Exchange Student Surprises Host Family With An Unannounced Return

Some reunions arrive without warning, and the smallest details can make the moment feel even more real.

The clip shows Krittanakorn arriving at a home in St. Francis, Wisconsin, as the door opens and his host parents realize he is standing there. They step forward immediately and pull him into a long embrace, holding on as they greet him.

“I’m from Thailand, and I used to be an exchange student in this town for 9 months during 2022–23. The first 3 months weren’t very good because I was staying with a host family that didn’t really take care of me. But after I requested to change families and moved in with this family, it became the best 6 months ever. And this year, in 2026, I decided to come back to America as an intern for summer. This time, I even brought my older brother from Thailand to meet them. I also asked my brother’s girlfriend to record this video for us. I decided not to tell my host parents that I was coming today, so they were completely surprised—and even blamed me for not warning them earlier because they didn’t prepare any food for me! But that doesn’t matter,'' Krittanakorn told WooGlobe.

The surprise gives way to a simple, unguarded welcome that speaks for itself.
