a little bit more breeze. There's a puff come through here,
21:37which has kept them going, so that's not too bad.
21:40Are you still live?
21:41I hope so, but I'm not sure.
21:43Half of the Simon's style Yacht Club is watching you to see these boats from...
21:49Probably are.
21:49...
21:49...
21:49...
21:51...
21:52...
21:52...
21:52...
21:53...
21:54...
21:56They're doing pretty well, actually. So...
22:01...
22:01...
22:02Ok, on a cruise back there on the way back again.
22:06So, but it's pretty clear, look at that bloody jeeper.
22:10You look at his head sail at the moment, that's amazing.
22:13Cool, Damien.
22:15Yeah, he's got a really good sail on there at the moment.
22:20Very cool.
22:23So, this guy's out to win the race.
22:25One, two, three.
22:27He's absolutely out to win the race.
22:31That remember me the last GGR?
22:33Yeah.
22:34Damien on top of the scene all the time.
22:36Yep, absolutely.
22:40Absolutely.
23:00Wave, wave.
23:02Wave, wave.
23:08Ok.
23:10So, yeah, moving.
23:12That's a pretty impressive set of sails there.
23:15Right, here's the rest of the world.
23:22We will, we'll keep the live going, we'll do one more sweep.
23:25Jane Jane, we're going to sweep down the fleet again and then we'll stop it when we get a bit
23:30down, a bit down further.
23:32So, Issa from Canada, Jeremy Banks are the original owners on board, this boat's done three of the, each of
23:38the GGRs, first time with RV, he lost the mast off Cape Town and now with Issa, Jeremy did it
23:48in 22, finished but it was in Chichester class.
23:52Must be a funny thing for him, don't, to be on board Oleana, the boat he finished the race a
23:57few years ago.
23:59Absolutely. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
24:01Then you've got Andrea over there, another Rustler 36, which is a mock-up of Jean-Luc Manet, he's a
24:07winning boat.
24:08He copied the rig, copied the sails, went to the same people and got that together.
24:14Then we've got Ertan, look at that mainsail, jeepers, the mainsail was actually made by Graham from the 22 edition
24:22of the, of the GGR, but there's some pretty impressive sails there, they were brand new on the boat, they'd
24:29never been used when he bought the boat, it's quite an amazing story there, but anyway, he's looking pretty, pretty
24:35hot.
24:38Pretty hot, yep, for sure, look at, the head sails are looking a bit full at the moment, the shooting
24:45angles are so safe, oh, the others are slipping through without us, so we're going to quickly dip over there
24:51and let them sail past, the breeze has got a little bit stronger, so they're sailing pretty well.
24:56I'm going to send a picture of Ertan to Graham.
25:01Oh, jeepers, they'll be crying.
25:02Yeah, yeah, if you can take a picture.
25:06Yeah, yeah, yeah, did you get one?
25:08Yes, for that time.
25:10Yeah, yeah, yeah.
25:11Oh, you want to get another one?
25:12Yeah, yeah, yeah.
25:12Okay.
25:13I don't have it.
25:13Okay, I'll, alright, we'll go and get it right now.
25:17As you want.
25:18Yep.
25:20Just send that to Graham.
25:22Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
25:25So we're coming back again.
25:27I'll do a, the mainsail is pretty impressive, the head sails, sorry, sorry.
25:32Okay.
25:32So, but the mainsail is pretty good.
25:35Yeah, it's on the other side.
25:36Other side, yep.
25:38Yep.
25:56You get it?
25:56Nope.
25:58Hang on, I'll just, I'll cut, stay there, I'm going to bring it to your side, okay, and
26:02I'll do a slow pass, and then we get the shot.
26:20Okay.
26:21Yep.
26:21No problem.
26:22Yeah, pretty good looking mains, yeah, because even the genoas are not bad, they've got plenty
26:27of foam in the luff.
26:28I'm surprised that more aren't doing it.
26:29It's old performance technology, but some of them have forgotten about it as time goes
26:34by.
26:35I think in, yeah, anyway, so that's pretty cool.
26:39And then we'll come over here.
26:43Now the breeze puffed down a little bit.
26:47That's Seb driving the support boat for Damien.
26:51So, yep, Seb driving the support boat.
27:00Hello, hello.
27:07Okay, so there you go, jeep, it's a nice code, it's not even a code zero.
27:12Or is it?
27:13No, that's his furling lightweight.
27:15So looking pretty good.
27:17I'm coming around the starboard side, jeep team.
27:30Now give us a wave.
27:42Yep, looking pretty good.
27:44That's Cape George 36 sailing with the Royal British Legion.
27:47He's still employed by the Army in the UK.
27:50It's part of adventure training.
27:53And a very well prepared boat.
27:55Sistership to Kirsten's boat.
27:57We've got a couple of Cape George 36s.
27:59We lost one.
27:59Steve, who was coming with another one, got beaten by time and had to return in the middle
28:06of his prologue.
28:07So Guy DeBoer's right up there.
28:09So Guy DeBoer's sitting in the front here, a beam of Henry, which is amazing.
28:13So that's looking all right.
28:16He's got a shorter mast as well.
28:18He put his own bowsprit on it, which is a bit smaller than usual.
28:21Ended up on the rocks after Lanzarote, of course.
28:24Huge hole in the side of the boat.
28:26They dragged it off with a truck.
28:27And then he rebuilt it over about a year.
28:30And so he's now back in the game and very happy to be here.
28:34He's got a Hydrovane plus a Monter Windpilot on the back.
28:38So he's doing okay.
28:41You're doing okay.
28:42Okay.
28:45So they're all having a bit of fun.
28:49That's one of the beauties, you know.
28:50They're all 32 to 36 foot boats.
28:52They're all heavy displacement.
28:54Long keel, rudders on the trailing edge.
28:56So every one of them's got a chance of winning the GDR.
29:01You know, it's not out of the question.
29:03We're all having a bit of fun.
29:05So we will go through the fleet now.
29:09Working our way down the back.
29:14So all good.
29:15Mighty Pumpkin over there.
29:17We're actually doing okay.
29:18But yeah, not too bad.
29:23Rifting along.
29:25There's a difference in some head sales though, when you look at bits.
29:28So Daniel.
29:30Looking very good.
29:31Really well prepared boat.
29:32Great guy.
29:33Sailing for Israel.
29:35All that sort of stuff.
29:36And himself.
29:37Good luck, eh?
29:39Have fun.
29:41And there's Matt.
29:42Now you look at the head sail on Matt's boat.
29:45On his Cape George 36.
29:47And it's vastly different than Damien.
29:52But he's going to get there.
29:53He's lived on that boat forever.
29:56Hadn't owned it for 14 years.
29:58Or 12 or 14 years.
29:59Basically just did a big refit for the GGR.
30:03Loves his boat.
30:04Come on Grandpa!
30:07He's a great guy.
30:09And he's got a voice right like Porky the Pig in the bloody Disney.
30:13He's so funny.
30:15Anyway, he's a pretty nice guy.
30:17Pretty nice.
30:18Yeah, he's just like the Porky the Pig cartoon.
30:20You know, anyway.
30:22So that's kind of nice.
30:24And then we're coming back again.
30:27Oh, jeepers.
30:28Etienne doesn't like light airs on the Tradewind 35 for sure.
30:34So we've got Mara coming up.
30:36Mara and Etienne are side by side really.
30:38And behind them we've got, we've got, jeepers I'm getting mixed up now.
30:48So anyway, here comes Mara.
30:51Not quite clean up the rear.
30:53See ya!
30:54Have fun!
30:55Bye bye!
30:55Under the Dodger.
30:57So the Bimini.
31:01And caught in a bit of a wind hole at the moment is Etienne sailing for orangutans.
31:07Orangutans.
31:07He's supporting their cause.
31:10And Pat's sailing for Parkinson's.
31:12And we will do up as much as we can for Citran.
31:18So here's Pat on his Saga 36.
31:22Drifting along not with much breeze.
31:24A bit lumpy in here.
31:26Yep.
31:27There's Pat.
31:29With a brand new Aries.
31:30He's got a brand new Aries.
31:31Hello, Pat.
31:31Good trip.
31:38Yep, looking okay, but they're wishing for more breeze.
31:42So it's a little bit patchy.
31:44Anyway, it'll be fun to watch the tracker.
31:45Hopefully the trackers are all going well.
31:47And there's Bernard, 69, from Swiss entry.
31:53So.
31:58Au revoir, Monsieur.
32:01We're actually looking after Mako, his dog.
32:03He's got, those two have got the best dog in the world.
32:05After Branko.
32:06No, the best is mine, though.
32:08Yeah, I said after Branko.
32:09I said after Branko.
32:11It does a job.
32:11He's got a clean bottom though.
32:12That's shiny.
32:13That's pretty good.
32:14And I must admit the colour is growing on me.
32:17In the beginning I thought, oh jeepers, but not too bad.
32:22Okay, well we'll see him in three days.
32:24So that's pretty good.
32:26One last one down here, which is Salim.
32:28He took his entry on Endurance 35 that he completely rebuilt.
32:32I won't say he bought it as a wreck, but it wasn't a glamorous boat.
32:36He completely rebuilt it back to brand new, basically.
32:40And it's built solid to get to the finish line.
32:44So he's pretty, pretty happy with the boat.
32:47And he had a late start here, so that's why he's Tail End Charlie.
32:52The boat should perform reasonably well.
32:54They're so big a boat they can carry the weight.
32:56You know, they can absolutely carry the weight.
33:00So, there he comes.
33:03Yeah.
33:04Good luck, eh?
33:05Have fun.
33:06Have fun.
33:09Zip around there.
33:11So that might be the end of the live.
33:13I don't even know whether we are live.
33:15So, remembering it's the Citroen Challenge.
33:17It's a bit of a thing whenever we have a prologue.
33:19And this is a trial for equipment.
33:21They'll be working there.
33:24Those seven entrants that are participating in the GGR window live will be on a schedule,
33:31which you can see in some of the posts down on Facebook, exactly when they'll be on air.
33:35He has the biggest French flag.
33:37Yeah.
33:39Absolutely.
33:39Absolutely.
33:41And then we'll be doing Satcom checks, tracker checks, all sorts of different things.
33:46And they'll be getting photos and videos of all sorts of things as well.
33:50So, looking good, eh?
33:53Okay.
33:54What's this guy?
33:57I'll stop here and let him do a sail by.
33:59Gene, Gene.
34:00He's just going to sail past.
34:03I don't know if we are live or not, but just in case we are live, I'd let people to
34:08watch this boat passing by the screen of Jane Jane.
34:13Just watching the boat, watch the sails, watch this guy half naked on board.
34:18Yes.
34:19It's exactly like being back to the...
34:22Before...
34:22Yes.
34:23Before the...
34:25Oh, wait.
34:27Okay.
34:28It's my first race.
34:30Okay, first.
34:31Okay, that's good.
34:32You're coming last.
34:36She's a classic.
34:37Yeah.
34:38No t-shirt, no modern equipment.
34:40Yeah.
34:41No money.
34:42Just...
34:42What I'll say is he could...
34:44Back to basics.
34:45It's so beautiful.
34:46Yeah.
34:47The amazing couple.
34:47I'm feeling like it was the year of my birth, 75.
34:50Yeah.
34:50When I see these guys getting a start.
34:52It's the first time I see Les Abderon.
34:54A guy's getting a start of a race half naked.
34:57How about the man?
34:58It's a crazy story.
34:59Yeah, it's very beautiful.
35:00And this is the spirit of the GGR.
35:02Absolutely.
35:02Absolutely.
35:02The back story for Salim and his wife is that he's got another boat.
35:09He's cruising boat.
35:09It's a...
35:11You know, built here in Les Abderon from Alibat.
35:13Okay.
35:14A really nice one.
35:15Built this one for the GGR.
35:17He could be a very wealthy man, but he's not because he's been...
35:21Buying boats like you?
35:22No, no.
35:22Not the boats.
35:23He does a lot of work for free.
35:25Has done over the last 25, 30 years.
35:28Goes to countries, does all his surgery work, all that stuff for no charge.
35:31Because he's a doctor.
35:32For children.
35:33Yeah, yeah.
35:33He...
35:33A lot of the...
35:34A lot of his colleagues, you know, usually you make a lot of money.
35:37He doesn't because he does a lot of stuff for free.
35:39Okay.
35:39You know, he goes out for months at a time into different countries and supports.
35:43Yeah, we finished the live now, so...
35:45Okay.
35:46Did we sign off?
35:47Yeah.
35:47Bye-bye, everybody.
35:49Bye-bye.
35:50Say goodbye, Jean-Luc.
35:51I'm not sure whether we're live.
35:52You got Stuart?
35:53Everyone in the back?
35:54Okay.
35:55No worry.
35:56Thanks, Jingjing.
35:58If you are not live...
35:59Everyone okay?
35:59Bye-bye.
35:59Bye-bye.
36:00Bye-bye.
