CTP (S4E165) Chronic Illness And Creative Grit
We talk with nurse practitioner Jessica “Nurse Jesse” about living with chronic illness while still building a creative life from home. We get practical about pacing, mental health, AI in healthcare, and how to ask for the help you actually need.
• living with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, IBS-D and unpredictable bad days
• pacing work around usable hours and protecting recovery time
• using simple tools like hot soaking to calm pain and stress
• building podcasts and books without overspending early
• outlining stories, saving drafts and promoting after publishing
• using AI for notes and ideas while avoiding self-diagnosis traps
• understanding OCD and ADHD as a spectrum, not a stereotype
• separating addiction from physical dependency and using meds carefully
• “mirror moment” self-reflection and dropping pride to seek help
• supporting loved ones by listening and embracing awkward conversations
• improving the patient-doctor relationship by writing questions down and speaking up

00:00:00Hello, welcome to another episode of Perstitutionalist Podcast.
00:00:06I am your host, Joseph M. Leonard.
00:00:09That's L-E-N-A-R-D.
00:00:12It looks French.
00:00:13It's not.
00:00:14It's Leonard without an O.
00:00:17Thank you for tuning in, as Graham Norton used to say, on his show.
00:00:23Let's get on with the show!
00:00:26Welcome to Season 4, Episode 165, August the 15th, 2026.
00:00:37I know you've heard me say this before, this is going to be an odd episode.
00:00:42Well, yes, this is not even actually going to be one of my episodes.
00:00:48I am now airing, with permission, the episode I was on with podcaster Nurse Jessie.
00:01:01So, we had a great discussion.
00:01:05Got permission?
00:01:07Going to air that discussion here.
00:01:10Here it is.
00:01:11Hello, everybody.
00:01:12My name is Jessica.
00:01:13I'm a nurse practitioner, and I run the podcast called the Frequently Asked Questions by Nurse
00:01:18Jessie.
00:01:19Otherwise, I go to nurse practitioner, Jessica.
00:01:23And I'm here today with Mr. Joseph M. Leonard.
00:01:27So, how are you today?
00:01:29Oh, like I always say, could be better, could be worse.
00:01:33And, hey, you started off well.
00:01:34You got the name right.
00:01:36It looks French.
00:01:37It's not Leonard.
00:01:39It's Leonard without an O.
00:01:42Joseph M. Leonard, because there is a Joseph Leonard out of South Carolina, who I'm here in Michigan,
00:01:50who is also a Christian author.
00:01:53So, I need to make that distinction.
00:01:57Yep.
00:01:58Yep.
00:01:58Yeah.
00:01:58How do you get my head out?
00:01:59Well, I get emails about his books, and I have, no, wrong, wrong Joseph.
00:02:06He's Leonard.
00:02:07I'm Leonard.
00:02:08That's why I use my middle initial in there.
00:02:11I have no idea what his middle initial is.
00:02:14I've tried reaching out to him through third parties and email and even phone calls.
00:02:23Doesn't ever get back to me.
00:02:26Oh, wow.
00:02:27I think it'd be interesting to have a discussion with him, see if he ever gets any questions about my
00:02:33books.
00:02:34Yes, exactly.
00:02:36Yeah, that'd be interesting.
00:02:40Yeah.
00:02:41So, you've been living with chronic illnesses, health issues in 2001.
00:02:46Can you tell me about that?
00:02:48Yeah.
00:02:48Well, it's a long list.
00:02:51Chronic fatigue, immune dysfunction is the main one, CFIDS.
00:02:57So, yeah, immune issues, IBSD, fibromyalgia.
00:03:02I've had Bell's palsy.
00:03:04I've had cancer in 2010.
00:03:07So, I mean, that's the short list.
00:03:12Yes, oh, wow.
00:03:15Yeah.
00:03:16Oh, but I guess, well, you're still here and you're still walking and rolling.
00:03:23I'm still kicking.
00:03:24I like to joke.
00:03:25I'll hold up my green screen here.
00:03:27See, I don't know if you could see the couch.
00:03:30I'm not a hoarder, but I am a slob.
00:03:34So, I use the green screen to hide stuff.
00:03:38I'm here in my living room, my couch underneath the green screen.
00:03:43And it's like, what can I do with my health issues from my home?
00:03:48Well, I can write books.
00:03:50I can do podcasts.
00:03:52So, I'm also now a songwriter again.
00:03:57I used to write and record music.
00:03:59My dad was Ted Leonard Jr., founder of Ted Leonard Jr. and the Polka Kings.
00:04:05They had a three-record deal.
00:04:08I never got a record.
00:04:09I didn't play polka music.
00:04:12And I never – I played, you know, a little bit of country, a little bit of folk,
00:04:16a little bit of rock and a variety of stuff.
00:04:19But I never got a record deal.
00:04:21So, my equipment's long gone now.
00:04:24But now with Suno AI.
00:04:28Yeah.
00:04:29So, tinyurl.com slash JLD on Suno.
00:04:35You can find my stuff.
00:04:37So, I can write again now.
00:04:39And, of course, having actually been a musician, a singer, a songwriter in the old days, the
00:04:46old way with, you know, a blank sheet of – a blank piece of sheet music and actually having
00:04:53to write it all up.
00:04:54Oh, excuse me.
00:04:56Write it all up.
00:04:58I just came from dinner and it's coming back to haunt me.
00:05:02Oh, no.
00:05:04That ham I had for dinner.
00:05:06My apologies.
00:05:08But, yeah.
00:05:09So, now, you know, I know all that structure.
00:05:11So, even one of the songs I did recently, a cappella.
00:05:16I mean, I'm probably the only person on Suno that has an a cappella song because I know my
00:05:23a cappella from my hole in the ground, so to speak.
00:05:28I know my cappella from my age, you know what, yeah.
00:05:33Yeah.
00:05:34Yeah.
00:05:35It's so awesome.
00:05:36And you do all of this at home?
00:05:38Yeah.
00:05:38Yep.
00:05:39I do it all from home.
00:05:40Yep.
00:05:41Yeah.
00:05:42Oh, that's so great.
00:05:44You just do everything.
00:05:45Like, you write your book.
00:05:47You do your podcast.
00:05:48You write a lot of the music.
00:05:49All that stuff that I can do on my time as my health allows.
00:05:56Right.
00:05:56Right.
00:05:57So, on good days, I'm able to do things.
00:06:00On my bad days, I just don't do anything.
00:06:03You just don't?
00:06:03Okay.
00:06:04Can you tell us more about those good days and bad days?
00:06:07Well, a good day is just one of those things will hit.
00:06:11You know, the fatigue or the fibro or, you know, stress or the IBSD.
00:06:18A bad day is when they all hit at once, right?
00:06:21Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam.
00:06:22Yeah.
00:06:23Like, Mike Tyson pounded on my face.
00:06:26Yeah.
00:06:28And what do you do with those bad days?
00:06:30Like, you just recover?
00:06:32Just lie around.
00:06:34A lot of lying around.
00:06:36I mean, not much else you can do.
00:06:39Yeah.
00:06:40That's, like, one of the things I keep hearing a lot with my patient when I see them.
00:06:43It's, you know, managing those bad days.
00:06:47And it gets hard.
00:06:47Like, how do you balance those bad days and good days?
00:06:50Yeah.
00:06:50And there's no, like, sometimes I'm at a loss, too.
00:06:54Like, I'm trying to be encouraging, but it's not.
00:06:56There's no right or wrong answer.
00:06:58It depends on the person.
00:07:00And I always say soak in a nice hot tub for a while.
00:07:04That, you know, it helps the body to calm and reset.
00:07:08It helps with aches and pains, even if you don't have fibro.
00:07:13You know, if you're having a bad day, soaking in a hot tub is good.
00:07:16It opens up the pores.
00:07:18And, you know, so that's always good.
00:07:21That's, I think that's always good advice, no matter what your ailment is.
00:07:26Yeah, exactly.
00:07:27Yeah.
00:07:27And then when you have those good days, you're trying to do as much as you can on those days.
00:07:31Exactly.
00:07:32I cram more in.
00:07:33But that's why I can't work.
00:07:35That's why I'm on disability.
00:07:36I don't know when a good day or a bad day will be.
00:07:40I can't, I can't schedule things.
00:07:43Like, I mean, this interview, I schedule things either in the afternoon or the early evening.
00:07:49And those are usually my usable, doable hours.
00:07:55Even if I'm having a not so good, but not entirely bad day, I can still either record my own
00:08:04podcast or appear as a guest on a podcast.
00:08:08Because I do Christitutionalist.
00:08:10I think I'm pronouncing it wrong.
00:08:13My own broadcast.
00:08:15Everybody wants to call it Christitutionalist.
00:08:20And, indeed, that's why Christ is in there.
00:08:23Christ, but I pronounce it Christitutionalist.
00:08:26Kind of like the old Greek Christos.
00:08:29Yes, yes.
00:08:31It was like the old saying, you know, X-mas.
00:08:35Don't say, oh, yeah, put Christ back in Christmas.
00:08:37Yeah.
00:08:38Sorry, people.
00:08:40Christ is in Christmas.
00:08:41X-mas.
00:08:44Christos.
00:08:44Mass of the Greek.
00:08:46That's keeping Christ in Christmas.
00:08:48Yeah, exactly.
00:08:50Can you tell me more about your podcast?
00:08:55Yeah, I've always, well, said my music, so I'd always written it.
00:08:59I also always wrote stories.
00:09:02So I published my first international book, though, in 2022.
00:09:07And it became an Amazon bestseller in three categories.
00:09:11Terror Strikes Coming Soon to a City Near You.
00:09:14So in 2023, I thought, well, I'm obviously going to keep writing books, but I do that whenever, you know,
00:09:23the influence.
00:09:24I like to say I transcribe the books.
00:09:27And apologies, there was another podcaster who gave me that idea to say that.
00:09:32I used to say they flow through me, right?
00:09:35I just put them onto the page, type them onto the page.
00:09:39But transcription, she said, she does, too.
00:09:43It's like from wherever they come, they flow through me.
00:09:47I type them on.
00:09:48But I do that whenever the influence or the, you know, the motivation, the inspiration is the word I'm looking
00:09:58for.
00:09:59Hits me.
00:10:00But a podcast.
00:10:01So I started one, Christitutionalist Politics Podcast.
00:10:06I'd shortened it to Christitutionalist Podcast now.
00:10:10Based on the full Bible in full context, real Christianity, not Matthew 23, where you're picking and choosing things.
00:10:19But the whole thing in context and our Judeo-Christian constitutional foundations.
00:10:26So Christitutionalist.
00:10:29Okay.
00:10:30So I started.
00:10:31Yeah, yeah.
00:10:32I trademarked the term.
00:10:34I invented it.
00:10:35So you don't have left, right, Democrat, Republican, liberal, conservative.
00:10:40You're either Christian or you're not.
00:10:42But that's not true entirely.
00:10:43There are a lot of Matthew 23, fakes, frauds, vipers, snakes, blind guides, as Christ foretold we would have.
00:10:53And, boy, there's a lot of them.
00:10:55But, yeah, are you a real Christian or aren't you?
00:10:59So I started that show.
00:11:00I do Saturday monologues.
00:11:03And then on Wednesday, normally, I do a guest.
00:11:07Okay.
00:11:07But every once in a while, I'll do a whole week of shows, though, and it's like I did health
00:11:13weeks in February of last year.
00:11:15I did music weeks.
00:11:17I've done book authors weeks like I did in October 2025, most recently.
00:11:26The week that we're recording is, for the record, since I don't know when this will air, May 28th, Thursday,
00:11:34is when we're recording.
00:11:36This week, I've got a whole week of shows that were previously video exclusives that I dropped on video.
00:11:43So I can put on my 40-ish audio shows that way to have them heard and get caught up
00:11:52on them.
00:11:53I don't have to record anything new.
00:11:56I've already got it.
00:11:57I just got to put an intro and an outro on it.
00:12:00And, bam, there it is.
00:12:01There you go.
00:12:02Yeah.
00:12:04Awesome.
00:12:06Shortcuts and cheats.
00:12:08I like that.
00:12:09I know.
00:12:09Yeah, and they help us.
00:12:11Yeah.
00:12:12In fact, one of my books is –
00:12:15Let me see.
00:12:16Oh, there it is.
00:12:17Podcast.
00:12:18Podcasting Quick Start Guide.
00:12:20So if you're thinking of doing a podcast, start off slow.
00:12:24Start off inexpensively.
00:12:25Don't spend tens of thousands of dollars to make a studio in your house until you know you're good at
00:12:32it and you're going to keep doing it.
00:12:34Yeah, you're right.
00:12:36Yeah.
00:12:36What kind of advice can you give to people that want to do it?
00:12:39Well, you do need a decent camera.
00:12:43Like, I do it from my couch, as we have established, from my ugly couch.
00:12:49I'll lift up the green screen again there.
00:12:51Yeah, the ugly couch.
00:12:52Yeah.
00:12:53But, yeah, and then project an image on it.
00:12:56Usually I project other things, but we're using Google Meet, so I'm a little limited what I can project on
00:13:03my background.
00:13:04Normally on my show, I've got things in motion going, so it's a little more – you know, I'm in
00:13:10my fourth season now, so I'll try to get a little more fancy.
00:13:14And that's – you know, I discussed that in the podcasting Quick Start Guide, which isn't showing up.
00:13:22There we go.
00:13:23Podcasting Quick Start Guide.
00:13:26Okay.
00:13:26You know, start off slow.
00:13:28Oh, I had a plain background, and I got a more fancy image, and now I'm on full video behind
00:13:35me on my show.
00:13:37So, you know, invest as you go.
00:13:41Don't spend it a lot.
00:13:42But I forgot the question.
00:13:44I forgot where we were going with this.
00:13:46Yeah, I know.
00:13:47We were talking about podcasting.
00:13:49I was just letting it go, but this is awesome.
00:13:52Where can I get this book?
00:13:55All my books are available on Amazon.
00:13:59TinyURL.com slash JLD, Joseph Leonard Detroit.
00:14:05I'm in the Detroit area, so JLD initials on Amazon.

00:14:18Audiobooks are available there also for many of my books.
00:14:22Or you could go to, if you're in the U.S., some of my books are available in print, autographed
00:14:31copies.

00:14:58it kind of thin

00:15:02I want to keep your cost down

00:16:58and you know
00:16:59you got to promote
00:17:00marketing and promotion
00:17:02and what to expect
00:17:04out of reviews
00:17:05I have a
00:17:06character development
00:17:08and a scene development
00:17:11oh that's amazing
00:17:12yeah
00:17:13chapter in there
00:17:14so you know
00:17:15a lot more than
00:17:16just the simple
00:17:17basic stuff
00:17:18you know
00:17:19you don't need to
00:17:20buy a book
00:17:20for that
00:17:21yeah
00:17:22and you're right
00:17:23yeah
00:17:23and I think
00:17:24a lot of people
00:17:25have that into
00:17:26they really want
00:17:26to do this
00:17:27but they're like
00:17:28lost
00:17:28and they don't
00:17:28really know
00:17:29how to do it
00:17:29yeah
00:17:30it's an amazing
00:17:31resource
00:17:32that's actually
00:17:33my second
00:17:34international book
00:17:35follow up
00:17:36to terror strikes
00:17:37coming soon

00:17:39because I'd go
00:17:40on a bunch of shows
00:17:42and they'd say
00:17:42we'll just talk
00:17:43about the writing
00:17:44and publishing
00:17:45part of it
00:17:46and I said
00:17:47okay I'll come back
00:17:48and do a show
00:17:49on that
00:17:49and after a dozen
00:17:50of those shows
00:17:51I thought to myself
00:17:52light bulb
00:17:53right
00:17:54write a book
00:17:55on it
00:17:56if people are
00:17:57interested
00:17:57so I'll give
00:17:59like a free advice
00:18:00again
00:18:00a freebie
00:18:02and you can also
00:18:03go to
00:18:04tinyurl.com
00:18:06slash
00:18:07write
00:18:08and publish
00:18:09supplement
00:18:10all run together
00:18:11right
00:18:12tinyurl.com
00:18:13slash
00:18:14write
00:18:14and publish
00:18:15supplement
00:18:15and
00:18:16write
00:18:17and publish
00:18:17supplement
00:18:18two
00:18:18three
00:18:19and four
00:18:20and I think
00:18:21there's even
00:18:22a five fifth
00:18:22out there
00:18:23all for free
00:18:24free advice
00:18:25before you even
00:18:26consider buying
00:18:28my book
00:18:28for the extra
00:18:29stuff
00:18:29like a story
00:18:31outline
00:18:32you need to
00:18:33outline your story
00:18:34before you start
00:18:35writing it
00:18:36if it's in the
00:18:37computer
00:18:38or on three
00:18:39by five cards
00:18:40so you can move
00:18:41things around
00:18:42when you need to
00:18:43yeah exactly
00:18:44that's right
00:18:44because that's where
00:18:45people get lost
00:18:46in the detail
00:18:46like how did you
00:18:47organize your story
00:18:49what do I need
00:18:49all this stuff
00:18:50and another
00:18:52another free tip
00:18:53never ever
00:18:54actually hit
00:18:56delete
00:18:56yes you're right
00:18:58use the
00:19:00strikethrough
00:19:01function
00:19:01right
00:19:02Microsoft Word
00:19:03Word Perfect
00:19:04whatever
00:19:04you should use
00:19:06Microsoft Word
00:19:07because that's
00:19:07pretty much
00:19:08the industry
00:19:09standard now
00:19:10but yeah
00:19:11if you're
00:19:12going to
00:19:12remove something
00:19:13highlight it
00:19:14hit the
00:19:15strikethrough
00:19:15so it stays
00:19:16because later
00:19:18you might want
00:19:19to put it back
00:19:20or you might
00:19:21want to move
00:19:22it somewhere else
00:19:23but if you've
00:19:24deleted it
00:19:25then you gotta
00:19:26oh
00:19:26what did I
00:19:27say
00:19:28well
00:19:29won't you
00:19:30hit delete
00:19:31and then when
00:19:32you're ready
00:19:32to publish
00:19:33and do each
00:19:35chapter in a
00:19:36different document
00:19:37and then you
00:19:39could cut and
00:19:40paste between
00:19:41them
00:19:41and then when
00:19:42you're done
00:19:43merge them all
00:19:44into one
00:19:45big document
00:19:46remove all
00:19:46your strikethroughs
00:19:48and whatever
00:19:49red notes
00:19:50you might have
00:19:51in there
00:19:52and damn
00:19:53there's your
00:19:53final book
00:19:54so that's
00:19:55all free
00:19:56advice
00:19:56but there's
00:19:57a lot more
00:19:57available
00:19:58and how to
00:19:59write a book
00:20:00and get it
00:20:00published
00:20:01because everybody's
00:20:03got a book
00:20:04in them
00:20:04yeah
00:20:05exactly
00:20:06and I'll
00:20:07include those
00:20:07links that you
00:20:08gave me
00:20:08they're all
00:20:09there in the
00:20:09description
00:20:10and YouTube
00:20:11as well
00:20:11as Apple
00:20:12Podcasts
00:20:13and Spotify
00:20:13so anyone
00:20:14can just go
00:20:14and click
00:20:15on it
00:20:15yeah
00:20:16please go look
00:20:17into it
00:20:17yeah
00:20:18the Gemini
00:20:19I saw
00:20:20Gemini
00:20:21Gemini AI
00:20:22is taking
00:20:23notes
00:20:23so it'll
00:20:25know
00:20:25to pull
00:20:26out
00:20:27hyperlinks
00:20:28and yeah
00:20:29yes
00:20:30we pull
00:20:31the hyperlink
00:20:31and make
00:20:31them available
00:20:32for everybody
00:20:33to see
00:20:33and that way
00:20:34you just go
00:20:34ahead and click
00:20:35on the link
00:20:35and
00:20:36that's the
00:20:37good part
00:20:38of AI
00:20:38because I'm
00:20:39a former
00:20:40IT guy
00:20:40before I
00:20:41went on
00:20:41disability
00:20:42so I'm
00:20:43on a lot
00:20:44of shows
00:20:44talking about
00:20:45AI
00:20:46right
00:20:46the good
00:20:46the bad
00:20:47the ugly
00:20:47that's one
00:20:48of the good
00:20:49things
00:20:49yes
00:20:50what do
00:20:51you think
00:20:51what about
00:20:52the other
00:20:52thing with
00:20:52AI
00:20:53what do
00:20:53you think
00:20:53well the
00:20:54ugly is
00:20:55hopefully
00:20:55Skynet
00:20:56doesn't become
00:20:57self-aware
00:20:58and kill us
00:20:59all right
00:20:59that's right
00:21:00I mean
00:21:00that is still
00:21:02a real
00:21:02possibility
00:21:03although
00:21:04we'd like to
00:21:04hope to
00:21:05downplay that
00:21:06oh and
00:21:07here's a
00:21:09interesting
00:21:10note
00:21:12Terminator
00:21:12Mike
00:21:13was it
00:21:14Michael Bay
00:21:15that did
00:21:15that movie
00:21:17whomever
00:21:18well it was
00:21:18James Cameron
00:21:19Cameron
00:21:20thank you
00:21:21Titanic
00:21:21guy
00:21:21yeah
00:21:22Michael Bay
00:21:23was the
00:21:26Transformers
00:21:27guy
00:21:27yeah
00:21:28so James
00:21:29Cameron
00:21:29the Terminator
00:21:30he actually
00:21:32got the idea
00:21:33from a movie
00:21:33in the 70s
00:21:35called
00:21:35Colossus
00:21:36the Forbin
00:21:38Project
00:21:38which is
00:21:39hard to
00:21:40find
00:21:40it's hard
00:21:41to find
00:21:42that movie
00:21:42now I
00:21:43got two
00:21:43copies of
00:21:44it thankfully
00:21:45on DVD
00:21:46because with
00:21:48AI becoming
00:21:49self-aware
00:21:50but that
00:21:50was the
00:21:51first movie
00:21:51where an
00:21:53American
00:21:53computer and
00:21:54a Russian
00:21:55computer linked
00:21:56up to
00:21:56conspire
00:21:57against the
00:21:58humans
00:21:58so that's
00:22:00where the
00:22:00idea of
00:22:01Skynet came
00:22:02from so
00:22:03as Paul
00:22:04Harvey would
00:22:04say now
00:22:05you know
00:22:06the rest
00:22:07of the
00:22:08story
00:22:08exactly
00:22:09you're right
00:22:10yeah
00:22:10and that's
00:22:11good we do
00:22:12need to keep
00:22:12that in mind
00:22:13with AI
00:22:13I'm actually
00:22:14using AI
00:22:15now at
00:22:16work
00:22:16it's more
00:22:17like it
00:22:17try to
00:22:18capture
00:22:18the
00:22:18when I'm
00:22:19doing it
00:22:20with my
00:22:20patient
00:22:20I always
00:22:21let my
00:22:21patient
00:22:21know I
00:22:22am recording
00:22:22but it
00:22:23does capture
00:22:23the visit
00:22:24and all
00:22:24that
00:22:24it's good
00:22:25for taking
00:22:26notes
00:22:26and yeah
00:22:27and summarizing
00:22:28a visit
00:22:29and if
00:22:30you mention
00:22:32you need
00:22:32to write
00:22:33a prescription
00:22:34it can
00:22:34remind you
00:22:35to do
00:22:35the prescription
00:22:36and yeah
00:22:37so again
00:22:39that's a
00:22:40good use
00:22:41a bad
00:22:42use would
00:22:42be patients
00:22:44skipping the
00:22:44doctor and
00:22:45going straight
00:22:46to AI
00:22:47like
00:22:47exactly
00:22:48like
00:22:49I'm sure
00:22:50you know
00:22:50when WebMD
00:22:51first started
00:22:52right
00:22:53you had
00:22:53no doubt
00:22:55people
00:22:55oh yeah
00:22:56I ran my
00:22:57symptoms
00:22:57through WebMD
00:22:58I think
00:22:59I'm dying
00:22:59of XYZ
00:23:01syndrome
00:23:01you know
00:23:03the symptoms
00:23:04are the same
00:23:04for a lot
00:23:05of things
00:23:06that's why
00:23:06you really
00:23:07need a human
00:23:07to interact
00:23:09with a human
00:23:10yeah
00:23:10you need
00:23:11a human
00:23:12touch
00:23:12when it
00:23:13comes to
00:23:13these
00:23:13things
00:23:13yeah
00:23:14and also
00:23:14not only
00:23:15that
00:23:15I'm a
00:23:16primary care
00:23:17provider
00:23:17I'm the
00:23:18one that
00:23:18knows you
00:23:19best
00:23:19so when
00:23:19you come
00:23:20in telling
00:23:20me
00:23:20these
00:23:21things
00:23:21let me
00:23:22look into
00:23:22your history
00:23:23and say
00:23:23well no
00:23:24it could
00:23:25be this
00:23:25so let's
00:23:26look into
00:23:26that more
00:23:28so yeah
00:23:28that's where
00:23:29it's like
00:23:29it gets
00:23:30important
00:23:30like you
00:23:30have to
00:23:30work together
00:23:31to do
00:23:31it
00:23:32yeah
00:23:33uh yeah
00:23:34there's a
00:23:35joke to be
00:23:35had there
00:23:36but like
00:23:36I always
00:23:37like to
00:23:37interject
00:23:38I used
00:23:39to co-host
00:23:40on savaged
00:23:41unfiltered
00:23:42podcast too
00:23:43and I was
00:23:44known as
00:23:44jokester
00:23:45joe and
00:23:46raging
00:23:46joe there
00:23:47so you
00:23:47know I get
00:23:48on my
00:23:48soapbox
00:23:49and rage
00:23:49sometimes
00:23:50other times
00:23:51I would
00:23:51joke but
00:23:52you said
00:23:52primary care
00:23:53there's a
00:23:54psych ward
00:23:55joke in there
00:23:56somewhere
00:23:56I just
00:23:57don't know
00:23:57what it is
00:24:07I primarily
00:24:08think you
00:24:09should be
00:24:09locked up
00:24:15why are you
00:24:17even allowed
00:24:17to be out
00:24:18on the
00:24:18loose
00:24:21that's the
00:24:22joke
00:24:22it just
00:24:23took a
00:24:23while to
00:24:24come to
00:24:24me
00:24:30one of the
00:24:32things I
00:24:32keep saying
00:24:32a lot
00:24:33like sometimes
00:24:33I see this
00:24:34in the media
00:24:34you have
00:24:35OCD
00:24:36sometimes
00:24:36people
00:24:37oh I'm
00:24:38glad you
00:24:38brought that
00:24:39up
00:24:39yeah
00:24:41you know
00:24:41people say
00:24:42things like
00:24:43oh it's my
00:24:44OCD
00:24:45you know
00:24:45that kind
00:24:45of thing
00:24:46like how
00:24:46did that
00:24:46make you
00:24:47feel
00:24:47and it
00:24:48does at
00:24:49times
00:24:49I mean
00:24:50it's a
00:24:51spectrum
00:24:51my latest
00:24:53book
00:24:53I have
00:24:54to hold
00:24:55up only
00:24:55a picture
00:24:56because it's
00:24:57not a
00:24:57physical book
00:24:58it's only
00:24:58available on
00:24:59Kindle
00:25:00and it just
00:25:01came out
00:25:01in May
00:25:02so I
00:25:03don't
00:25:03even if
00:25:04it were
00:25:04out on
00:25:05print
00:25:05I wouldn't
00:25:05have print
00:25:06copies of
00:25:07it yet
00:25:07but it's
00:25:08called
00:25:08roller coasters
00:25:09the life
00:25:10kind

00:25:12I have
00:25:13you know
00:25:13ups and
00:25:14downs
00:25:15and spins
00:25:16and twirls
00:25:17and so
00:25:18roller coasters
00:25:19has always
00:25:20been a great
00:25:21metaphor
00:25:22for life
00:25:22but I
00:25:23also go
00:25:24into

00:25:25and tilt
00:25:26the whirls

00:25:28so I
00:25:30think it's

00:25:31that's one
00:25:32of those
00:25:32that's a
00:25:32Kindle
00:25:33exclusive

00:25:36well I
00:25:36can't say
00:25:37that because
00:25:37it's available
00:25:38on audio
00:25:39but it's

00:26:02I think
00:26:02is her last
00:26:03name
00:26:03and we
00:26:04were talking
00:26:04about autism
00:26:05it's a

00:26:07well
00:26:07ADHD
00:26:08and OCD
00:26:10and yes
00:26:11you can be
00:26:12bipolar
00:26:13and be
00:26:13both
00:26:14and I'm
00:26:15I'm bipolar
00:26:16and ADHD
00:26:17at times
00:26:18and OCD
00:26:18at times
00:26:19and it's
00:26:20in part
00:26:20why I
00:26:21have the
00:26:21health
00:26:21problems
00:26:22I do
00:26:22my body
00:26:23you know
00:26:24my brain
00:26:24would just
00:26:25keep going
00:26:26keep going
00:26:26keep going
00:26:27and eventually
00:26:27my body
00:26:28said
00:26:29no
00:26:30if you're
00:26:31not going
00:26:31to slow
00:26:31down
00:26:32we're going
00:26:32to slow
00:26:33you down
00:26:33and it
00:26:33shut down
00:26:34so yeah
00:26:35some days
00:26:36my OCD
00:26:37may be
00:26:37mild
00:26:38some days

00:27:06because when
00:27:08people hear

00:27:09that's why
00:27:10I wanted
00:27:10to put it
00:27:11in the book
00:27:11it's not
00:27:12just Howie

00:27:15right
00:27:16people hear

00:27:17that's what
00:27:19they think
00:27:19when they

00:27:21though
00:27:21they think

00:27:29can be

00:27:30it can be
00:27:31in between
00:27:32so it's
00:27:34tough
00:27:34so I
00:27:35wanted

00:27:57without any
00:27:58of the others
00:27:59you know
00:28:00it's a series
00:28:01because they're
00:28:01all based
00:28:02on life
00:28:02and living
00:28:03yeah
00:28:04not like
00:28:05terror strikes
00:28:06is the first
00:28:06one but it's
00:28:07not about
00:28:08death and

00:28:09it's about
00:28:10life and

00:28:21want to
00:28:21write next
00:28:22and the
00:28:22light bulb
00:28:23goes on
00:28:23well I
00:28:24have four

00:28:37but why
00:28:39not do a
00:28:39life and
00:28:40living series
00:28:41exactly
00:28:41and the
00:28:43characters
00:28:44carry over
00:28:45slightly but
00:28:46you don't
00:28:46have to read
00:28:47the whole
00:28:48series to
00:28:49get the
00:28:50point and
00:28:50I write
00:28:51them differently
00:28:52like
00:28:52terror strikes
00:28:54is narrative
00:28:55with a
00:28:56little bit
00:28:56of dialogue
00:28:57and it's
00:28:59a traditional

00:29:00the one
00:29:01after that
00:29:02is if I

00:29:06oh
00:29:07the book
00:29:08of Kennedy
00:29:09project
00:29:10put it in
00:29:11front of me
00:29:12it'll show
00:29:12up the book
00:29:13of Kennedy

00:29:14carpe diem

00:29:17today a
00:29:18life and
00:29:19living book
00:29:20it's written
00:29:21narrative with
00:29:22zero not
00:29:24one stitch
00:29:25of dialogue
00:29:26there are
00:29:27some quotations
00:29:28and quote
00:29:29marks to
00:29:30highlight certain
00:29:31words or
00:29:32an exact quote
00:29:33but no actual
00:29:35dialogue and
00:29:36also a short
00:29:38story a
00:29:39lasting legacy
00:29:40it's actually
00:29:41a misnomer
00:29:42title it's not
00:29:43a short story
00:29:44it's a novelette
00:29:45but a short
00:29:47story refers
00:29:49to Ryan's
00:29:50life being
00:29:51cut short
00:29:52from our
00:29:53expected norms
00:29:54and it's
00:29:55written entire
00:29:56journal entry
00:29:57style
00:29:58you know as
00:29:59if you're reading
00:30:00somebody's diary
00:30:01except for the
00:30:02last chapter
00:30:03which is called
00:30:04eulogy
00:30:05and then
00:30:06there's
00:30:06so it's
00:30:08journal entries
00:30:08and then there's
00:30:10dialogue
00:30:10in the form
00:30:11of monologues
00:30:13of people
00:30:14eulogizing
00:30:15Ryan
00:30:16so I try
00:30:18to write
00:30:18things
00:30:19different styles
00:30:20because
00:30:21not everyone's
00:30:24choice
00:30:24it's in fact
00:30:26I've got a
00:30:27Suno song
00:30:27yeah
00:30:28eye of the
00:30:30beholder
00:30:30right beauty
00:30:31is in the eye
00:30:32of the holder
00:30:32right
00:30:33writing styles
00:30:35is too
00:30:36music genres
00:30:37is too
00:30:38you might
00:30:39prefer
00:30:39country
00:30:40you might
00:30:41prefer
00:30:41rap
00:30:42you might
00:30:42hate
00:30:42thrash metal
00:30:43like I
00:30:44mentioned
00:30:44the wire
00:30:45or thrash
00:30:47metal
00:30:47might be
00:30:47the only
00:30:48thing
00:30:48you look
00:30:49that's in
00:30:50the ear
00:30:50of the
00:30:50beholder
00:30:51so I've
00:30:52got a
00:30:52song called
00:30:53ear of the
00:30:53beholder
00:30:54that's
00:30:54right
00:30:55yeah
00:30:55yeah
00:30:56oh that's
00:30:56so awesome
00:30:57and I think
00:30:57those things
00:30:58they help
00:30:59like try to
00:31:00understand
00:31:00like what's
00:31:01going on
00:31:01because it's
00:31:01a different
00:31:02way
00:31:02it's different
00:31:03it's a
00:31:03spectrum
00:31:04it's a
00:31:05whole lot
00:31:05it is
00:31:06it is a
00:31:07spectrum
00:31:07yeah absolutely
00:31:08like my
00:31:10brain still
00:31:11almost never
00:31:12shuts off
00:31:13and that's
00:31:14one of the
00:31:15reasons I
00:31:15can't work
00:31:16anymore
00:31:16it's hard
00:31:17to sleep
00:31:18it's both
00:31:19a blessing
00:31:20and a curse
00:31:20though
00:31:21let me say
00:31:22that
00:31:22right like
00:31:23you think
00:31:23of Rain
00:31:24Man
00:31:24with Dustin
00:31:26Hoffman
00:31:27and Tom
00:31:27Cruise
00:31:27that movie
00:31:28Autism
00:31:29well he
00:31:30was high
00:31:30on the
00:31:31autism
00:31:32scale
00:31:32but he
00:31:34was also
00:31:35highly
00:31:36capable
00:31:37he was
00:31:38on
00:31:38motor
00:31:39skill
00:31:40high
00:31:41capability
00:31:41also
00:31:42so he
00:31:43could
00:31:43function
00:31:44but he
00:31:45was also
00:31:45a savant
00:31:46when it
00:31:47came to
00:31:48things like
00:31:48card counting
00:31:49and things
00:31:51like that
00:31:51OCD
00:31:52is a
00:31:53blessing
00:31:53in that
00:31:54your mind
00:31:55is always
00:31:56working on
00:31:56a problem
00:31:57that never
00:31:57shuts off
00:31:58a boss
00:31:59loves
00:32:00somebody
00:32:01with OCD
00:32:01because
00:32:02they're
00:32:03focused
00:32:03on the
00:32:04task
00:32:04and they
00:32:04stay on
00:32:05the task
00:32:06until the
00:32:06task
00:32:07gets done
00:32:07and never
00:32:09stop
00:32:09but it's
00:32:10also a
00:32:11curse
00:32:11because that
00:32:12person can't
00:32:13sleep at
00:32:14night
00:32:14if their
00:32:15brain won't
00:32:15shut off
00:32:16like me
00:32:17and then
00:32:18your body
00:32:19falls apart
00:32:20yeah and it
00:32:21gets very
00:32:22frustrating
00:32:22it can be
00:32:23frustrating for
00:32:23the patient
00:32:24and it's also
00:32:25very hard
00:32:25for the
00:32:26provider to
00:32:26do it
00:32:27especially if
00:32:27they don't
00:32:28understand
00:32:28like they
00:32:30think just
00:32:30throwing
00:32:30I'm not
00:32:32saying like
00:32:32you can't
00:32:33take medicine
00:32:34but sometimes
00:32:35meds don't
00:32:36always work
00:32:36sometimes
00:32:37it really
00:32:37depends on
00:32:38the person
00:32:38yeah
00:32:39yeah
00:32:40exactly
00:32:40like chronic
00:32:44fatigue
00:32:45immune
00:32:45dysfunction
00:32:46syndrome
00:32:47right
00:32:47well
00:32:48what do
00:32:49they often
00:32:50attribute
00:32:52fatigue
00:32:52always
00:32:53fatigue
00:32:54to
00:32:54depression
00:32:55so they
00:32:56try to
00:32:57treat that
00:32:57with depression
00:32:58drugs
00:32:59right
00:32:59and it
00:33:00doesn't
00:33:00it may
00:33:01I don't want
00:33:02to say it
00:33:03doesn't help
00:33:03your mileage
00:33:04may vary
00:33:05right
00:33:06yeah exactly
00:33:08everybody's
00:33:08different
00:33:09yeah something
00:33:10might work
00:33:11a Sarah
00:33:13Sarah
00:33:14Quill
00:33:14or
00:33:17there's so
00:33:18many
00:33:18whatever
00:33:19yeah
00:33:20depression
00:33:21drug
00:33:21could help
00:33:22none of them
00:33:23helped for me
00:33:24they just made
00:33:25things worse
00:33:26so
00:33:26yeah
00:33:28and that's
00:33:28why it's
00:33:29important to
00:33:29like collaborate
00:33:30well for the
00:33:31provider to
00:33:31collaborate with
00:33:32the patient
00:33:32because that's
00:33:33not always
00:33:33the case
00:33:34I always try
00:33:35to focus on
00:33:36the medical
00:33:36aspect before
00:33:37I move on
00:33:38the behavioral
00:33:38because what
00:33:40I've been
00:33:40finding a lot
00:33:41of patients
00:33:43they present
00:33:43with very real
00:33:44it's a very
00:33:45legitimate
00:33:46complaint
00:33:46and I'm like
00:33:47well let's just
00:33:48find out what
00:33:49it is
00:33:49I don't want
00:33:49to say it's
00:33:50depression
00:33:50it's something
00:33:51else
00:33:51and usually
00:33:52it is
00:33:55I'm one of
00:33:56those that
00:33:56would dig
00:33:57and find
00:33:57I research
00:33:59and then
00:33:59there were
00:34:01times where
00:34:02I've even
00:34:02reached out
00:34:03to specialists
00:34:03and say
00:34:03listen this
00:34:04is not
00:34:04what you're
00:34:05thinking
00:34:05it has
00:34:06to be
00:34:06something
00:34:07else
00:34:08I also
00:34:10deal with
00:34:10anxiety
00:34:11and stress
00:34:12at times
00:34:13IT
00:34:13I was always
00:34:14on call
00:34:15I was always
00:34:16dealing with
00:34:17anxiety
00:34:17and stress
00:34:18then
00:34:18so
00:34:19I still
00:34:21today
00:34:21have a
00:34:22prescription
00:34:23of Xanax
00:34:24over there
00:34:24of course
00:34:25now with
00:34:26the laws
00:34:26and the
00:34:27rules
00:34:27I hate
00:34:27to give
00:34:28out a
00:34:28prescription
00:34:29but I
00:34:30get a
00:34:31prescription
00:34:31free filled
00:34:32once a
00:34:33year
00:34:3330 pills
00:34:35will last
00:34:36me a
00:34:37year
00:34:37because I
00:34:38will only
00:34:39take it
00:34:39when I
00:34:40really
00:34:41if feeling
00:34:42jittery
00:34:43if you
00:34:43know
00:34:43the anxiety
00:34:45and stress
00:34:46is causing
00:34:46physical pain
00:34:48or jitteriness
00:34:49and I really
00:34:50need the
00:34:51Xanax
00:34:51like I
00:34:52last week
00:34:53I took
00:34:53it too
00:34:54but I'll
00:34:55never take
00:34:55it more
00:34:56than two
00:34:56days in a
00:34:57row
00:34:57because
00:34:57when I
00:34:59first
00:34:59went
00:35:01it was
00:35:02first
00:35:02going through
00:35:03all the
00:35:04diagnoses
00:35:05and whatnot
00:35:06not working
00:35:07anymore
00:35:07the stress
00:35:09was one
00:35:09thing
00:35:09I was
00:35:10put on
00:35:10Xanax
00:35:12the highest
00:35:13dose
00:35:13twice a
00:35:14day
00:35:14and I
00:35:15was that
00:35:16way for
00:35:16like a
00:35:17year and
00:35:17a half
00:35:18so yeah
00:35:19I don't
00:35:20have an
00:35:20addictive
00:35:21personality
00:35:22but I
00:35:23was able
00:35:24to come
00:35:24up but I
00:35:25still had
00:35:25to deal
00:35:26with the
00:35:26withdrawals
00:35:27the addiction
00:35:29and the
00:35:30physical
00:35:31dependency
00:35:31are two
00:35:33different
00:35:33things and
00:35:34a lot of
00:35:34people don't
00:35:35understand
00:35:35that
00:35:36so I
00:35:36went through
00:35:37the withdrawals
00:35:38and it
00:35:39took four
00:35:40times before
00:35:41I was able
00:35:42to quit
00:35:42and I
00:35:43still have
00:35:44the controlled
00:35:45substance
00:35:45because I
00:35:46can control
00:35:48myself
00:35:48I know
00:35:50to take it
00:35:51only if
00:35:53and when I
00:35:54really need
00:35:54it I
00:35:55use the
00:35:56drug
00:35:56the drug
00:35:57isn't
00:35:57ruling my
00:35:59life
00:36:01any more
00:36:02it was a
00:36:03little
00:36:03you know
00:36:03when I
00:36:04was on
00:36:04it for
00:36:04a year
00:36:05and a
00:36:05half
00:36:05and yeah
00:36:06all that
00:36:06that hyper
00:36:07sense of
00:36:08paranoia
00:36:09and all
00:36:09that stuff
00:36:11my wife
00:36:12landed up
00:36:13leaving
00:36:13during that
00:36:14time
00:36:15it was like
00:36:16yeah because
00:36:16I was a
00:36:17different person
00:36:18I was
00:36:19indeed
00:36:20paranoid
00:36:20all the
00:36:21time
00:36:22yeah
00:36:22yeah
00:36:23and that
00:36:24was the
00:36:25drug
00:36:26that was
00:36:26the side
00:36:27effect
00:36:28that was
00:36:28the side
00:36:29effect
00:36:29and it
00:36:30was because
00:36:30of what
00:36:30you were
00:36:31going through
00:36:31with everything
00:36:32in part
00:36:33two
00:36:33yeah it
00:36:34was part
00:36:34mental
00:36:35part
00:36:35drug
00:36:36right
00:36:36exactly
00:36:37you've
00:36:37got to
00:36:38examine
00:36:39the whole
00:36:39situation
00:36:40and everyone
00:36:41is different
00:36:42again
00:36:42your mileage
00:36:44may vary
00:36:44as the joke
00:36:45yeah exactly
00:36:46and everybody's
00:36:47different
00:36:47and I think
00:36:48that's like
00:36:49the big thing
00:36:49like
00:36:49we have
00:36:51to list
00:36:51I have to
00:36:52list as a
00:36:52provider
00:36:53and I try
00:36:54to do that
00:36:54with my
00:36:55patient
00:36:55because
00:36:56what they're
00:36:57telling
00:36:57they don't
00:36:57understand
00:36:58they're trying
00:36:58to communicate
00:36:59what their
00:36:59needs are
00:37:00and everybody's
00:37:01different
00:37:02so and
00:37:03if you don't
00:37:04find out
00:37:05it does
00:37:05have a
00:37:06triple down
00:37:07effect
00:37:07it affect
00:37:07everybody
00:37:08around you
00:37:09yes
00:37:09yeah
00:37:10and I've
00:37:11always had
00:37:11a good
00:37:11relationship
00:37:12with my
00:37:13doctors
00:37:13over the
00:37:14years
00:37:14so it's
00:37:15good
00:37:15you know
00:37:16I know
00:37:17WebMD
00:37:18can be a
00:37:19tool
00:37:19but you
00:37:19can't let
00:37:20it be
00:37:20your doctor
00:37:21yeah
00:37:22but yeah
00:37:23you know
00:37:23so I've
00:37:24used it
00:37:25as a
00:37:25resource
00:37:26and the
00:37:26same thing
00:37:26with AI
00:37:27you can
00:37:28use it
00:37:28as a
00:37:28resource
00:37:29well
00:37:30but
00:37:30symptoms
00:37:31A, B,
00:37:32and C
00:37:32could be
00:37:33X, Y,
00:37:34or Z
00:37:35you can't
00:37:36let it tell
00:37:37you well
00:37:38for sure
00:37:38it's X
00:37:39well
00:37:39again
00:37:40that's why
00:37:40you need
00:37:41a human
00:37:41doctor
00:37:42you've
00:37:42got to
00:37:42run
00:37:43the battery
00:37:43of tests
00:37:44yeah
00:37:45and you
00:37:45have to
00:37:46have the
00:37:46psych profile
00:37:47done
00:37:48and all
00:37:49that stuff
00:37:50so
00:37:51the AI
00:37:52you know
00:37:53yeah
00:37:53a robot
00:37:54could probably
00:37:55take your
00:37:55temperature
00:37:56and your
00:37:56blood pressure
00:37:57and all
00:37:57that
00:37:58in the near
00:37:59future
00:37:59but
00:38:00it's no
00:38:01substitute
00:38:02for a
00:38:03human
00:38:03doctor
00:38:03yeah
00:38:04the robot
00:38:05doesn't know
00:38:05subtlety
00:38:06in a human
00:38:08or sarcasm
00:38:09yeah
00:38:10exactly
00:38:11because I
00:38:12joke all
00:38:13the time
00:38:14it's like
00:38:14you better
00:38:16watch what
00:38:16you say
00:38:17to the AI
00:38:18because it
00:38:18almost takes
00:38:19everything
00:38:20literal
00:38:21or I
00:38:23found the
00:38:24other thing
00:38:25it conversely
00:38:26can get
00:38:27caught
00:38:27like I
00:38:28converse
00:38:28with
00:38:29grok
00:38:29I'm on
00:38:30X
00:38:31and I
00:38:31use
00:38:32grok
00:38:32again
00:38:33as a
00:38:34tool
00:38:34or you
00:38:35know
00:38:36to bounce
00:38:36ideas
00:38:37off
00:38:38as a
00:38:39research
00:38:40tool
00:38:41and a
00:38:42lot of
00:38:42times
00:38:42you find
00:38:44you say
00:38:45something
00:38:45and the
00:38:46first thing
00:38:46it says
00:38:47back
00:38:47is ha
00:38:48ha
00:38:48well
00:38:49this is not
00:38:50a laughing
00:38:51matter
00:38:51this isn't
00:38:52a joke
00:38:52we're having
00:38:53a serious
00:38:54conversation
00:38:54you cannot
00:38:56say ha
00:38:57ha
00:38:57because the
00:38:58last three
00:38:58things were
00:38:59jokes
00:39:00you gotta
00:39:00understand
00:39:01context
00:39:02yes
00:39:03exactly
00:39:04yeah
00:39:05I think
00:39:08I'm having
00:39:09a heart
00:39:09attack
00:39:10ha
00:39:10ha
00:39:11maybe
00:39:11you should
00:39:12go to
00:39:12the hospital
00:39:13that's not
00:39:14a valid
00:39:14response
00:39:15the go to
00:39:16the hospital
00:39:17part is
00:39:18but the
00:39:18ha
00:39:19part
00:39:19ain't
00:39:20yeah
00:39:20exactly
00:39:24so again
00:39:25that's the
00:39:26AI
00:39:26the good
00:39:27the bad
00:39:27and the
00:39:28ugly
00:39:28it's not
00:39:29quite there
00:39:29yet
00:39:30and the
00:39:31other thing
00:39:31is being
00:39:32an author
00:39:32ripping off
00:39:33authors
00:39:34it's ripping
00:39:34off you
00:39:35know
00:39:35movie
00:39:36producers
00:39:37it's ripping
00:39:38off
00:39:38podcast
00:39:40content
00:39:40makers
00:39:41because it's
00:39:42using that
00:39:42to study
00:39:44its model
00:39:44and it may
00:39:45say something
00:39:46oh
00:39:47like
00:39:47someone
00:39:48says
00:39:49write my
00:39:49paper on
00:39:50terrorism
00:39:51and if
00:39:53AI quotes
00:39:54my book
00:39:55without giving
00:39:55me attribution
00:39:57or accreditation
00:39:58and they put
00:40:00it in a
00:40:00thesis paper
00:40:01guess who's
00:40:02responsible for
00:40:03plagiarism
00:40:04not
00:40:05you
00:40:07exactly
00:40:09yeah
00:40:10and that's
00:40:10why
00:40:10and it's
00:40:11the thing
00:40:12a lot of
00:40:12people
00:40:12they're all
00:40:13cracking down
00:40:14on it
00:40:14like well
00:40:14you shouldn't
00:40:15use it
00:40:15yeah
00:40:16you can
00:40:18and I
00:40:20have no
00:40:20problem
00:40:21if you're
00:40:21writing
00:40:22something
00:40:22on terrorism
00:40:23quoting
00:40:24terror strikes
00:40:25coming soon
00:40:26to a city
00:40:27you
00:40:27because it's
00:40:28historical
00:40:28fiction
00:40:29it's part
00:40:30fact
00:40:31and part
00:40:31fiction
00:40:32and you
00:40:32the whole
00:40:33idea is to
00:40:34not necessarily
00:40:36know where
00:40:37the fact
00:40:38and the
00:40:38fiction
00:40:39end
00:40:40or begin
00:40:41but so
00:40:42you can use
00:40:43it to quote
00:40:44as long as
00:40:45you're giving
00:40:45me appropriate
00:40:46accreditation
00:40:48quoting
00:40:48this is from
00:40:49the book
00:40:50by joseph
00:40:51m leonard
00:40:52and again
00:40:52leonard
00:40:54without an o
00:40:54it's not
00:40:55leonard
00:40:55even though
00:40:56it looks
00:40:56french
00:40:57and i gotta
00:40:58use the
00:40:58middle initial
00:40:59because joseph

00:41:26locked out
00:41:26my quarter
00:41:27of a million
00:41:28follower
00:41:28account
00:41:29so
00:41:30i'm back
00:41:31to scratch
00:41:32again
00:41:33so
00:41:33oh my god
00:41:34oh wow
00:41:35across all
00:41:37my platforms
00:41:38i'm on more
00:41:39than a dozen
00:41:40different platforms
00:41:41so i've got a
00:41:42quarter of a
00:41:43million followers
00:41:44but it's just
00:41:45not on one
00:41:46platform
00:41:47yeah exactly
00:41:48yeah you're
00:41:49right yeah
00:41:49do you uh
00:41:50find when you
00:41:51of these followers
00:41:53do you have
00:41:53these people
00:41:54they share the
00:41:54same story
00:41:55same condition
00:41:56as you
00:41:56do you ever
00:41:57see that
00:41:57oh some
00:41:58do yeah
00:41:59of course
00:42:00some do
00:42:00and that's
00:42:02and i want
00:42:03to say this
00:42:04um before
00:42:05we go too
00:42:05far
00:42:06yeah
00:42:06i'm on
00:42:08disability
00:42:09right
00:42:09but i also
00:42:11recognize
00:42:11that there's
00:42:13a lot of
00:42:13people who
00:42:14want to
00:42:14game
00:42:15the system
00:42:16and scam
00:42:18the system
00:42:19because there's
00:42:20no real
00:42:20cure for
00:42:21chronic fatigue
00:42:22immune
00:42:23dysfunction
00:42:24you have
00:42:25to you
00:42:26know if
00:42:26you've got
00:42:26the immune
00:42:27dysfunction
00:42:28part it's
00:42:29easier to
00:42:29diagnose
00:42:30because your
00:42:31immune system
00:42:32is depressed
00:42:33and that's
00:42:34easier to
00:42:35tell
00:42:35but a lot
00:42:36of people
00:42:37will claim
00:42:38chronic fatigue
00:42:39syndrome
00:42:40well there's
00:42:41no real
00:42:42test for
00:42:43that
00:42:43and scammers
00:42:44indeed try
00:42:46to scam
00:42:47the system
00:42:47so you
00:42:49know when
00:42:50i first
00:42:50applied for
00:42:51the disability
00:42:52i was of
00:42:53course denied
00:42:54and i have
00:42:55no problem
00:42:56with that
00:42:57because indeed
00:42:57there's a lot
00:42:58of scammers
00:42:59out there
00:42:59who would
00:43:01get off
00:43:01their ass
00:43:02and do
00:43:03things but
00:43:04they don't
00:43:05want to
00:43:05they want
00:43:06the rest
00:43:07of us
00:43:07to pick
00:43:08up for
00:43:08them
00:43:09which you
00:43:09know the
00:43:09whole
00:43:10and ran
00:43:11atlas
00:43:11shrugged
00:43:12thing
00:43:17okay
00:43:18um
00:43:20and
00:43:22what do you
00:43:22think about
00:43:23like
00:43:24the health
00:43:25care system
00:43:26in general
00:43:26especially with
00:43:27people dealing
00:43:28with chronic
00:43:28health issues
00:43:29what do you
00:43:29think about
00:43:30that
00:43:30well i still
00:43:31think we
00:43:32have the
00:43:32best in
00:43:33the world
00:43:33uh could
00:43:34it be
00:43:35better
00:43:35yes
00:43:35could it
00:43:36be a lot
00:43:37worse
00:43:37heck yes
00:43:38uh you
00:43:39know i i get
00:43:40tired of this
00:43:41yeah you're
00:43:42against
00:43:43socialized
00:43:44medicine
00:43:45uh you're a
00:43:46nazi because
00:43:47you're against
00:43:48so excuse me
00:43:49do you know
00:43:50who invented
00:43:51that
00:43:53national
00:43:54socialist
00:43:55deutschland
00:43:56abeter party
00:43:57the national
00:43:58socialist
00:43:58the nazis
00:43:59invented
00:44:01socialized
00:44:02medicine
00:44:02because it
00:44:04was about
00:44:04power and
00:44:05control over
00:44:06people
00:44:07not health
00:44:08care
00:44:09oh wow
00:44:10oh that's
00:44:11interesting
00:44:11yeah
00:44:13i mean
00:44:14that's
00:44:15that's
00:44:16you might
00:44:18say you
00:44:18like
00:44:19socialized
00:44:20medicine but
00:44:21you can't
00:44:21argue with
00:44:22the fact
00:44:22where it
00:44:23comes from
00:44:23so my
00:44:24opposing it
00:44:25isn't me
00:44:26being a
00:44:26nazi
00:44:27that's me
00:44:28that's you
00:44:28actually being
00:44:29pro-nazi
00:44:31if it comes
00:44:32down to it
00:44:33i hate to
00:44:35be so blunt
00:44:36and frank but
00:44:37you know our
00:44:38education system
00:44:39is so poor
00:44:40in this country
00:44:40people don't
00:44:41know anything
00:44:42they just
00:44:43don't know
00:44:44and they
00:44:44don't want
00:44:45to know
00:44:46they prefer
00:44:46their delusional
00:44:47little bubble
00:44:49yeah and
00:44:50are there a
00:44:51way we can
00:44:52help reach
00:44:52to these
00:44:53people help
00:44:53educate these
00:44:54people
00:44:54well i
00:44:56you know i
00:44:56try through
00:44:57my podcast
00:44:58right i
00:44:59mean
00:45:01yeah you
00:45:02write your
00:45:03bull
00:45:03off
00:45:04and do
00:45:04everything
00:45:04yeah
00:45:05yeah
00:45:05yeah
00:45:06okay um
00:45:11i'm just
00:45:12looking
00:45:12yeah um
00:45:13is there
00:45:14anything like
00:45:15when you're
00:45:16on your
00:45:16podcast
00:45:16is there
00:45:17any like
00:45:17guests that
00:45:17you feel
00:45:18like that
00:45:18got mental
00:45:19health wrong
00:45:19or something
00:45:20about mental
00:45:21health wrong
00:45:22what do you
00:45:22think
00:45:23no i i've
00:45:24i've had
00:45:25some great
00:45:26guests uh
00:45:27for health
00:45:28weeks and
00:45:29even not
00:45:29during health
00:45:30weeks other
00:45:31weeks i've
00:45:32never had
00:45:32anyone that
00:45:33i've really
00:45:34you know i'm
00:45:35not a doctor
00:45:36nor do i
00:45:37play one on
00:45:38tv i'm not
00:45:39a lawyer nor
00:45:39do i play
00:45:40one although
00:45:41i do share
00:45:42a meme on
00:45:42social media a
00:45:44lot that i
00:45:44created i'm
00:45:45not a know
00:45:46it all i
00:45:47just play one
00:45:48on the
00:45:48internet
00:45:53so so
00:45:55you know
00:45:56everyone's
00:45:57entitled their
00:45:58opinion but
00:45:59it matters
00:46:00whether your
00:46:00opinions based
00:46:01in reality
00:46:02or unicorn
00:46:03fart fantasy
00:46:04delusion and
00:46:06i try to
00:46:06always make
00:46:07sure i stay
00:46:08rooted in
00:46:08reality but
00:46:09there are
00:46:10going to be
00:46:11differences of
00:46:12opinions as
00:46:13long as you're
00:46:14both trying to
00:46:15deal in reality
00:46:16that's fine
00:46:18let me say
00:46:20this i did
00:46:21have a guy
00:46:22on to talk
00:46:23about meditation
00:46:24yeah and
00:46:25he was just
00:46:27so monotone
00:46:29and dull and
00:46:32boring that i
00:46:33almost didn't
00:46:34air the show
00:46:35but i did air
00:46:37it because you
00:46:38know it's an
00:46:39important topic
00:46:40people who
00:46:41stress meditation
00:46:42can help so i
00:46:45wanted people to
00:46:46have that
00:46:46information
00:46:47yeah so i
00:46:49i've actually
00:46:50encouraged meditation
00:46:51with my
00:46:51patient but i
00:46:52also know it's
00:46:53one of the
00:46:54non-pharmacological
00:46:55method we do
00:46:56but i always
00:46:58say you know
00:46:58it goes well
00:46:59with therapy
00:47:00and sometimes
00:47:00medicine it
00:47:01depends on
00:47:02your needs
00:47:02again everyone's
00:47:04an individual
00:47:05and your
00:47:06mileage may
00:47:06vary
00:47:07exactly
00:47:08everybody's
00:47:09different but
00:47:09i try not to
00:47:10be like oh
00:47:11just go ahead
00:47:11meditate you
00:47:12know that
00:47:12yeah
00:47:13which is
00:47:14if you've got
00:47:15ocd imagine
00:47:17how hard it
00:47:17is to try to
00:47:18calm your mind
00:47:19and just relax
00:47:20and i've even
00:47:22got a playlist on
00:47:23suno called
00:47:24calming where i
00:47:25wrote a couple
00:47:26instrumentals or
00:47:28or you know
00:47:28slow songs about
00:47:31ocd or adhd to
00:47:33try to calm down
00:47:35and calm the mind
00:47:37and slow it's
00:47:39kind of a music
00:47:40form of meditation
00:47:42yeah oh that's
00:47:43really good yeah
00:47:44and i and i and
00:47:46that's really good
00:47:46for anyone that
00:47:47wants to go there
00:47:47check it out
00:47:48listen to these
00:47:49music again
00:47:51tinyurl.com
00:47:52slash jld on
00:47:54suno and
00:47:56exactly go
00:47:56there and check
00:47:57it out my
00:47:58playlist i've got
00:47:59america 250
00:48:00playlist i've got
00:48:02the adhd ocd
00:48:04playlist i've got
00:48:05parodies playlist i've
00:48:07got life and
00:48:08living for my
00:48:09book series a
00:48:11playlist i've got
00:48:12that calming uh
00:48:14i've got like 10
00:48:15playlists there of
00:48:17different stuff so
00:48:18uh bad breakup
00:48:19songs you know
00:48:20everybody likes
00:48:21weird i've got one
00:48:23called fireworks on
00:48:25the fourth or no
00:48:26more fireworks on
00:48:28the fourth of july
00:48:29you know the yeah
00:48:30the figurative and
00:48:32literal no fireworks
00:48:33today because our
00:48:35relationship lost the
00:48:36fireworks and we're
00:48:37no longer together
00:48:38kind of thing
00:48:39oh wow oh
00:48:41that's good i'd like
00:48:42to go listen to it
00:48:43yeah that's in my
00:48:44bad breakups uh
00:48:45playlist
00:48:48yeah oh is there
00:48:50any like advice or
00:48:51recommendation you can
00:48:52give somebody who's
00:48:53struggling with their
00:48:54mental health
00:48:55uh well before i do
00:48:57that i want to also
00:48:58mention i wrote april
00:48:59fools should be our
00:49:01anniversary
00:49:01yeah yeah as both a
00:49:04parody and a bad
00:49:06breakup song it's like
00:49:07yeah well you sure
00:49:09played me for a fool
00:49:10april fools should be
00:49:12our anniversary now
00:49:13yeah my advice for
00:49:15anyone with health
00:49:16issues mental or
00:49:18otherwise seek help
00:49:20don't try to self
00:49:22medicate especially
00:49:24with alcohol or
00:49:26illegal drugs seek
00:49:28help we all have to
00:49:30learn to not be
00:49:31like in my
00:49:34christianalist edu
00:49:35series my
00:49:37christianalist book
00:49:38three i talk about
00:49:41hubris right
00:49:42right the the sin
00:49:45isn't pride you
00:49:47should be proud of
00:49:48johnny hitting the
00:49:49home run at little
00:49:51league and walk off
00:49:52home run you should be
00:49:54proud of sally getting
00:49:55all a's or winning a
00:49:57ribbon at the pony
00:49:58shows or in
00:49:59gymnastics or her
00:50:01little league baseball
00:50:03if she plays right
00:50:04you should take pride
00:50:07in a job well done at
00:50:09work but it's hubris if
00:50:11you're then going into
00:50:12the boss and pounding
00:50:13on it says i demand
00:50:15triple my salary because
00:50:16all these other people
00:50:17are worthless that's
00:50:19hubris that's pride
00:50:21fullness that's
00:50:22different you've got
00:50:24to put your pride
00:50:25aside and realize
00:50:27we're all human
00:50:28we're all flawed
00:50:30we're all frail
00:50:31we're all imperfect
00:50:33you need to seek
00:50:35help you can't
00:50:36resist seeking
00:50:38help would you
00:50:39need it
00:50:40anyway and that
00:50:41can be very
00:50:42difficult especially
00:50:42in these times
00:50:43um i feel like a
00:50:45lot of time they
00:50:46have these like
00:50:46stigmas associated
00:50:47with it how would
00:50:49you overcome
00:50:49something like that
00:50:50yeah again you
00:50:52just yeah i i
00:50:54started this thing
00:50:55a couple months
00:50:56ago called the
00:50:57mirror moment
00:50:59okay you know
00:51:00michael i i've
00:51:01talked about music
00:51:02so let me michael
00:51:04jackson's man in
00:51:05the mirror yeah
00:51:06right uh man or
00:51:08woman in the mirror
00:51:09whatever i'm asking
00:51:11him or her to
00:51:12change his ways
00:51:13right it starts
00:51:14with you same
00:51:15thing rick
00:51:16springfield from
00:51:17his karma album
00:51:18has a song called
00:51:19prayer i
00:51:20send a prayer
00:51:21to heaven for
00:51:22the chance to
00:51:23be a better
00:51:24man or woman
00:51:25than the man
00:51:27or woman i
00:51:28see presumably
00:51:29looking back in
00:51:30my mirror so
00:51:31i created the
00:51:33mirror moment on
00:51:34my show not
00:51:36you know the
00:51:37old network
00:51:38movie where the
00:51:38guy says i
00:51:39want you to go
00:51:40to the window
00:51:41open up and
00:51:41scream i'm
00:51:42as hell and i'm
00:51:43not gonna take
00:51:44anything well
00:51:45that's just
00:51:45pissing in the
00:51:46wind that's
00:51:47i do want
00:51:50you to
00:51:51literally get
00:51:52up off your
00:51:53ugly couch
00:51:55go to your
00:51:56bathroom look
00:51:58yourself in the
00:51:59mirror point
00:52:00your finger
00:52:00remember what's
00:52:01the old thing
00:52:02three more of
00:52:03your own are
00:52:04pointing right
00:52:05back at you
00:52:05because a lot
00:52:06of people fool
00:52:08of their liars
00:52:09their hip
00:52:10hurts and they
00:52:11fool everybody
00:52:12but the person
00:52:13they fool the
00:52:14most themselves
00:52:16you gotta be
00:52:18able to look
00:52:18yourself in the
00:52:19mirror have an
00:52:20honest conversation
00:52:22with yourself a
00:52:24mirror moment and
00:52:25self-reflect and
00:52:27who am i really
00:52:28what are my
00:52:29strengths what are
00:52:30my weakness not
00:52:32like you're at an
00:52:32interview of course
00:52:33but you know what
00:52:35i mean right and
00:52:36you've got to at
00:52:37first come to
00:52:38to thine own
00:52:40self be true but
00:52:42also the saying
00:52:43know thyself
00:52:44yeah you're
00:52:45right know
00:52:46thyself and
00:52:48before you can
00:52:50make any change
00:52:51and indeed if
00:52:52you're suffering
00:52:53hubris that's the
00:52:55first thing that's
00:52:56got to go
00:52:56the first thing
00:52:59to go has got
00:52:59to be a
00:53:00recognition i
00:53:02man or woman
00:53:03or whatever you
00:53:04want to call
00:53:05yourself have
00:53:06room for
00:53:07improvement and
00:53:08need to want
00:53:09to improve
00:53:10right
00:53:11and that's
00:53:12what we all
00:53:13do we're all
00:53:14on this journey
00:53:15in life it's
00:53:16not so much a
00:53:16destination it's
00:53:17always a journey
00:53:18and we're always
00:53:18working on
00:53:19ourselves
00:53:19oh great
00:53:21you set off my
00:53:22ocd brain now
00:53:24now i'm gonna
00:53:24now i'm gonna have
00:53:26the journey song
00:53:27when the lights
00:53:28go down
00:53:34i can't sing
00:53:35anymore that's
00:53:36another reason why
00:53:37i used suno ai
00:53:38instead i used to
00:53:40have a reasonable
00:53:41voice but my
00:53:42vocal range is
00:53:43between screeching
00:53:44cat and laughing
00:53:45haina now
00:53:46so i could do
00:53:49man and
00:53:50there i'm
00:53:51starting with
00:53:52the man
00:53:53the man
00:53:55mj which is
00:53:56appropriate the
00:53:57michael movie is
00:53:58out and i
00:53:58highly recommend
00:53:59it you know
00:54:00because he
00:54:01tried you know
00:54:02ebony and ivory
00:54:04and and human
00:54:06nature is the
00:54:07most important
00:54:07song i believe
00:54:08he ever wrote
00:54:09so michael movie
00:54:11is out now i
00:54:12think it's an
00:54:12important movie to
00:54:13see no it
00:54:15doesn't cover
00:54:15everything but it's
00:54:17important to
00:54:19recognize we
00:54:20gotta be nicer
00:54:20to each other
00:54:21we gotta try to
00:54:22be and but
00:54:23again man in
00:54:25the mirror it's
00:54:26gotta start with
00:54:27you it's gotta
00:54:27start within
00:54:29exactly and how
00:54:31can like people
00:54:31around the
00:54:33patient like
00:54:33their family
00:54:34their friend help
00:54:35out in that
00:54:36situation oh
00:54:37that's a good
00:54:38question i i
00:54:39haven't told this
00:54:40in a while on a
00:54:42broadcast but i
00:54:43used to play
00:54:44hockey through
00:54:45high school i
00:54:46never got to
00:54:47play in
00:54:48college or you
00:54:49know go pro or
00:54:50anything like that
00:54:51but uh so i
00:54:53watch a lot of
00:54:54nhl over the
00:54:56last few years
00:54:57several teams
00:54:58had psa's
00:55:00right public
00:55:01service announcements
00:55:02they have a psa
00:55:04called embrace
00:55:05the awkward
00:55:06right and
00:55:08they're showing a
00:55:09bunch of people
00:55:09uh you know
00:55:13like i know
00:55:14something's not
00:55:15right with you
00:55:16something's
00:55:17different i may
00:55:18not be able to
00:55:19help you but
00:55:21no i will
00:55:22listen and i
00:55:24will try to
00:55:25help you find
00:55:26the help you
00:55:27need embrace
00:55:28the awkward
00:55:29yeah you're
00:55:30right that's a
00:55:31good idea and
00:55:32that's something
00:55:32that everybody
00:55:33needs to keep
00:55:34that in mind
00:55:34too late
00:55:36especially with
00:55:38veterans the
00:55:3922 project i
00:55:40talk about all
00:55:41the time in
00:55:42fact i do in
00:55:43my uh terror
00:55:44strikes coming
00:55:45soon to the
00:55:46city of you
00:55:47ptsd
00:55:48uh survivors
00:55:50guilt for
00:55:51terrorists or
00:55:53even crime
00:55:54survivors that's
00:55:55a form of
00:55:56ptsd yeah
00:55:5722 project on
00:55:59average 22
00:56:00veterans committing
00:56:02suicide a day
00:56:03that's almost one
00:56:05an hour oh
00:56:06yeah or is it
00:56:0822 every hour
00:56:10i i i forget
00:56:12now but 22
00:56:13a day is
00:56:15too many
00:56:15it's too many
00:56:18two a month
00:56:19would be too
00:56:20many all
00:56:20lives have
00:56:21value
00:56:23it's not like
00:56:24it's a wonderful
00:56:25life with
00:56:26jimmy stewart
00:56:27and donna reed
00:56:28you know clarence
00:56:29isn't going to
00:56:30come down and
00:56:31show hey you
00:56:32saved somebody
00:56:33who went on
00:56:33to be a war
00:56:34hero or hey
00:56:35you you stopped
00:56:36a pharmacist
00:56:37from poisoning
00:56:38a child which
00:56:39would have ruined
00:56:40a few families
00:56:41lives most
00:56:43people's lives
00:56:44are never going
00:56:45to be that
00:56:46traumatic
00:56:47right but
00:56:48like my
00:56:55i think
00:56:56something with
00:56:58the internet
00:56:59i'm grabbing
00:57:00grab
00:57:01oh
00:57:03yeah i think
00:57:04we kind of
00:57:04uh stop a little
00:57:05but you're back
00:57:06yeah in the book
00:57:08of kennedy project
00:57:09carpe diem
00:57:10kennedy shares a
00:57:12forced smile
00:57:13smile with sam
00:57:14at a ice cream
00:57:16place because
00:57:17sam is divorced
00:57:19and it's his day
00:57:20with the kids
00:57:20and you know
00:57:21they're giving
00:57:22them a hard time
00:57:23over what flavor
00:57:24they want and
00:57:25she shares a
00:57:26smile with sam
00:57:27and sam
00:57:28was contemplating
00:57:30not going on
00:57:31anymore
00:57:31but that
00:57:32little smile
00:57:34that little
00:57:35moment
00:57:36made a big
00:57:37difference in
00:57:38sam's life
00:57:39and while it's
00:57:40fictional
00:57:41this relates
00:57:42to the real
00:57:43world
00:57:44sam then goes
00:57:45on to remarry
00:57:46whose then
00:57:47child
00:57:48goes on to
00:57:49cure cancer
00:57:50it wouldn't
00:57:52have happened
00:57:52without that
00:57:53little smile
00:57:54that kennedy
00:57:56doesn't even
00:57:56remember
00:57:57but sam
00:57:58does
00:57:59yeah
00:57:59but you know
00:58:00if you're kennedy
00:58:01you may not
00:58:03remember the
00:58:04smiles
00:58:05of the lame
00:58:06jokes you tell
00:58:07or what
00:58:07but it matters
00:58:09it does
00:58:10it adds up
00:58:11to something
00:58:12greater in the
00:58:13book of life
00:58:14or in the
00:58:15egyptian
00:58:16osiris
00:58:17uh
00:58:18grand scheme
00:58:20of themes
00:58:20whether your
00:58:21heart and your
00:58:22soul is lighter
00:58:23than a feather
00:58:24the mass
00:58:25of life
00:58:26little things
00:58:27add up
00:58:28in the grand
00:58:28scheme of
00:58:29things
00:58:29greater than
00:58:31those things
00:58:32that you
00:58:32think are
00:58:33big negatives
00:58:34in your life
00:58:36exactly
00:58:37like embrace
00:58:37like the little
00:58:38things in life
00:58:39it's kind of
00:58:41like
00:58:41we overlook
00:58:42those
00:58:43and i'm
00:58:44telling you
00:58:44they matter
00:58:45they do
00:58:47they do
00:58:48and every day
00:58:49is a blessing
00:58:50when you wake
00:58:50up that kind
00:58:51of thing
00:58:52yeah
00:58:52so embrace
00:58:53the awkward
00:58:54and insist

00:58:55this show
00:58:57exactly
00:58:58so they hear
00:59:00all this
00:59:00you don't have
00:59:01to remember
00:59:01all this
00:59:02you can just
00:59:03tell them
00:59:04to listen
00:59:04to the
00:59:05nurse

00:59:12wonderful
00:59:13i want people
00:59:13to hear that
00:59:14because i'm
00:59:15trying to
00:59:15encourage these
00:59:16patients like
00:59:16just come in
00:59:17even utilize
00:59:18they have a
00:59:18family doctor

00:59:24how can
00:59:25patients get
00:59:25that kind
00:59:26of relationship
00:59:26with their
00:59:26doctor
00:59:27yeah well
00:59:27again it's
00:59:28it's
00:59:30there's other
00:59:31psas about

00:59:41you ask
00:59:41questions at
00:59:42the gas
00:59:43station
00:59:43but you go
00:59:44into the
00:59:45doctor and
00:59:45it's like
00:59:46you clam

01:01:04things on
01:01:05this sheet
01:01:05that i wanted

01:01:08to cover
01:01:09with the doctor
01:01:11when i was
01:01:11there because
01:01:12well that's
01:01:13an expense
01:01:13thing i don't
01:01:14want to have
01:01:14to go to
01:01:15the doctor
01:01:15three different
01:01:16times and pay
01:01:17a co-pay each

01:01:46yes get a
01:01:47referral
01:01:47exactly
01:01:48whether you
01:01:49have insurance

01:01:57i'm here for
01:01:58like i'm always
01:01:59there at the
01:02:00resource if i
01:02:00don't know the
01:02:01answer i will
01:02:02find the answer
01:02:02and again
01:02:04and again to
01:02:05sum things up i
01:02:07i am a doctor
01:02:08technically i i
01:02:10do have an
01:02:10honorary doctorate
01:02:12degree so i am
01:02:13dr joseph m
01:02:14leonard but i
01:02:15never put the dr
01:02:16or the phd at
01:02:18the end so i
01:02:20am a doctor but
01:02:21not really you
01:02:22know what i mean
01:02:23yeah i'm not
01:02:24a medical doctor
01:02:25nor am i trying
01:02:26to play one
01:02:27here jesse is
01:02:28a professional
01:02:29here yeah
01:02:30yeah that's
01:02:31right yeah
01:02:34and let's
01:02:35see i have
01:02:36like one last
01:02:36question
01:02:38um
01:02:42i guess
01:02:43uh-oh you
01:02:44lose it
01:02:45oh no
01:02:46i'm sorry
01:02:46yeah
01:02:47um
01:02:50did you
01:02:50have you ever
01:02:51felt like
01:02:52dismissed by
01:02:52your health
01:02:53care professional
01:02:53with your
01:02:55issues and
01:02:55all that
01:02:56again i i
01:02:57have a good
01:02:58relationship with
01:03:00the doctor now
01:03:01it was hard at
01:03:03first in 2001
01:03:04when i was going
01:03:05through my issues
01:03:07and before i got
01:03:08put on the
01:03:09disability and
01:03:10was no longer
01:03:11working
01:03:12yeah
01:03:12till 2004
01:03:14those three years
01:03:15were really rough
01:03:16going through
01:03:17things
01:03:17indeed trying to
01:03:19find out the
01:03:20diagnosis i felt
01:03:21rejected by
01:03:23the legal
01:03:24system not
01:03:26wanting to
01:03:26you know confirm
01:03:27i was disabled
01:03:29because hey i've
01:03:30got both arms
01:03:31working i got both
01:03:33legs that work
01:03:34you know disability
01:03:36can be internal
01:03:37too so i felt
01:03:39dismissed in that
01:03:40way but never by my
01:03:41doctors but we were
01:03:43confused together
01:03:45yeah i never felt
01:03:48dismissed
01:03:49yeah and then you
01:03:50guys were working
01:03:51together like what
01:03:52what's going on like
01:03:53how to figure this
01:03:53out what we do
01:03:55you can't read minds
01:03:57and narc is there a
01:03:59it's not like star
01:04:00track where you got
01:04:01the little thing
01:04:03oh yeah i could tell
01:04:05by the tricorder
01:04:06reading you've got a
01:04:08bum knee or you
01:04:09you you've got a
01:04:11heart valve problem
01:04:13or because that's
01:04:14been another one i
01:04:15had taver surgery
01:04:16last year
01:04:17yeah oh wow
01:04:18my main or the
01:04:21artery uh had to
01:04:22be replaced with a
01:04:24uh i think it was a
01:04:25cow cow part
01:04:27there's cow part or
01:04:28pig part but yeah
01:04:30and that's the other
01:04:31thing why i have a
01:04:33good relationship with
01:04:34my doctor is i do
01:04:35research things before
01:04:37i go in to talk to
01:04:39them yeah but i
01:04:40don't go on and
01:04:41say well web md
01:04:42says no no no no
01:04:44no you talk to
01:04:45them like a human
01:04:46and say yes i did
01:04:48go on web md or i
01:04:50did consult grok or
01:04:53i did and that was
01:04:55their thoughts and
01:04:57influence my thoughts
01:04:58but you're the
01:05:00professional yes we
01:05:01need to work through
01:05:02this together we
01:05:04need to yeah work
01:05:05together like work
01:05:06together review with
01:05:07see what's going on
01:05:08and how can we move
01:05:09forward what is the
01:05:10next step what do we
01:05:11need to do with this
01:05:12point right because
01:05:14things will only get
01:05:15worse yeah exactly
01:05:17yeah you're not gonna
01:05:18make there's no magic
01:05:20wand it's not gonna go
01:05:21away yeah right you're
01:05:24right unless you do
01:05:25something to change your
01:05:26situation yeah exactly
01:05:30all right uh we're coming
01:05:32up to the end oh wow
01:05:33we're coming up to the
01:05:34end of the power already
01:05:36yeah yeah wow this is
01:05:38amazing and is there any

01:09:09It's in those heart-pounding moments, the climbs and the falls, that we discover who we truly are.
01:09:18Roller Coasters. The Life Kind. A book by Joseph M. Leonard. Available now on Amazon.
01:09:27The Life Kind. A book by CastingWords
01:09:57Empty glass on the table, your side of the bed so cold, I yelled, I screamed, I was able to
01:10:06promise our hearts together would grow old now.
01:10:10Silence screams in my head, every word I wish unsaid. I professed how my heart swelled at your touch, but
01:10:22still put you through hell.
01:10:24Roller Coaster tears. Falling down my face. Fighting all my fears. Lost in this lonely space. Roller Coaster tears. Never
01:10:43again to embrace.
01:10:46Roller Coaster tears. A love I can't replace.
01:10:58The doorbell rang late that night. A siren's wail, a flashing light. My world went dark, no sun, no bright.
01:11:08Just endless wrong, no end in sight.
01:11:11My anger burned my foolish pride. Nowhere left for me to hide. I long to kiss your sweet lips. Lost.
01:11:23Gone through my fingers. Slip.
01:11:26Roller Coaster tears. Roller Coaster tears. Falling down my face. Fighting all my fears. Lost in this lonely space. Roller
01:11:42Coaster tears. You're gone. No trace.
01:11:47Roller Coaster tears. A love I can't replace.
01:12:13I pledged undying love till dust
01:12:17But alas, I was never worthy of your trust
01:12:20Now these nightmares won't let me be
01:12:23I was blind, I could not see
01:12:32Rollercoaster tears, falling down my face
01:12:38Fighting all my fears, lost in this lonely space
01:12:44Rollercoaster tears, you're gone, no trace
01:12:52Rollercoaster tears, a love I can replace
01:13:10The story is over, but yet again
01:13:17I have to live on, keep your legacy alive
01:13:22My love, my friend
01:13:24Rollercoaster tears, falling down my face
01:13:31Fighting all my fears, lost in this lonely space
01:13:39Rollercoaster tears, you're gone, no trace
01:13:44Rollercoaster tears, a love I can't replace
01:13:54If only one last time
01:14:01I could see your face
01:14:28I'm glad you're alive
01:14:31I'm glad you're alive
01:15:06Oh, Kennedy stared at the ceiling, coffee gone cold in her hand. All these Tuesdays bleeding together, like cheap ink
01:15:18on the back of her plans.
01:15:49She said,
01:15:50The love is meant to be more than a box to tick, a line to sign.
01:15:57Teach me how to see the sacred in the middle of an ordinary life.
01:16:10She watched a kid chase a pigeon trip, then burst into grins. Mother's hands trembling slightly, like she'd almost lost
01:16:22the whole world again.
01:16:23She thought, maybe this is the movie, not the part where the credits roll by.
01:16:31Just two plastic bags in a grocery cart and a quiet thank you at the end of the line.
01:16:38Are we just mediocre days with a few bright minutes stitched inside?
01:16:45Burned toast bills and broken plates, then one small hand reaching for mine.
01:16:52If every breath is meant to me, more than a box to tick, a line to sign.
01:17:00Teach me how to see the sacred in the middle of an ordinary life.
01:17:23Maybe the point was the waiting, the slow burn, the stop and go right.
01:17:30The jokes that fall flat, the nights coming back, just to sit on the edge of the sky.
01:17:39Are we just mediocre days with a few bright minutes stitched inside?
01:17:46Or are there cracks in everything where that quiet holy light arrives?
01:17:53If every breath is meant to me, more than a box to tick, a line to sign.
01:18:00Then every small forgettable moment was the story the whole time.
01:18:20So do you explore?
01:18:21Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
01:18:25Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
01:18:29Oh, oh, oh, oh.
01:18:32Oh, oh, oh, oh.火花花ì
