00:12Right now, Victoria is the nation's laggard on public school funding under the Gonski model.
00:17Are you going to, before the election, fulfil that full and fair funding obligation?
00:23That is my intention. I spoke with the Prime Minister last week.
00:27I've got another meeting with him later this week.
00:30My priority is delivering full and fair funding for our public school kids.
00:35Two reasons.
00:3630% of our disadvantaged kids are in public schools.
00:40It's twice what it is for the non-government sector.
00:43I want to make sure that we reach up and bring every one of those kids for their future.
00:49Secondly, it is the right thing to do.
00:52He also wants a stronger focus on tackling crime and ensuring punishment,
00:56meets community expectations.
00:58So would you invest more in corrections and youth justice for that rehabilitation education?
01:04Is that something you'd consider?
01:05It is something I would consider.
01:07We need to make sure these kids get educated.
01:10Education is their silver bullet for living a life of purpose and moving away from a life of crime.

01:26What does that actually look like in terms of policy settings?

01:31Getting out the way of oversome, burdensome business regulation.

01:45What exactly?
01:46I have identified business regulation and red tape that can be cut.
01:52I think it's about a rhetorical reset.
01:55Making sure that business knows I'm in their corner.
02:00Whether it be payroll tax, land taxes.
02:03I've heard that message.
02:05I want them to know that I'll work with them and I'll support them.
02:10Are you willing to cut land tax?
02:12I will sit down with business and do what I need to do to drive investment.
02:17We've grown our business investment 30% over the past decade.
02:23We are the world leader.
02:25So it's not all doom and gloom then?
02:26No it's not.
02:26Our success and our secret ingredient is our people.

03:02Treaty is good for all Victorians and this is about making sure we acknowledge the past
03:08and have a better and brighter future for everyone.
