00:00All right, EB, you're back at 7 o'clock.
00:02Time to hit the skins, and you now have a sponsor.
00:04That's right.
00:05Hit the skins, brought to you by Don't Sleep Energy.
00:07Don't Sleep Energy, shot for right now, 12-ounce can for all day.
00:12Don'tSleepEnergy.com.
00:13You can use the code Junkies for 10% off.
00:17Don't sleep makes you great.
00:20Love, don't sleep energy.
00:23All right, guys, so obviously the big story, we talked about it earlier,
00:25you can't hit the skins without touching on it.
00:28But Laramie Tunsil suffered a torn triceps August 8th during a one-on-one
00:34with Daffy Owe, was immediately walked off into the medical tent,
00:39didn't talk about it, and then you got the news that he's likely going
00:44to need surgery.
00:46Estimates are anywhere from, I don't know, some said maybe in an extremely
00:51optimistic in like 12, 13 weeks or something, but most likely it's like
00:55four to six months, maybe seven months.
00:57I mean, maybe a miracle gets back in December, but he's going to miss most
01:01of the season.
01:01Yeah, correct.
01:02I think I would write him off that he's going to be gone for the 2026 season,
01:07and it sucks because, as we talked about in the first hour, he's arguably
01:11your best player.
01:13If his career ended today, I think he would end up with a gold jacket in Canton.
01:17You know, it's difficult.
01:19So it definitely...
01:20But it's not your starting quarterback.
01:22It's not your starting quarterback.
01:23You can overcome losing a tackle.
01:25I mean, Jason mentioned the Chargers, and it certainly wasn't a good situation
01:28for Justin Herbert that he lost both tackles, and at times he was a human
01:32piñata and took a ton of hits.
01:33They still made the playoffs.
01:35Yep.
01:35I mean, you can bounce back.
01:37Yeah.
01:38But if they had lost Justin Herbert and not the two tackles, they wouldn't
01:41have made the playoffs.
01:43And I'll say this, too, and I know we're going to talk about it throughout the
01:46show, but remember, Coleman was their third-round pick.
01:49I think he was picked 67th overall.
01:52He was kind of going to be the guy, and did okay, I think by all accounts, did a
01:56pretty good job at his rookie year, and people were kind of surprised when they
02:01drafted Tunsell, or traded for Tunsell, and then Coleman was moved inside because
02:08people assumed that he was going to have that position locked up.
02:11So I think they're making the right choice, putting him back at left tackle to see
02:15what he can do.
02:16They've already signed some reinforcements.
02:19They made some moves yesterday.
02:21They signed a center because, again, the offensive line right now is an issue.
02:25They signed Daniel Brunskill.
02:28Brunskill, yeah.
02:29They signed a tackle, Nicholas Petit-Fray, and then Frere, however you say that,
02:34forgive me, and then a guard, Max Sharping.
02:37They released wide receiver Chris Hilton.
02:39Remember, he's the LSU guy that has all the talent in the world, but just had injuries
02:44and other issues, but was really working hard.
02:45Yeah, but we talked about this last week, EB, with the addition of Diggs.
02:49I'd be curious to hear your take on this.
02:51It became a numbers game for a lot of these guys.
02:53So signing Diggs, good news.
02:56Fans excited about it, actually.
02:57Yeah.
02:58During the commercial break, I saw in the break room they had Fox 5 up, and they
03:02were doing a live hit from Commander's Training Camp.
03:05There were already people lining up, so there was a lot of excitement about the Diggs,
03:08but that was bad news for the guys at the end, like the Van Jeffersons.
03:13Yeah.
03:14I mean, they could still potentially make it, but it was going to be tough.
03:17We talked about it.
03:19If you went through the depth chart, and if you keep six, who of the guys who we've
03:24talked about that at one point were likely to make the team are on the outs.
03:28So we settled on Van Jefferson, and who's the other guy that we thought probably would
03:32make that?
03:33Probably Burks.
03:34Yeah, Traylon Burks might be on the outs.
03:35I think they'll keep seven.
03:36You think they're going to keep seven?
03:37I think they'll keep seven.
03:40But let's just play with six.
03:41We'll say keep six.
03:43Probably, it comes down to Burks.
03:45Well, there's five locks.
03:46There's five locks out of the six.
03:48I think so.
03:49And that sixth spot will be up for grabs.
03:50I think they'll keep seven, because I do think that they like Diami, and I do think
03:53that they like Burks.
03:55Yeah.
03:55And I don't think they're going to give up on Lane or McCaffrey.
03:58I don't know.
03:58They might want to keep some extra offensive linemen around.
04:01Well, certainly the offensive line is an issue.
04:03There's no doubt about it.
04:06But don't write it off.
04:07But again, they're going to fill in with Brandon Coleman.
04:12He'd been competing with Chris Paul at left guard.
04:15He's going to keep Connerly Jr. at right tackle.
04:18It opens up the left guard spot, where Chris Paul, it appears, you know, if he can stay
04:26healthy, is the leading candidate to stay there.
04:29Wiley will still be a swing option, can play at various positions.
04:35They signed a few other guys, as we mentioned, Petit Freer, Max Sharping, et cetera, another
04:40center and a guard.
04:41The Allegretti issue is a little bit concerning.
04:45You mentioned it.
04:46Big story.
04:47I know, like, I got a message from, like, online traffic was huge when the dig signing
04:52was announced.
04:53Yeah.
04:53And you guys were on air, at least the next day for that, right?
04:56So you got to talk about it.
04:57Yeah.
04:57Yeah.
04:58So that happened around 2 or 3 o'clock that day, I think.
05:01That was huge.
05:02You know, prior to the offensive line and some DB issues that people had, you know, everybody
05:08commented on needing a, like, a real legit number 2.
05:13And I think you guys probably talked about it, that I think by far this is the best player
05:19opposite Terry McLaurin he's had throughout his career, right?
05:22Yeah.
05:22Yeah.
05:22And look, the team, we had these discussions really for months.
05:26Once the season wrapped and we were looking at it, and during the draft prep, we thought
05:32there was a chance they might draft a wide receiver with that first-round pick.
05:34They didn't.
05:35So that's why the IU stuff was so loud, the connection to Jaden, but that there was a hole
05:41at number 2.
05:42But we had this discussion, well, maybe Adam Peters thinks that they're fine.
05:46That they're fine with these guys.
05:48The truth is, if Traylon Burks was the number 2, okay, he has potential.
05:5410 catches last year.
05:5510, you know, the proven guy.
05:58All the other guys, Jalen Lane, McCaffrey, none of them had any sort of significant season
06:03last year.
06:04None of them have the pedigree that Diggs has.
06:05There's no question about it.
06:07So, I mean, you could even call him 1A, 1B.
06:09I mean, Diggs is that kind of guy.
06:11I do think, though, that the early reports on Antonio Williams are good, and that what
06:18was obvious to anyone that saw his college highlights, that the route running, that wiggle
06:24that he has, is showing out in the clips that the reporters are putting out there, and you
06:29could hear people commenting on it.
06:31I think Antonio Williams is going to be a factor in this receiving core, even in his
06:34first year, even with the addition of Diggs.
06:37But they didn't have a clear-cut, proven number 2.
06:39No doubt about it.
06:40It's the best number 2 they've had in McLaurin's tenure.
06:43So, obviously, it's going to take some pressure off McLaurin.
06:47You know, they're not going to be able to maybe just take McLaurin out, right?
06:50They're going to have to really figure out who they're going to guard.
06:54I don't know if you guys have talked about it, but I know that they've been making a
06:57point of saying that Bill is catching a lot of balls out of the backfield.
07:01Yeah, he worked on that in the offseason.
07:02He's catching a lot of balls.
07:04Good.
07:05I mean, I know they were expecting Rashawn White to do that, but maybe Bill's going to
07:09do a lot of that.
07:11I think Bill's going to be their primary running back, and on first down, it can't
07:18just be a tell, like, oh, Bill's in the backfield, we're handing it off.
07:21You've got to mix it up a little bit.
07:23It's going to make him a lot more personal.
07:24That's good.
07:24He says, even though he's never really done it, like in college, he didn't have a ton
07:28of catches.
07:29No, he didn't.
07:29Didn't do it last year.
07:32He's making a point, like, hey, I can catch the football, so that's good to have
07:35another option.
07:37I've got to tell you, I said this earlier.
07:40After, watching Stefan Diggs talk, I found him really engaging, personal, charismatic.
07:45I can see why all the chicks are in the locker room, and I think he will be.
07:51They say in New England, he definitely was.
07:53I mean, they didn't bring him back, not because he wasn't a leader on the football team.
07:57Look, they wouldn't have brought him in if they knew he was going to be trouble.
08:00No, I mean, we had Ben Valin on, who comes on the show a lot from the Boston Globe, and
08:06he was kind of raving about the one year that Diggs was in New England.
08:10Yeah, no doubt about it.
08:11Kicking competition is getting interesting.
08:13The rookie appears to be winning it so far, Drew Stevens.
08:17Now, I don't know.
08:18Does he have to just completely knock out Jake Moody?
08:21Moody, but at least when the reporters have been around, Stevens has been more accurate.
08:26Maybe he only missed one or two, and Moody has been a lot more inconsistent.
08:30Moody misses all the 50-yarders.
08:32Yeah.
08:33I see this breakdown.
08:33And that's what he's done in his career.
08:34It's like, Stevens hit a 52-yarder, 56-yarder.
08:38Moody misses them all.
08:40So, it's just interesting.
08:41Let's see.
08:42Will they have the balls to go with a rookie kicker, undrafted kicker?
08:48It's possible.
08:49It could happen.
08:51Or will Moody get the benefit of the doubt being the veteran?
08:54I don't know.
08:55The first controlled joint practice is coming up.
08:59It's August 12th.
09:00Let me think about this real quick.
09:01Sorry.
09:02Jake Moody in his career has missed eight from 40 to 49.
09:07And he's missed six from 50-plus.
09:10So, from 40 and beyond, he's missed 14 kicks.
09:16Yeah, that's a lot.
09:18That's a lot.
09:19Well, I mean, I don't know how many kicks he's taken.
09:22Like, I don't know the percentage.
09:23Well, I mean, he's 37, so he's 23 for 37.
09:28It's not great.
09:28That's not great.
09:29Not great.
09:30That's the reason he's on a 13.
09:32He was a third-round pick.
09:33Yeah.
09:33Well, kickers do bounce around.
09:35Yeah.
09:35But I don't think he's found his consistent.
09:37Although, last year, if you look at his numbers, I think his numbers overall were pretty decent.
09:41Last year, they were pretty decent.
09:43Yeah.
09:43And he only played half the season.
09:44Some people were surprised that they actually brought in competition.
09:47But the rookie seems to be winning so far, at least according to reports and what the public is able
09:52to see.
09:53And the reporters are able to see.
09:55Again, controlled scrimmage, August 12th versus the Dolphins.
09:59That's in Ashburn.
10:02They have a second joint practice scheduled for August 26th at Baltimore.
10:08Those are the two primary controlled competitive sessions that they have scheduled.
10:13Of course, the first preseason game is coming up.
10:16It's this Friday, August 14th versus the Dolphins at Northwest Stadium.
10:20How many snaps are you giving Jaden Daniels?
10:23I don't know.
10:24I have no idea how they're going to handle it.
10:25No, but I'm just asking you.
10:27I don't know.
10:27You're the head coach.
10:29You don't know?
10:30I actually don't know.
10:31I give him at least two series.
10:32He's asking you how many do you want to see.
10:34Honestly, I don't know how the league is handling it.
10:38I don't care how the league's handling it.
10:40You're handling it.
10:41You're the head coach.
10:41You have to make a decision right now.
10:43Are you going to play Jaden Daniels?
10:44Are you going to play him one series?
10:46Are you going to play him two series?
10:47Are you going to play him a half?
10:47I always like playing guys, especially younger quarterbacks.
10:50I don't know.
10:50Maybe I play him two series.
10:52I don't know.
10:52I don't think he's going to see extended play.
10:53I give him at least two series.
10:55And then the second preseason game, I give him a half.
10:58I don't think he'll play a half.
10:59They shut him down in the third preseason game.
11:01I think he'll maybe play two series, then maybe a quarter, quarter and a half.
11:04And then I think that's it.
11:07And then so that's Friday is the first one against the Dolphins.
11:11And then you have August 22nd against Detroit and August 28th at the Ravens.
11:20Of course, they have to cut down to 53.
11:24And that won't happen, though, for another 20 days or so.
11:28That happens on August 30th.
11:31Right.
11:32Yeah, but it gets going this way.
11:34I can't believe it's August 10th.
11:35I know.
11:36A bunch of games Thursday.
11:38You've got the Commanders on Friday.
11:40I think there's only three games on Friday.
11:41But you've got Commanders on Friday.
11:42But this is the full week one of preseason.
11:46We did get some good news.
11:47I think you guys may have talked about it on Friday.
11:50But Trey Amos was back.
11:52George Armstrong.
11:53Trust away.
11:53But I think Amos then walked off.
11:55But I think he's okay.
11:56I'm not sure.
11:57Quinn says he thinks he's going to be good to go for week one.
12:00Yeah, but they are getting some guys back.
12:02Not just everybody getting hurt.
12:03Some guys coming back.
12:04I have to ask JK about that.
