00:05It looks like they can hear the instruments, but in fact they're deaf or hard of hearing.
00:12Members of the Bouboudi Ulasu-based Fientan company,
00:15they're able to dance thanks to the vibrosine technique created by the company's founder.
00:23Sign language allows us to sign the dance, and sight allows us to see and execute the movements.
00:30To coordinate with the music, I work with physical touch and the connection to the ground.
00:37When dancing barefoot on the floor or terrace, one feels specific vibrations,
00:42a resonance rising from the ground.
00:46I try to link that resonance with the music playing, the dance and the sign language being used,
00:53all while tapping the dancer's body, enabling them to feel and capture the musical tempo.

01:09In my tradition, we've always danced, we grew up with music.
01:14So I asked myself, what do I need right now to dance along with the music?
01:20Little by little, I started tuning in to the rhythm of the music, and that sparked ideas and reflections.
01:27Gradually, I began developing the technique that would eventually become known as vibrosine.
