Shay Mitchell is celebrating a major milestone in her entrepreneurial journey as her travel and lifestyle brand, BÉIS, is set to be acquired by Samsonite in a deal valued at $210 million. The agreement marks a huge moment for the company Mitchell founded in 2018, transforming her vision for stylish, functional travel products into a multimillion-dollar business.
Under the deal, Samsonite will acquire 85% of BÉIS for $178.5 million, while Mitchell will retain a 15% stake. She is also staying closely involved as the brand’s Founder and Head of Creative and Design, continuing to guide its creative direction and product vision.
For Mitchell, the deal represents more than a financial success—it is the next chapter for a company she helped build from the ground up. BÉIS quickly became known for combining fashionable designs with practical travel features, with products such as its popular Weekender helping establish the brand among modern travelers.
Mitchell described the Samsonite partnership as a “dream come true,” expressing excitement about taking BÉIS to an even bigger global audience. The brand will continue operating as a standalone business, with CEO Adeela Hussain Johnson and the existing management team remaining in place.
The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approval. For Mitchell, Hollywood success has officially turned into a powerful business success story—and it looks like her BÉIS journey is only getting started.
