00:11Our nominees for the Teenage Cancer Trust Awards.
00:14When I had a first cancer, I felt very isolated.
00:19Whatever I do now, I always think to that 18-year-old crystal
00:23and think to myself, how would you would have appreciated what I'm doing now?
00:29And to actually show her that she's not alone.
00:33We've managed, I think, over the years to inspire a few other people.
00:37We've got them involved.
00:39But what we do is say it because you can.
00:42They know that you're there at the end of the phone,
00:44which you think is not a lot because you've gone from this great face-to-face work
00:49and then all of a sudden you get validation.
00:51So at least we knew you were there, which is a great privilege.
00:55It's the best job I've ever had.
00:56Richard that did so much fundraising before he died.
01:01And I've carried it on and I'm delighted to have done it.
01:06It's not me. It's the people who give.

01:13Alex inspired 40 of his workmates, friends and family together,
01:17including his gran, to show their solidarity and, get this, shave their heads.
01:22So I would just like to say I didn't force anyone to shave their heads.
01:26They all did it voluntarily.
01:28As a cancer nurse you're used to having difficult conversations and complex conversations.
01:34The team and I had to think on our feet.
01:36A word has been used earlier called family.
01:39I think that's what all this is really an expression.
01:42You know, it's not just you, you're not alone.
01:45I think our honorary patrons have a little bit of exciting news for you all.
01:49We wanted to let you all know that you're not all nominees, you're all winners.
01:54Yay!
01:57Now more than ever, with all of us sitting here behind screens,
02:01we can spread love and kindness and that's so important.
02:04So thank you so much for sharing today and for doing all that you can
02:09to support young people and Teenage Cancer Trust.
