00:05Priya from Pinner in northwest London is fundraising to raise £50,000 for Hillingdon Hospital to build a bereavement suite
00:13which will see bereaved parents given a safe space to process their loss, far away from the maternity and antenatal

00:21which is often such a difficult experience for grieving mothers.
00:24After suffering the devastating stillborn birth of her son, Cheyenne, three years ago.
00:30A full-time scientist, Priya juggles her job with looking after her and her husband's two daughters
00:37with fundraising for the hospital which has included organising Diwali and Christmas events for children.
00:42She also offers online support to other bereaved parents and has appeared on television to discuss her experience
00:49in the hope of encouraging others to talk about their emotions.
00:52As well as all this, Priya and her husband have paid for water pumps in Cheyenne's name
00:58to provide safe water for residents in the Indian state of Gujarat
01:02as well as helping provide supplies for school children in the area.
01:06She is a shiny example of how it is possible to turn such a tragic personal experience into something that
01:13can help others.
01:14She embodies kindness. Congratulations Priya.

01:27I feel so happy that this topic of baby loss is brought into the light in this way.
01:35I would give anything to not be doing this type of work right now.
01:39And like so many parents out there who have gone through the same loss, this is kind of for you.
01:46You'll know what I mean if you've been through this loss, that how important it is that other people remember
01:51your child.
01:52For the future, it's getting to that £50,000 for Hillingdon Hospital.
01:57It's being able to do more and, you know, reach every hospital eventually.
02:03Every single person who suffers this tragedy should be able to get not only the absolute best care,
02:11but be in an environment which is thoughtful, which is loving.
02:16I don't think we'll stop until, you know, we see that happen, especially within this country.
02:20We'd like to say a really big thank you to every single person out there who has not only taken

02:28you know, to the nieces who are sacrificing Christmas presents this year.
