00:00Emergency response caravans are arriving across Colombia's Valle del Cauca department,
00:05following a powerful earthquake that destroyed homes and severely damaged several municipalities.
00:10In Sevilla, local victims who survived collapsed buildings report that official aid has yet to arrive,
00:17leaving affected families dependent on community support and neighbors for shelter.
00:21Our correspondent Milton Henao has the details.
00:29From very early in the morning, we've been checking this locality of the department Valle del Cauca
00:42that has suffered severe damages.
00:51Mrs. Teresa, her house is inhabitable, so please share with us your testimony.
01:01Good afternoon. I am Teresa Galindo.
01:05Fortunately, we are privileged because we are alive.
01:15I was out when it started shaking.
01:21I started praying to Jesus because he is the one with the power.
01:28When I reached the corner, my house had completely collapsed.
01:34My husband is alive.
01:39I asked to a person who volunteered to check up on my house.
01:44And he told me, this person told me, your husband is alive.
01:49Plenty of beautiful people went to my house and helped my husband.
01:54And they could rescue him from a little space.
02:00He got out harmless.
02:02He just got a cut on his arm.
02:05But he's alive.
02:07Mrs. Teresa, and regarding help to recover your house,
02:17what comments have you received from local authorities?
02:24Well, many people have come here
02:30to see what happened.
02:33But to the moment, we haven't received any specific comments
02:39regarding help.
02:40So we are still waiting to see what's going to happen.
02:46I'm lucky that my sister in religion
02:52is having us in her house.
02:55What words do you have to give to Telesur?
02:59Well, if it's God's will, the situation will get better.
03:04Mrs. Teresa, thank you very much for your testimony.
