00:00And what are the main themes that arise with the young people that you speak to in the communities that
00:05you work with?
00:05Are there sort of common things and things that come up a lot that the young people want to see
00:11changing?
00:12Or is it quite a broad spectrum?
00:17So we always, I guess the things that we always get that come up in conversations will be gang crime,
00:23will be mental health because they feel like they don't get the right support there.
00:28It's so fantastic that the lots of people in communities have reached out at this time,
00:33really showing that community spirit and actually helping out individuals and everybody as a whole.
00:39So it's been, you know, the pandemic has been such a pressure for everybody,
00:44but actually some of the highlights, I think, is the way that communities have pulled together
00:48and also how people have sort of stepped up and volunteered and given their time.
00:52And these small acts of kindness and things like that, they go such a long way to individuals,
00:57like Linda here, makes your lifeline really to them. So yeah, a huge well done.
01:02I'm representing a group of about 30 volunteers.
01:05And since the crisis, we've basically been working together to increase the amount of food that's grown locally.
01:11So we've been supporting families to grow more food at home.
01:15And we've also been working with farmers to put some kind of field scale vegetable crops in the ground.
01:20And we've been organising land army sessions and seed swaps.
01:23So we felt like, yeah, although the crisis has been difficult, this has been a really great opportunity to kind
01:29of connect with people locally
01:31and help them to do something positive and something that can bring them outside and also that kind of increases
01:36our local food resilience.
