Think back to the first Jurassic Park film. While it's a cinematic marvel to behold, don't all the dinosaurs look a little bit... drab? Most of the animals in the movie are coated in dull shades of brown or grey; with only occasional splashes of colour making it through in the final cut. In fact, until very recently, the Jurassic World films were guilty of this too, adding only the occasional splash of green or black into the mix - but dinosaurs don't have to be dull!
In reality, dinosaurs would have been adorned in all manner of vibrant hues - they are, after all, related to modern day birds, and look at the diversity amongst them. Scientists have actually been able to discern the colours of certain species of dinosaur by looking at tiny traces of pigment cells left behind in the fossils - and the results are often astounding.
