01:25So, how did watching Murder Mysteries... We were talking about this in the back.
01:29I did it, too, with my grandmother.
01:30Murder, She Wrote, Matlock, all of those things.

01:35How did that inspire kind of your thinking with this?
01:38Well, you know, I watched what my grandmother watched, and I was pressed up against her watching those shows.
01:43And so, I really wanted to make something that was Murder, She Wrote, for millennials.
01:47Yes.
01:47And a lot of people have talked about that. They're like, oh, this is Nancy Drew with more public school.
01:51Nancy Drew with a little Laurie's and hot sauce.
01:53No, no. Yes.
01:55And so, my character...
01:55The Laurie's.
01:57Yes.
01:57What would we do without Laurie's?
01:59Would we starve?
02:00Yeah, and so, my character, you know, discovered that she has a knack for private investigating after her Tinder date
02:05goes missing, and then she's just kind of off to the races.
02:09And I think what's also fun about the show is that the biggest case for her to solve is always
02:14going to be her.
02:15Yes.
02:15And her personal life.
02:16So, it's these two things. It's this case that she's always navigating, and then her very complicated and messy love
02:21life.
02:21You know, we introduced you as the creator, the writer, the executive producer, and the star of this series.
02:27And I know that for you, it must be incredibly fulfilling to be in this space and be the boss
02:33that you are.
02:34But can you talk to us about what it was like when you were coming up and you found yourself
02:38in spaces where you perhaps were the only one who looked like you?
02:42Ooh, I was in spaces where I was the only one who looked like me a lot.
02:46And what it did was it empowered that little girl that had these dreams.
02:51Like, you were asking me about the billboard earlier.
02:53Yes.
02:54You know, it was like, it just made me want to bring my little girl along for the ride.
02:58And so, when I have those moments in L.A., like, when I see that...
03:02You saw your billboard.
03:03When I see that billboard in L.A., it's like those moments where I have to say I am a
03:09very ambitious woman.
03:11There I am, shedding a little thug tear.

03:29I haven't always been in a room where my point of view is reflected or put at the forefront.
03:34And so, I just like to, like, stop and breathe and thank myself for always being obedient to my dreams
03:41in those moments.
