A fuel tanker carrying 32,000 litres of diesel and petrol crashed into a car at KM9 of Jalan Temerloh-Triang in Temerloh, Pahang, on Friday (Aug 14), causing both vehicles to burst into flames, with two occupants of the car feared to have been burned to death.

00:15car's occupants feared to have been burned to death.
00:18Temerlo OCPD Assistant Commissioner Mohamed Naseem Bahron said police received information
00:24about the incident from the public at around 4.30pm.
00:28He said preliminary investigations found that the tanker, which was travelling from Seremban,
00:34Nergri Sembilan to Temerlo, was believed to have lost control and veered into the opposite
00:39lane before crashing into the car.
00:42The collision caused both vehicles to catch fire, however, the 37-year-old tanker driver
00:48managed to escape and suffered only minor injuries.
00:52ACP Naseem said the identities and number of victims in the car had yet to be confirmed
00:58due to the condition of the wreckage.
01:00He said firefighting operations took some time as the tanker was carrying a large quantity
01:05of fuel.
01:06The tanker driver will be detained to assist investigations under Section 41, Subsection
01:121 of the Road Transport Act, 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
01:19The accident caused major traffic congestion, with both directions of the road closed following
01:24the crash.
