00:00A night on New York Harbor turned deadly right near the Statue of Liberty, and now the captain
00:04of the boat is facing more than a dozen criminal charges. Police identified the two killed in the
00:09fatal boat accident as 27-year-old Sara Sanchez and her five-month-old daughter Antonella Garcia.
00:14The baby's father was also on board when the boat capsized near Liberty Island just before
00:1910.30 Saturday night. Authorities say 14 people were packed onto this roughly 21-foot motorboat,
00:24and sources say the vessel was dangerously overloaded for the conditions in New York
00:29Harbor. The boat's operator, 46-year-old Manuel Hernandez, has now been charged with 13 counts
00:34of reckless endangerment, and law enforcement sources say additional charges related to the deaths could
00:40still be coming. Now, the captain and the 11 other passengers had to be pulled from the water. Several
00:46of them were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. A massive response involving the NYPD,
00:51FDNY, Coast Guard, and Air-Sea rescue teams descended on the area with helicopters and rescue
00:57boats searching the dark water for survivors. The capsized boat has since been pulled from the harbor
01:02as investigators work to determine exactly what caused it to flip and whether the tragedy could
01:06have been prevented. Immigration officials say more than 1,200 people in the country illegally have been
01:12arrested in a major enforcement sweep across the Atlanta area. The Department of Homeland Security
01:17says 720 of those arrested have either been convicted or charged with crimes, including sex offenses,
01:23assault, domestic violence, drunk driving, and crimes involving children. The massive undertaking,
01:28dubbed Operation Safe Community Atlanta, is part of the Trump administration's expanding

01:37We arrested over 1,200 aliens, illegal aliens, out in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
01:44More than half of those people had criminal histories. And as you said, you know,
01:49we're talking about sex crimes, assault and battery, some with DUI convictions, domestic violence.
01:56ICE says its agents have also changed their tactics in response to protests and attempts to interfere
02:01with arrests. And the Atlanta sweep comes as immigration arrests are hitting record levels
02:07nationwide. ICE says it made roughly 51,000 arrests in July alone, and that's the highest monthly total
02:13in the agency's history. Officials say similar enforcement operations will continue in cities across the country.
02:20Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is getting very personal with her millions of social media
02:25followers documenting her decision to freeze her eggs. The 36-year-old New York Democrat revealed
02:30that she started the process during Congress's August recess, even posting a video of herself
02:35taking hormone injections that are required ahead of egg retrieval. AOC says that she's been saving up
02:40for the procedure and thinking about it for some time now. She described the decision as a way to give
02:44herself more control over her future. This is a choice that I am making
02:50to feel more in control of my life. And if people want to make assumptions about my decision,
03:03let them make those assumptions. I feel empowered to make this choice.
03:10AOC also connected the decision to the constant speculation about her political future, including
03:16whether or not she could run for president in 2028. She says questions about what office a
03:21politician may seek next often ignores the very personal life decisions women may be making at the
03:27same time. And when it comes to that, she is an open book. Before an appearance on ABC's This Week,
03:32AOC said that she planned to give herself one of those shots in the green room while getting ready to
03:36go on
03:36camera. The New York lawmaker says that she knows sharing something this personal could come with
03:41political risks, but hopes talking about it publicly will help normalize the conversation
