00:00Speaking with TV6 News by Telephone, Public Services Association President Felicia Thomas gave an update on Thursday evening regarding the
00:07union's round of negotiations with the Water and Sewage Authority.
00:11We didn't engage in protests today. What we had was negotiations as usual. We requested an update in relation to
00:19the course proposal submitted by the PSA in January of 2026.
00:24Ms. Thomas made it clear that the union was not satisfied with the update from WASA's management team.
00:30At this point WASA is the only organization that has not submitted anything to the Align Ministry for the proposals
00:41to the Advanced Human Resource Advisory Committee so that negotiations can be settled.
00:46So is the PSA concerned about this in the context of the government's overall 10% offer to public servants?
00:51Absolutely not. From the government's perspective, the government has not shifted from that 10% offer.
00:59As I said, every, every single organization represented by the PSA has already made their submissions to their various ministries
01:09for on-road transmission to the Human Resource Advisory Committee.
01:13The PSA's president said all except one.
01:16So at this point, what the management of WASA is saying to the workers is don't look forward for any
01:24salary increase or any back pay in the 2026 budget.
01:30That is what they are saying to us at this point in time.
01:33The PSA and its members are meeting with WASA at the authority's headquarters.
01:37We are still here at WASA St. Joseph with the management and we will not be leaving until, until they
01:45have done what they need to do and progress.
01:48And let me know that WASA is the only organization of all the organizations that the PSA represents, WASA is
01:55the only organization that has not even as much as advanced force proposals on behalf of the workers to their
02:03various ministries.
02:05The PSA's president had made reference to an announcement by the government in a media review of the 2026 budget
02:11regarding public sector negotiations that are settled.
