ರಾಹುಲ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಅವರ ಛಾತ್ರೋಂ ಕಿ ಗೂಂಜ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಜಂತರ್ ಮಂತರ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಸಿಜೆಪಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಗಿಂತ ಮಂಕಾಗಿತ್ತು ಎಂದ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್‌ ಸಂಸದ ಶಶಿ ತರೂರ್‌ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗೆ ಪಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರಿ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಬಿಜೆಪಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷ ತರುವಂತಹ ಯಾವುದೇ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡಬಾರದು ಅಂತಾ ತರೂರ್ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ಸುದ್ದಿಗಾರರ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದ ವೇಣುಗೋಪಾಲ್‌, 'ನಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಶಿಸ್ತು ಅಥವಾ ಚೌಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಬದ್ಧರಾಗಿರದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸನ್ನಗೊಳಿಸುವಂತಹ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡದಂತೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ವಹಿಸಬೇಕು. ರಾಹುಲ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ದೋಷ ಹುಡುಕಿದರೆ ಅಥವಾ ಅವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ನಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿದರೆ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯವರಿಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ತಿಳಿದೋ ಅಥವಾ ತಿಳಿಯದೆಯೋ ಇಂತಹ ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡಬಾರದು' ಎಂದರು.

Responding to questions about Tharoor’s comments, Congress leader K.C. Venugopal said party members should be careful not to make statements that could please the BJP. He also stressed that criticism or negative remarks against Rahul Gandhi could benefit the BJP politically.
