Minister for Housing and Planning, Matthew Pennycook, says that he was “shocked” when he heard the news of former Cambridge professor Jason Arday’s death. The Labour MP goes on to say that whilst the “events leading up to Arday’s death raise questions, now is not the time to rush to judgement on any of those questions” as it’s a “time for reflection”. 00:00I think the Prime Minister is absolutely right. This is a tragic case, desperately, desperately
00:04a sad case. I was shocked when I heard the news. I think first and foremost of Mr Arday's
00:09friends, but his family in particular leaves two children without a father. I think the events
00:15leading up to his death raised questions, raised questions about duty of care, about the nature
00:20of modern media scrutiny. But the Prime Minister is absolutely right that now is not the time to
00:24rush to judgment on any of those questions. It's a time for reflection, for us to think,
00:28I think, compassionately about the family who are coming to terms with the loss of a loved
00:32one.
