04:32along with his shooting but that's not a little too strong
04:37initiating offense
04:38of course for LA
04:39defensive rebounding a must
04:41the Rockets have dominated the offensive glass
04:44in this series
04:45couldn't fly in for the Dukes
04:47nice defense by eight numbers
04:49the other way for LA
04:50it's James
04:52and he's just fouled in the open court
04:54that could easily be a take foul
04:55that's what JJ Redick is hoping for
04:57see the arms were extended out
04:59and the officials are going to come together
05:01and see whether or not that should be a take foul
05:04certainly felt like it met the criteria
05:07Kevin Durant is on the bench today
05:09he was not on the bench game three
05:11getting treatment and it is a transition take foul
05:13James Williams eventually makes the call
05:15so it'll be free throw and ball for LA
05:18and how many times have we seen this
05:20LeBron James in the open court
05:22where he is one of the best ever
05:24just 260 coming at you
05:27full steam ahead
05:28all he can do is foul
05:30he basically the entire season led the NBA
05:33while he played in fast break points
05:35the Rockets hit their first from the floor
05:38they've missed their last four
05:39Lakers defensively have been impressive this series
05:42and what you just said there
05:43to lead the entire NBA at 41 in fast break points
05:47I mean just the fitness
05:49the conditioning
05:49the longevity
05:51it's incredible
05:52that's exactly what JJ Redick talks about
05:54he said as he's gotten older
05:55he's actually ramped it up all even more
05:57his sleep his diet
06:00fitness
06:01seven to shoot now for Hachimura
06:03another pull up pop this time short
06:07for Houston it felt
06:08it was going to be a big deal
06:10if they could deliver that first punch
06:12can they find something offensively with Shen Goom
06:15now it's Easton who checks the feet
06:17can't hit
06:18James taps it over to Hachimura
06:20right now Lakers doing a good job
06:21limiting to one shot
06:23at the rim on the East possession
06:25good force there on the turnover
06:26Thompson, Easton, Bucket
06:29and that's the one of the challenges
06:31in this series
06:32LA turning the ball over a lot
06:34Houston has to force these turnovers
06:36and get out and score and transition
06:38like on that last play
06:39Rockets hadn't missed their last five
06:41from the floor before that transition opportunity
06:44now it's out to Moorman
06:46smart playing catch
06:47four minutes gone in this opening quarter
06:49smart looking to drive
06:50loaded up
06:51knocked away by Shen Goom
06:54Smith
06:55in the open court
06:56finds the trailer Thompson
06:58extra for Shen Goom
06:59hook it inside
07:00Thompson couldn't guide it
07:01and it's knocked out of bounds
07:03but a loose ball foul
07:04going the other way
07:05Shen Goom can't believe it
07:07right here
07:08active hands
07:09trying to get smart
07:10open down the court
07:11Thompson in transition
07:13one of the best in the NBA
07:15and that's the kind of game there
07:17that the Rockets have to play
07:18and a little miscommunication on that pass
07:21and Shen Goom pushing Aiden in the back
07:23just a missed opportunity there for the Rockets
07:27so it'll be the first on Shen Goom
07:29and the bench shot goes for LeBron James
07:31let's take it with Ashley
07:33I know you just mentioned about
07:35how much LeBron really focuses on his body
07:37his diet
07:38his sleep
07:38talking to JJ Reddick before the game
07:40he said
07:40the whole team did a DEXA scan
07:42a full body scan
07:43at the beginning of the season
07:44and LeBron James had the lowest body fat percentage
07:46of anybody on the team
07:48he said it's actually insane
07:49as he's gotten all that he has ramped it up
07:51even more like he talked about
07:52he just loves to play the game
07:53he has become obsessed
07:55with being able to perform
07:56at this level
07:57at the same
07:57JJ actually said
07:59that's basically impossible
08:00for a 41 year old
08:02as Thompson just has to
08:04swipe down there
08:05to get Shepard on the foul
08:07it's kind of embarrassing
08:09as a teammate
08:10to have a 41 year old
08:11with lower body fat
08:13than
08:14yeah
08:14than everybody
08:15than everybody on the team
08:16it's one thing for saying
08:17hey this guy's got an incredible body fat percentage
08:19at 41
08:20versus other NBA players
08:22is where it's like
08:23whoa
08:23wait a second
08:24you're telling me that Marcus Smart
08:26you're telling me DeAndre Ayton
08:27who is in incredible shape himself
08:29as Okoge checks back in
08:31checks in for the first time
08:32I should say
08:32and Thompson will sit
08:34this is going to be interesting to see
08:35with
08:35Amen Thompson now
08:37on the bench
08:37they have been pummeled
08:39the Houston Rockets
08:40in his bench minutes
08:41in this series
08:42his plus minus
08:43has been evident
08:44when he's played
08:45which has been
08:46134 minutes
08:47through three games
08:48they are plus 7
08:49minus 27
08:50in the 15 minutes
08:52that he's missed
08:53they force a turnover
08:54Okoge on the run
08:55try to beat Smart
08:56Trill
08:57Smith will slam
08:59once again
09:00forcing
09:01turnovers
09:02getting out in transition
09:03before that Lakers defense
09:05can get set
09:06is the best offense
09:07from Houston
09:08Emeo Doka
09:09certainly felt
09:10that this series
09:11is far from over
09:11he believes his team
09:13can be the first
09:14to come back
09:14from 3-0 down
09:16LeBron James
09:17too strong
09:17and he draws
09:18the foul on Easton
09:20it'll be two free throws
09:22from James
09:22and we come back
09:23as Houston's
09:24getting out and running
09:24out and running
09:26Rockets basketball
09:27at its best
09:29forcing turnovers
09:30flying down the court
09:34this on Friday game three
09:36team with about 25 seconds
09:38remaining in a six point game
09:40turnover
09:41foul on a three point attempt
09:43Marcus Smart got fouled
09:44by Jayshon Tate
09:45then
09:46Reed Shepard
09:47trying to split the double
09:48as opposed to advancing
09:49with a pass
09:49LeBron with a poke
09:50LeBron gets it back
09:52LeBron hits the three
09:53with 13.1 seconds remaining
09:55to tie the game
09:56and eventually send it
09:57to overtime
09:58but Eme Odoka
09:59decided hey
10:00we're going to watch
10:01after the game
10:02as opposed to
10:03waiting a day
10:03but more than anything
10:05how does this team respond
10:06and he said
10:07focus on the positives
10:08we had so many positives
10:09over the course
10:10of the three quarters
10:11that got us
10:11that six point lead
10:12focus on those things
10:14try to replicate
10:14those things here
10:15in game four
10:16yeah and I like
10:17when we met with him
10:17we talked about that
10:18right after the game
10:19let's address it
10:20let's learn from it
10:21let's move past it
10:22and now come back
10:23and put a light
10:25on the confidence
10:25and build up these guys
10:27getting ready for
10:27this game four
10:28but I'll tell you what
10:30Noah
10:30the poor play
10:31in clutch situations
10:33this season
10:33has really defined
10:35this Rockets team
10:36giving up big time
10:38leads in four quarters
10:39they went 22 and 23
10:41in clutch games
10:42this year
10:42which was tied
10:43for the most games
10:44played with Dallas
10:45but 16th in the NBA
10:47and win percentage
10:48and a lot of it
10:49could be pointed
10:49to the lack of
10:50Fred VanVleet
10:51as their true point guard
10:52as Shepard
10:54continues to find the range
10:56if giving his rhythm
10:58offensively is a must
10:59but you said it best
11:00really haven't had a seasoned
11:02veteran point guard
11:03who can just take charge
11:04of things
11:04particularly in clutch time
11:07good ball moving on the outside
11:09here's Kennard
11:10who had a massive game
11:11one five
11:12they have a five from three
11:13this time another two
11:13and he nails it
11:14but he comes up
11:15a little bit hobbly
11:18confidence that he is playing with
11:20you think of him
11:20as a catch and shoot guy
11:22but he's got
11:22more to his game
11:24off the bounce
11:25coming off screens
11:26making plays
11:27for the Lakers
11:29Shepard
11:29with Lorayview
11:31just checked in on him
11:32now it's Shengun
11:32going right at James
11:33back him down
11:35Shengun
11:35couple of spins
11:36James stays in front
11:37and corks the miss
11:39James swipes down
11:40the rebound
11:41his second
11:42four points
11:42two boards
11:43two assists
11:43in the first six minutes
11:45of this game
11:48Lorayview comes
11:49nearly travels
11:50and then he's fouled
11:51by Shepard
11:53that'll be his second
11:57we talked about
11:58Reed Shepard
11:59I like this
11:59this confident
12:00and decisive there
12:01the Lakers
12:02a late switch
12:03there on that
12:04pick and roll action
12:07Shepard making him pay
12:08and then nobody guarding
12:09Luke Kennard
12:10and remising
12:12a little bit
12:13coming up
12:13after making that
12:14shot there
12:15but Kennard just
12:17you know
12:17first two games
12:1850 points combined
12:20in LA
12:21struggled a little bit
12:22game three
12:22but he has been
12:24effective and efficient
12:25here early
12:26two of three
12:27from the field
12:27with seven points
12:28excuse me
12:29five points
12:31but still effective
12:32is that just
12:33you wanted to make sure
12:34you talked about him
12:35because of where he went
12:36to school
12:36well speaking of school
12:37I opted out of
12:38quantitative reasoning
12:39so my math
12:40is sometimes a little off
12:41you're not a numbers guy
12:42this is why you do words
12:43for a living
12:43I feel you
12:45I do the same
12:46the Lakers go up
12:47by four
12:48in the early going here
12:50only one three point
12:51attempt so far
12:52was from Rui Hachimura
12:53meanwhile Houston
12:54one for four
12:55that's been somewhat
12:55of a role reversal
12:56Akogi
12:57kick it out
12:58Aaron Holiday
12:59in the game
12:59but he comes up short
13:00a lot of contact
13:02and a loose ball foul
13:03going against LA
13:04good to see
13:05Aaron Holiday
13:06out there
13:06who is dealing
13:07with an adductor issue
13:08according to Ima Odoka
13:09Josh Akogi
13:10also was dealing
13:11with back tightness
13:11said that was a big reason
13:12they didn't play
13:13major minutes
13:14it was short spurts
13:16in game three
13:16when they felt
13:17they really could have
13:18used both of their presence
13:19and spint off your bench
13:20particularly at home
13:21helps you so much
13:23and injuries adding up
13:25this time a shooting foul
13:26just a second team foul
13:28against the Lakers
13:28but it'll be Smith
13:29going to the line for two
13:33as you see right here
13:34Jabari Smith Jr.
13:36has that high release point
13:37and LeBron tried that
13:39old Shane Battier
13:42contested in the face
13:43they made a little contact
13:44low on that jump shot attempt
13:46this is where Houston
13:48has struggled
13:48in the half court
13:49their efficiency
13:50down in this series
13:52well it's the premiere
13:53weekend in thoroughbred
13:54racing where high fashion
13:56meets high stakes
13:57and it begins next weekend
13:58with the Kentucky Oaks
13:59leading right up
14:00to the Kentucky Derby
14:01on NBC and Peacock
14:04you got your derby
14:06fit ready
14:06I do yes
14:07I won't be at the derby
14:09but I'm wearing my fit
14:10yeah I didn't ask
14:11if you were going to be there
14:12I just asked if your
14:12fit was there
14:13my fit would be right
14:15okay well it always is
14:16Derby-esque
14:17Derby-esque
14:17I want derby full
14:21James stays out there
14:22with Hachimor, Kinnar,
14:23Larabia and Hayes
14:25Holiday, Akogi
14:25Thompson, Shingun and Smith
14:27the five for Houston
14:28Holiday forced the turnover
14:30looking to run
14:31Holiday puts the head down
14:33and he gets all the way
14:34to the rim
14:34he couldn't finish it
14:35now James the other way
14:37nobody back for Houston
14:38James will go
14:39coast to coast
14:40and he tripped
14:41Thompson the last line
14:42of defense
14:43and LeBron will shoot too
14:45and he is feeling it there
14:47looked like he fell right
14:49on that shooting elbow
14:52that poor court balance
14:55looked like right here
14:55LeBron
14:56kind of catching the nose
14:58of it
14:59Thompson in transition
15:01but smart initiating
15:03the contact there
15:06grimacing
15:08Laker grimacing here
15:09on the floor there
15:10I guess when you're 41
15:13you earn the right
15:14to do that
15:16the poor
15:17floor balance
15:18has everybody
15:19went to the glass
15:20there for Houston
15:21nobody back in defense
15:23you know what number
15:24of playoff game
15:25this is for
15:26LeBron James
15:27as he plays
15:28another one
15:28with his son
15:29Bronny
15:29do you know
15:30how many he has played
15:31over the course
15:32of his career
15:32I don't
15:33but I know
15:34I'm going to find out soon
15:36296th playoff game
15:37today
15:37so that's like
15:40I'm not good with numbers
15:41but that's three full NBA
15:43seasons
15:44three and a half full
15:45NBA regular seasons
15:46if you just added up
15:47only his playoff experience
15:49not to mention
15:50think about all the years
15:51that he sent his team
15:52to the finals
15:52played deep into June
15:53and then had to come
15:55right back
15:55and in October
15:56start that next season
15:57the durability factor
15:58has been off the charts
16:00a lot of mileage
16:00on that body
16:01but still
16:03effective getting it done
16:04Shang-Goon with a touch
16:06back down on Hayes
16:07that's bully ball
16:08and he'll get free throws
16:11and that is bully ball
16:13and the decisive move
16:15there from Shang-Goon
16:16just catches it
16:16at the elbow
16:17using that size
16:20backing down
16:20no resistance there
16:22from Hayes
16:23and you know
16:23I thought Shang-Goon
16:24in the first two games
16:25in LA
16:26he struggled
16:26shooting over the length
16:28of the Lakers centers
16:29but kind of found
16:31his rhythm there
16:32in game three
16:33big time scoring effort
16:34and must continue
16:35with that here
16:36in game four
16:37the game sits
16:38and smart back in
16:39you mentioned
16:40the game three
16:40efficiency
16:42Shang-Goon
16:43playoff career high
16:44and points and rebounds
16:4533 points
16:4616 boards
16:47he was the first rocket
16:48with 30 or more points
16:50and 15 or more rebounds
16:51in a playoff game
16:52since Charles Barkley
16:53against the Lakers
16:54in 1999
16:57oh
16:57oh
16:58rarefied air
17:00we do have some
17:01other rarefied air
17:03type
17:03Houston Rockets
17:04in the building
17:05that did come to
17:06pay their respects
17:07to Grant Hill
17:07some legends here
17:09I was surprised
17:09they came up
17:10I thought they were
17:10coming over to
17:12to see me
17:13to see Tyler
17:14and that's going to be
17:16a blocking foul
17:17just a half step late
17:18as Hayes was
17:20rocketing down the rim
17:21Thompson's going to
17:22pick it up
17:24great ball movement
17:25there
17:26dribble handoff
17:27and Hayes
17:28that's what he's known
17:29for diving to the rim
17:30I'm in Thompson
17:31just a little bit late
17:32on that rotation
17:33heels were on the
17:34dotted line there
17:36let me talk with
17:37J.J. Reddick
17:38he said you know
17:39we got away in that
17:39second half
17:40in game three
17:41with ball movement
17:42player movement
17:43getting the ball
17:44side to side
17:45working that defense
17:46and
17:46it's a confidence
17:48that when they do
17:48they can get good looks
17:50and opportunities
17:50every possession
17:52this was moments ago
17:53remember LeBron
17:54took that ball
17:55and looked like
17:56he was holding
17:56his shooting elbow
17:57you see as he went
17:58to the bench
17:59he was wincing
18:00certainly feeling
18:01the pain
18:02but
18:03continues to
18:04cool off
18:05and gets set
18:06for his next stint
18:07meanwhile
18:07already two fouls
18:09on him
18:09in Thompson
18:10and Reed Shepard
18:11in this opening quarter
18:12this is not a team
18:13especially without
18:14Durant, Van Vliet
18:15and Steven Adams
18:16that has a ton of
18:17depth available to them
18:19and only three
18:20bench points
18:21in game three
18:22which is the lowest
18:23of the season
18:24get it inside
18:25Thompson had it
18:25knocked away
18:26and they're going
18:27to call it a jump
18:28ball
18:33great hands here
18:34by LaRavia
18:35there
18:37preventing a
18:38layup there
18:39at the rim
18:40from Thompson
18:40and I'm not sure
18:41it was a jump
18:42ball
18:45it looked like
18:46he just swiped
18:46at it
18:47if anything
18:47it might be
18:48an up and down
18:48there by Thompson
18:49he had landed
18:50before he passed
18:52it to the corner
18:54they do have
18:55crisscross playing
18:56so automatically
18:56it's a good decision
18:58I like that
19:00McDaddy
19:01going to make it
19:02Thompson wins the tap
19:03back down on
19:04Shen Goon
19:05and a pull
19:07is going to be
19:07called on Marcus
19:08Smart
19:08Shen Goon
19:09again forcing
19:10the issue
19:10with the physical
19:11play
19:11and not a lot
19:13of ball movement
19:13here from the Rockets
19:14Shen Goon
19:15just catching it
19:16at the top
19:16of the key
19:17and backing down
19:18the defender
19:18doesn't matter
19:19if it's
19:20Hayes
19:21Aiden
19:21or Smart
19:22there
19:23that's kind
19:24of been the
19:24M.O.
19:24this year
19:25for the Rockets
19:25not a lot
19:26of ball movement
19:27a lot of
19:27isolation
19:28one-on-one
19:28Thompson
19:30connects on the
19:31day
19:34nearly 20 points
19:36per game
19:36in the series
19:3726 points
19:38and 11 rebounds
19:39in the game
19:40three loss
19:42his 11th

19:48Lala Alvin
19:49Hayes had to go up

19:52Easton claims

19:54if they hurry
19:54Shen Goon

19:58Alperin Shen Goon
19:59with a slam
20:04the eyes
20:05they never lie

21:00legendary names
21:01in the history of basketball
21:02that's about as good
21:03as it gets
21:04three of the best

21:08bringing up the heavy

21:10in this must win game
21:11the five
21:12by the way
21:12everyone talks about
21:14Victor Mbanyama
21:14and what a physical
21:15freak he is
21:16as smart courts
21:17the turnover

21:23Laravia
21:24sticks it back
21:26but Ralph Sampson
21:27when he was at
21:28Virginia
21:28the things he was
21:30doing at his size
21:30were and still are
21:32in many ways
21:33unheard
21:33unheard of indeed
21:34and even early
21:35in his career
21:35in Houston
21:36I mean just
21:39looking alongside
21:40Olajuwon
21:40the versatility
21:41the ball handling
21:42shooting
21:42ahead of his time
21:44unfortunately
21:45injuries got the
21:46best of him
21:47Shingu
21:49just forced
21:50Jackson Hayes
21:51into his second

21:53if it ain't
21:54broke
21:54don't change
21:55anything
21:56it's isolation
21:57here
21:57spread the floor

21:59Shingu
21:59take his time
22:00the Lakers
22:01are hesitant
22:02to help
22:03and he's using
22:04his physicality
22:05his strength
22:06to get to his
22:07spot
22:07drawing a foul
22:08on the line
22:10where he

23:09and spoke
23:09with the
23:10men
23:10Thompson
23:10and their
23:10biggest thing
23:11for these
23:12first three
23:12games was
23:13keeping the
23:13Lakers
23:14under 30
23:15points
23:15they feel
23:15like that
23:16has been
23:16just the
23:17problem
23:17in these
23:18last three
23:18games
23:19so right
23:19now we're
23:19off to a
23:20good start
23:20but they said
23:21the sense of
23:21urgency to
23:22come out
23:22and play
23:22the defense
23:23that we're
23:23seeing in the
23:24first
23:24I think
23:25it's gonna
23:25be the
23:25difference
23:26maker
23:26for game
23:26four

23:31in the
23:31series
23:31you take
23:31away a lot
23:32of those
23:32first quarters
23:33and how far
23:33down they've
23:34had to come
23:34back from
23:35to get themselves
23:36back into the
23:37game
23:37you said
23:37you can't have it
23:38happen today
23:38in a do or die
23:40situation
23:40much better
23:41start
23:41and Shangun
23:42continues to
23:43produce
23:43it's a great
23:44position there
23:45ceiling inside
23:46Aiton has to
23:47have a little bit
23:47more resistance
23:48fighting him
23:49for that spot
23:49leading score
23:50now with eight
23:51points

24:16and
24:16this
24:17Ashley
24:18talked about
24:18getting off
24:19to these
24:20good starts
24:20the first
24:21three games
24:21the Lakers
24:22scored 30
24:23plus
24:23in all three
24:25right now
24:26the defense
24:27is what's
24:28leading the
24:28charge for the
24:29Rockets
24:29and Marcus
24:30Smart
24:30just calms it

24:35points
24:35that matches
24:36what Houston
24:37had as a team
24:38in game three
24:38with one shot
24:43two for one
24:44opportunity
24:45here for the
24:45Rockets

25:05that production

27:47continues
27:47for the
27:48Lakers
27:48eight
27:48turnovers
27:49in that
27:50first quarter
27:50too many
27:51turnovers
27:51they got to
27:52value the
27:52basketball
27:53and value
27:53every possession
27:54there's a
27:55tic-tac
27:55foul from
27:56Tari Eason
27:57on LeBron
27:58James
27:58meanwhile
27:59first minutes
28:00for Bronny
28:00James as we've
28:01seen through
28:01this series
28:02and he has
28:02provided a
28:03nice spark
28:04off the bench
28:04had the five
28:05points on
28:06back-to-back
28:06possessions in
28:07game three
28:08that included
28:08the pull-up
28:08three and
28:09then the lob
28:10from his
28:10dad
28:11those two
28:12have had so
28:13much fun
28:13and have
28:14talked about
28:14how much
28:14of a joy
28:15and a privilege
28:16that has been
28:16sharing the court
28:17in playoffs
28:18in meaningful
28:19minutes
28:19as Aiden
28:20couldn't secure
28:21the offensive rebound
28:22but there was a
28:22reason why
28:23he was held
28:24this was from
28:25game three
28:26this is a moment
28:28that you gotta
28:28have saved
28:29if you're the
28:30James family
28:30immediately
28:31100%
28:32what a beautiful
28:33play and a
28:34beautiful moment
28:35as you said
28:36James to James
28:38I'm sure they
28:38practiced that
28:39a few times
28:40in the driveway
28:40yeah maybe
28:41the rim
28:42was a little
28:42lower when
28:42they did it
28:43back in the
28:43day but
28:44you do it
28:45on a playoff
28:46court and
28:46LeBron just
28:47feels like
28:47he feels
28:48his son's
28:49confidence rising
28:50with each
28:50minute he
28:51has spent
28:51out there
28:52he's gonna
28:52get the
28:52grenade here
28:53attack
28:53lob
28:54and put
28:54it in
28:55what a
28:56find by
28:56James and
28:57Aiden
28:57does the
28:57rest
28:58talking about
28:59confidence
29:00what a
29:00drive and
29:01finish
29:02James just
29:03continues to
29:04be more and
29:05more comfortable
29:05here in the
29:06postseason
29:06funny James
29:08at that
29:08well both of
29:09them are
29:09comfortable
29:11Thompson
29:11the Euro
29:12and the English
29:13but he couldn't
29:14put it all
29:14the way down
29:18James
29:19James gonna
29:19be hounded
29:20by Aaron
29:21Holiday
29:21another royal
29:22family in the
29:22NBA
29:24James
29:24had the opening
29:26didn't take it
29:26instead of
29:27touching more
29:27back outside
29:28James attack
29:29on Holiday
29:30got in the
29:30paint
29:30spray it out
29:31Vanderbilt
29:32open
29:32can't hit the
29:33three
29:33and the rebound
29:34falls right to
29:35Finney Smith
29:35the former
29:36Laker
29:39Lakers
29:39now 0 for
29:403 from
29:41downtown
29:41that's been
29:41an area
29:42they have
29:42really excelled
29:43so far
29:44in this
29:44series
29:44they're
29:45shooting
29:4546%
29:46from
29:47three-point
29:47territory
29:48the best
29:48in the
29:48playoffs
29:50Holiday
29:50shoveled
29:51extra
29:51Eason
29:52sets the
29:52feet
29:52can't hit
29:53the three
29:55just a
29:56great late
29:56closeout
29:57there by
29:58Vanderbilt
29:58Vanderbilt
29:59on Eason's
30:01three there
30:01and they
30:02force the
30:02turnover
30:03on LeBron
30:03all alone
30:04it's Eason
30:08and that's
30:09how they have
30:10to play
30:10I mean
30:11they have
30:11to force
30:11turnovers
30:12the Lakers
30:12game one
30:1320 turnovers
30:15game three
30:16they
30:16turned it over
30:1721 times
30:19active hands
30:20and intensity
30:21for the Rockets
30:21not only stop
30:22them on defense
30:23but create those
30:24offensive looks
30:25at the other end
30:27games back down
30:29on Smith
30:30double comes
30:31James
30:31off the side
30:32of the backboard
30:35now it's Thompson
30:36in transition
30:37no numbers
30:38will pull it back
30:38has taken a major
30:39step as a playmaker
30:41they put the ball
30:42in his
30:42and Reed Shepard's
30:43hands
30:43with the injury
30:44preseason
30:45of Fred VanVleet
30:46little zone look
30:47matchup zone
30:48with a spin
30:49and Thompson
30:50showing off
30:50the athleticism
30:52just a great
30:54first step
30:55a burst
30:55as Fred VanVleet
30:56approves
31:00largest lead
31:02here for
31:02Houston
31:03three minutes
31:03into the second
31:06tomorrow
31:07looking inside
31:07for Aiden
31:08got the matchup
31:10with Benny Smith
31:10and he knocks
31:11down the J
31:12Baker has needed
31:14that right there
31:16trying to
31:16manufacture
31:17offense
31:18as Marcus
31:19Smart
31:19and Kennard
31:20who've been so
31:21good on the
31:22perimeter
31:22in this series
31:23or on the
31:23bench
31:24Aiden
31:25getting involved
31:28Smith
31:30working on
31:30James
31:32he'll step
31:33into it
31:33can't catch in
31:34and the rebound
31:35of Vanderbilt
31:37trying to get it to
31:38LeBron
31:38instead
31:39it'll be
31:40Bronny
31:40got to get it
31:41across here
31:42and he does
31:42just in time
31:45bounce it back
31:46Bronny
31:48find the open man
31:50and
31:51Hachamora
31:51puts down
31:52their first
31:52three of the night
31:53and Bronny
31:54James has done
31:55a good job
31:56driving
31:56getting paint
31:57touches
31:58finding shooters
31:59Vanderbilt
31:59missed the corner
32:00three
32:00but Hachamora
32:02knocking down
32:03that open
32:03three
32:03two assists
32:04for Bronny
32:05and his four
32:05minutes of action
32:07now it's
32:08Thompson's turn
32:09going right at
32:10Aiden
32:10couple of pumps
32:11Holiday with
32:1310 to shoot
32:13Thompson at the
32:14free throw line
32:15and he finishes
32:16over the top
32:17of Aiden
32:18nice contest
32:19there by Aiden
32:20with Thompson
32:21making them pay
32:25well clock
32:26issue here
32:27shot clock
32:28started before
32:28the inbounds
32:30you know
32:30just double
32:31checking
32:32and it looks
32:33like
32:34all is good
32:35here
32:37743
32:37back on the
32:38clock
32:38and so important
32:39for JJ Redick
32:40and his Lakers
32:41to make sure
32:42they don't
32:43turn the ball
32:43I mean
32:44they're getting
32:44good looks
32:45even if they
32:46don't score
32:47they have a chance
32:47to get back
32:48set their defense
32:49those live ball
32:51turnovers
32:52are really
32:52what has
32:54Houston
32:54in this lead
32:55right now
32:56James will pull
32:59rebound
32:59back tap
33:00Bronny James
33:01is there
33:02Machimora
33:02thought about it
33:04Bronny with
33:059 to shoot
33:05back to Rui
33:07now it's
33:08LeBron James
33:09in the corner
33:09Florida shoot
33:11James a tough one
33:12weak side
33:14rebound
33:14Vanderbilt again
33:15keeps it alive
33:16and then could
33:17not secure it
33:18Aiden tried
33:18to squeeze it
33:19right here
33:23just a beautiful
33:24spin
33:25one of the best
33:26first steps
33:27in all of
33:27basketball
33:28so hard
33:29and we talked
33:30about Bronny
33:30James
33:31he's getting
33:31into the defense
33:32collapsing the
33:33defense
33:33and finding
33:34open shooters
33:37Lakers
33:37manufacturing
33:38some baskets
33:39here
33:41midway through
33:41this second
33:42quarter
33:42JJ Redick
33:43said they've
33:44got their
33:44kind of set
33:45rotation
33:45certainly
33:46in the first
33:46half
33:47but then
33:47based on the
33:48flow of the
33:48game
33:49into the
33:49third and
33:49fourth quarter
33:50as they start
33:50to go with
33:51more of a
33:52feel
33:52which is why
33:52Bronny got
33:53that second
33:53stint in game
33:54three
33:54he played
33:55his five
33:55minute stint
33:56here in game
33:56two
33:56we'll see
33:57if he makes
33:58another return
33:58as Shepard
33:59comes up short
34:01Smart hits
34:02the deck
34:02Smart
34:03Hachimora
34:04Kennard
34:04Aiden
34:05and James
34:05the starting
34:06five
34:06back out
34:07there for
34:07LA
34:07what a
34:08oh
34:09it's
34:10spiked
34:10back
34:11Dorian
34:12finish
34:12Smith
34:12got up
34:15Shepard
34:16on the
34:16drive
34:17the
34:18fin
34:18Shanggu
34:19the finish
34:20plus one
34:24it's
34:24defense
34:25to offense
34:26in Houston
34:28and Noah
34:29that's been
34:30Houston
34:30at their
34:31best
34:31active
34:32hands
34:33active
34:33bodies
34:34great defense
34:35a beautiful
34:35block
34:36in transition
34:37the big man
34:38runs
34:38reward them
34:39the Rockets
34:40rolling
34:44now for
34:45progressive
34:45game flow
34:46with the Rockets
34:47up by nine
34:48well the flow
34:48has been defense
34:49but Gemiadoko
34:50wanted from his
34:51group here
34:52in this important
34:53game four
34:54and obviously
34:55the defense
34:56forcing turnovers
34:57swarming like
34:59unselfish play
35:00in transition
35:01really their best
35:02offense
35:03and most
35:03efficient
35:04offense
35:05here
35:05in this
35:05first half
35:06has been
35:06great defense
35:07and the question
35:09is can they
35:10continue
35:10Houston
35:11has been up
35:12all season
35:13just unable
35:14to hold on
35:15to leads
35:16particularly
35:16in the fourth
35:17quarter
35:17but right now
35:18sticking to the
35:19script and game
35:20plan from their
35:21coach
35:21points in their
35:23favor so far
35:24as we check in
35:25with Ashley
35:25yeah guys the Rockets
35:26playing so smoothly
35:27on both ends
35:28and like you mentioned
35:28really good defense
35:29translating to better
35:30offense
35:30we have to remember
35:31they're doing all this
35:32without Kevin Durant
35:33talking to Ime Udoka
35:34before the game
35:34he said we talked
35:36about it as a staff
35:36and related to the guys
35:37we have done this
35:38before there was a
35:39back-to-back during
35:40the regular season
35:40Phoenix and Golden State
35:42they didn't have KD
35:43for personal reasons
35:44he said it was some of
35:45our best game
35:46so we have proved
35:46that we can do this
35:48and of course
35:49turnover
35:49as Smart
35:50just fumbles
35:51that one out of
35:52bounds
35:52not only proved
35:53that they can do
35:54this without KD
35:55before but also proved
35:56that they can come
35:57back from a postseason
35:58deficit last year
35:59down 3-1
35:59to the Golden State
36:01Warriors
36:01they forced a game
36:02seven and eventually
36:03fall just short
36:04to Steph Curry
36:04and company
36:05but he may felt like
36:06guys you've been
36:07here before
36:07backs against the wall
36:08can you respond
36:09and do it again
36:10Jabari Smith
36:11not that time
36:12and it's poked
36:13to Hachimura
36:14this is the largest
36:15lead of the series
36:16though for Houston
36:17now in double figures
36:21Aiton's fan
36:21and score
36:23like the footwork
36:24there by Aiton
36:26they're decisive
36:27getting to that
36:27hook shot
36:29once again
36:30in L.A.
36:30they turn it over
36:32as they have 11
36:33here in this first half
36:34they keep quality
36:35looks at the possession
36:36Ben Goon
36:37the only player
36:38in double figures
36:39on either team
36:39looking to get
36:40his lick back
36:40throw it in between
36:42two
36:42but Thompson
36:43comes away with it
36:44seven to shoot
36:46directing traffic
36:47Thompson
36:48thought about it
36:49three to shoot
36:49it is Vinny Smith
36:51had it stripped
36:52and Smart comes away
36:52with a loose ball
36:53now it's James
36:54on the run
36:55LeBron puts the head down
36:56and he can't finish
36:58but the foul
36:58is going to go
36:59against Jabari Smith Jr.
37:04that's all you can do
37:05when he gets
37:06those steps going
37:07and transition
37:08not afraid
37:10to use the body
37:11and
37:11a late
37:13swipe at the ball
37:14by Jabari Smith
37:15really all you can do
37:16but
37:16we talked about
37:18LeBron in game three
37:1945 minutes
37:21how is he going to look
37:23coming out here
37:23in game four
37:24and
37:24looks
37:26spry
37:27looks young

38:00he's now up to
38:028 points
38:03and give the Lakers credit
38:04playing great at all
38:05on the road
38:06little sluggish
38:07turning the ball over
38:08but just staying attached
38:09not letting Houston
38:11extend that lead
38:12that they've gotten
38:13to 10 at times
38:14oh that's a deep one
38:15Shepard comes up short
38:16rebound into the hands
38:18of Shangun
38:18second chance
38:19Shangun
38:20and he's fouled
38:21Jackson Hayes
38:23trying to stay in front
38:24Hayes already had
38:25the two quick fouls
38:26earlier in this game
38:27and now he's going
38:28to pick up number three
38:31how about the skill
38:32there from Shangun
38:336'11
38:35243 pounds
38:37great activity
38:38from Finney Smith
38:39and there's the Euro
38:41he doesn't play
38:42above the rim
38:43but he's crafty
38:44great footwork
38:46ball fakes
38:48just second time
38:50all-star
38:51and game three
38:52showed he was
38:53an all-star
38:53and continues
38:55but there's 11 points
38:56here in the second quarter
38:57there's one downside
38:58so far tonight
38:59free throw shooting
39:00three of six

40:13Shangun's gonna go right
40:14back at him
40:15put the shoulder in

40:27Emei Odoka
40:29Houston had a
40:3010-point cushion
40:31the Lakers have
40:32battled back
40:33within a possession
40:36key move
40:37and great action
40:39right here
40:39Noah
40:40the Lakers run
40:41some Spain action
40:42a little high screen
40:43roll
40:43Kennard sets the
40:44back screen on
40:45Hayes' man
40:46both defenders
40:47going to Kennard
40:48beautiful pass
40:49and execution
40:50by the Lakers
40:51and in transition
40:52you look at
40:53Kennard
40:53in high school
40:53was a quarterback
40:54looked like one
40:55right there
40:55found the wide receiver
40:58Moravia
40:59early post up
41:00in transition
41:01the frustration
41:02from the Rockets
41:03as the Lakers
41:04go on a little bit
41:05of a run here
41:06Grant he was a
41:06quarterback
41:07but he was a
41:08right-handed quarterback
41:09he was
41:09and he's led the NBA
41:11on several occasions
41:12in three-point shooting
41:13as a left-handed shooter
41:15never makes any sense
41:16it doesn't
41:17Thompson
41:17can't hit there
41:18JJ Reddick said
41:19he does basically
41:20everything else
41:20right-handed
41:21and yet he's the best
41:22spot-up shooter
41:23in the league
41:24right now
41:25he's a lefty
41:25so that might have
41:26been my problem
41:26I probably should have
41:27shot the ball
41:28he started shooting
41:29lefty
41:29see what happens
41:30this time
41:31he tried to get it
41:31inside
41:32and left-handed pass
41:33he was taken away
41:33Shepard up ahead
41:34Easton behind the pack
41:36he's fouled hard by
41:37Hachamora
41:40so Easton will shoot
41:42a pair
41:423-0-9 to play
41:44in this first half
41:44and this is where
41:46the Rockets have had
41:47success in transition
41:48a little bit late
41:49they're getting back
41:50all Hachamora could do
41:53is reach in there
41:55if not
41:55it would have been
41:56an easy two
41:56for Easton
41:57but
41:59like the energy
42:00and the intensity
42:02that these Rockets
42:03continue to play with
42:04here
42:04in the second quarter
42:06so Easton
42:07with his first
42:08attempts of the night
42:09two points
42:10five rebounds
42:11two assists
42:11two steals
42:13and that emphatic block
42:14in 18 minutes so far
42:15he could win a trip

42:28an important time
42:29for both teams
42:30who can go into
42:31the half
42:31with some momentum
42:33game two
42:34in LA
42:36Rockets pretty much
42:37dominated that
42:38first half
42:38the Lakers
42:39closed strong
42:40and then used
42:41that momentum
42:42to fuel them
42:43in the second half
42:44closing halves
42:46always important
42:47particularly in the playoffs
42:50smart inside
42:52Dayton
42:52good run
42:53by a Kogi
42:54but it didn't matter
42:55for eight
42:55too big
42:56for the Dukes
42:59so
43:00eight now
43:01up to ten points
43:02on five of six
43:03shooting
43:03he's the leading
43:03scorer for LA
43:04bounce it
43:05Thompson
43:05spray it out
43:06and a Kogi
43:07knocks it through
43:09maybe their best
43:10half court set
43:11there
43:11the Rockets
43:12ball movement
43:13player movement
43:15potato
43:15leading to that
43:16open corner three
43:17ten assists
43:18now for this
43:19Houston offense
43:21smart looking
43:21right back
43:22to Dayton
43:22this time
43:24he just
43:24was awry
43:25as he tried
43:26to deliver it
43:26over the top
43:27of the size advantage
43:28tracked down
43:28by Leeson
43:29numbers if they
43:30really hurry here
43:31Shepard stop on a dime
43:34Aiden stayed with him
43:35reset for a Kogi
43:3615 to shoot for Shepard
43:38now a switch
43:39against Aiden
43:40back on a Kogi
43:41they want that
43:42mismatch
43:43with Shepard
43:44on Aiden
43:46can't get it
43:46skip it
43:47Thompson
43:48for a shoot
43:49a man
43:50cross
43:51and it
43:52catches in
43:53I'll tell you what
43:54he has worked on
43:55that little pull up
43:56jump shot
43:56as he continues
43:57to make that
43:58he will be dangerous
44:04Thompson now
44:05eight points
44:07and the Lakers
44:09will take a time
44:09Smart did put that
44:11one through
44:11on his way
44:13to the bench
44:13Rockets up eight
44:16Houston
44:17with Kevin Durant
44:18out for the game
44:19and Shingled
44:19on the bench
44:20this set right here
44:21was great action
44:23ball movement
44:25dribble handoff
44:26pick and roll
44:26the ball didn't stick
44:28great activity
44:29and speaking of
44:31great activity
44:31one of the best ever
44:33the dream
44:34well hold on a second
44:35that dude's got a
44:36Lakers hat
44:37and Hakeem jer
44:38oh he's got a
44:39Laker jersey
44:39under the Hakeem jersey
44:42what's happening here
44:43I think
44:44whatever team is hot
44:45at that moment
44:46he just kind of
44:47goes with you know
44:47yeah he's got options
44:48he's got options
44:49it's important to have
44:50options in life
44:50is that what you're saying
44:52he's hedging his bets
44:53I gotta respect it
44:54I guess
44:55meanwhile
44:56eight point lead
44:57he's gone full Lakers
44:59now
44:59he's gone Lakers
45:00yeah
45:01full Lakers
45:02I mean somebody did
45:03ask you to sign a
45:04Laker jersey earlier
45:05today
45:05they did
45:06I was I was shocked
45:07I've never been asked
45:08you said it
45:08you got a piece of paper
45:09happy to do that
45:10I never played for them
45:13never played for them
45:14you know
45:14he's in third foul
45:16James
45:17back pass from Smoar
45:18oh they couldn't pick it up
45:20and Aiden's right there
45:21for the flush
45:25caught sleeping
45:26in the backcourt
45:29and Aiden with a dozen
45:31in this first half
45:32oh the spin
45:33Shepard bounce
45:34and Shang-Goon
45:35extra
45:35it's Smith
45:36Hachimura got a piece
45:38what a play by Thompson
45:39a chance for three
45:42and yeah
45:42you can flex on him
45:46oh my
45:48right there was
45:49just an incredible athlete
45:51Thompson goes up
45:53gets the short shot
45:55the presence of mind
45:56to put it back in
45:57endure the contact
45:59as well
46:00the freakish athlete
46:02just kind of
46:03wills it in there
46:06Thompson
46:0710 points
46:083 rebounds
46:093 assists
46:11his activity
46:13just never stops
46:14moving
46:14on both ends
46:16meanwhile
46:17the foul
46:18going against
46:20DeAndre
46:20Aiden
46:21was his second
46:21something to keep an eye
46:23on as Aiden
46:24has been
46:24a driving force
46:25of this Laker offense
46:27meanwhile
46:28LeBron James
46:28has missed
46:29last three
46:29for the floor
46:30going to back down
46:31and it knocked away
46:32Shepard takes away
46:33with numbers
46:34the other way
46:35Shepard all the way
46:36in for two
46:43largest lead
46:44for Houston
46:45final minute
46:46of this second
46:49it's a 10-2
46:50Rockets run
46:51Aiden is sworn
46:52and Aiden
46:54gets the roll
46:56plus the foul
46:57looks to the heavens
46:58and says
46:59thank you very much
47:02but he has
47:03bailed them out
47:04here in this
47:05second quarter
47:05just using his size
47:07and his strength
47:09there
47:09beautiful touch
47:10great
47:12interior play
47:13and Aiden
47:13when he gets that
47:14ball against
47:15the smaller defenders
47:16he doesn't bring it
47:16down
47:16keeps it high
47:19looks like
47:19maybe a lane
47:20violation here
47:21on this free throw
47:22attempt
47:22and it was
47:24so Aiden
47:25will get another
47:26look at it
47:27he won't
47:27Thompson
47:27three fouls
47:28sometimes you got
47:29to gamble there
47:30Shepard
47:32gets the steal
47:33and says
47:34guys I'll do it
47:35myself
47:35I see you there
47:36when I got this
47:38he came over
47:39on the help
47:40he took it himself
47:41that singular
47:42swiping score
47:43we've seen him
47:44get up
47:44on a couple of
47:45occasions
47:46showing off
47:47that impressive
47:47vertical
47:48but he gets it
47:49he gets it
47:49innocently
47:50his mom
47:50was a
47:51pooper
47:51yes
47:52both his parents
47:54now
47:55Shen Goon
47:55that is
47:57going to be
47:57free throws
47:58for Alperen
47:59Shen Goon
48:01well DeAndre Aiden
48:03his role
48:04had been defined
48:05and at first
48:06it was
48:07an adjustment
48:08for him
48:08this season
48:09something he wasn't
48:10accustomed to
48:10as a number one
48:11overall pick
48:12to start his NBA
48:14career back in
48:142018
48:15but you come
48:16in the league
48:16you're a guy
48:17who averages
48:18a double
48:18double every year
48:19as one of the
48:20main options
48:21on your team
48:21for the majority
48:22of his career
48:22he gets here
48:23to LA
48:23and JJ Redick
48:24LeBron James
48:25Luka Doncic
48:26Austin Reeves
48:27they have so many
48:28ball handlers
48:28so many lethal
48:29offensive options
48:30and it was
48:31hey can you be
48:33what Clint Capella
48:34was for many years
48:35and he took offense
48:36to that at first
48:37but over time
48:39Aiden really bought in
48:40over the latter portion
48:41of the regular season
48:42and we've seen it
48:43in this series
48:44where he's been huge
48:45at critical moments
48:46in games
48:47for this group
48:47you said it best
48:48and you said
48:49what JJ Redick said
48:50when we met with him
48:51before the game
48:52the buy-in
48:52the complete buy-in
48:54and Aiden
48:54you see that
48:55what he's done
48:56he shot a career high
48:5780% at the rim
48:59during the regular season
49:00and 7 of 9 here
49:02with 15 points
49:04in the first half
49:055 second difference
49:06shot clock
49:06and game clock
49:07Houston by 9
49:08with a foul away
49:09from the ball
49:10and that's going
49:12to be free throws
49:12now for the Lakers
49:15and it's Smith
49:16that's going to be
49:17his third
49:18so
49:19I mean look at this
49:20three on East
49:21and three on Smith
49:22and
49:23Amen Thompson
49:24had picked up
49:26initially what looked
49:27like his third
49:28he's got to be smart
49:30in those situations
49:31for this young
49:31Rockets team
49:32I mean
49:33he made a nice run
49:34here the last
49:35three minutes
49:36and just
49:36giving them an
49:38opportunity to score
49:39right here
49:39they don't want to
49:41give them any life
49:41would be the Rockets
49:42meanwhile the good news
49:43for Houston
49:44they had changed
49:45what was the third
49:46foul on Thompson
49:47now to Okoge
49:48so two on Thompson
49:50Okoge is going to sit
49:53so Holiday
49:54Shepard
49:55Thompson
49:55Smith
49:56and Shang-Goon
49:56for the final possession
49:57in all likelihood
49:59coming up here
50:00for Houston
50:00they had
50:01what was it
50:0211 point cushion
50:03that's been trimmed
50:03back down to 8
50:04Smart will get
50:05one more free throw
50:104 points for
50:11Marcus Smart
50:1215 for 8
50:13and to go
50:13with 8 rebounds
50:14to lead all
50:15scores
50:15and rebounds
50:18shot clock off
50:20Thompson's got 11
50:21Shang-Goon with 12
50:23Shepard with 10
50:257 seconds left
50:26Thompson on the attack
50:27pump
50:28leave
50:29Shang-Goon
50:30couldn't finish
50:31got his own
50:322 seconds left
50:34James peeks at the clock
50:35he'll fling it down
50:36court
50:38and Houston
50:39will go into the break
50:40with a 9 point cushion
50:42behind 14 points
50:43from Alperin Shang-Goon
50:4511 from
50:46Ahmed Thompson
50:46and 10
50:47from Reed Shepard
50:51Oh a good close here
50:53that last 3 minutes
50:54for the Rockets
50:55doing it
50:56on the defensive end
50:57great execution
50:59on the offensive end
51:01right now
51:02the Rockets
51:02cruising here
51:03in this first half
51:04let's go to Ashley
51:05all right Alperin
51:06I know the message
51:06before the game
51:07was the importance
51:08of the first quarter
51:09how did you guys
51:10get off to a good start
51:11and execute that game plan
51:12I mean that was
51:13one of our problems
51:14first 3 games
51:16just starting the game
51:16bad
51:17bad today
51:18we want to set this
51:19on from the beginning
51:20you know
51:20come out of hot
51:21defense offense
51:23and everybody
51:23doing a great job
51:24today
51:24your physicality
51:25in the paint
51:26what are you seeing
51:27defensively
51:28that's allowing you
51:28to control that area
51:31you know
51:31I deal with that
51:33whole year
51:33and this is a playoff
51:34I'm ready for it
51:35you know
51:36that doesn't bother me
51:37anymore
51:37I just got some
51:39couple mistakes
51:41but I'm a better
51:42second half
51:43Auburn thank you
51:44good luck this next time
51:48Houston up by 9
51:49trying to extend
51:50its season
51:51as we go back
51:51to the studio
51:52with Marie and the guys
51:53all right
51:54appreciate it Noah
51:54coming up on
51:55American Express
51:56at the half
51:56you see the Rockets
51:57put the brooms away
51:58hold up
51:59we'll let you know
52:00how they got that lead
52:01for the first time
52:02they lead at half
52:03in this series
52:03and if they can
52:04but the Rockets
52:11look to keep
52:12their season alive
52:13and avoid a sweep
52:14next on NBC
52:16numbers the other way
52:17if they hurry
52:18Shang-Goon
52:19looked it off
52:20and flies in

53:22getting to the
53:22paint
53:23and they just
53:24got to continue
53:25to swarm on
53:26defense and make
53:27life miserable
53:27for the Lakers
